Bobster?

By David on 27/07/2009
I know he doesn't have a great WG history so I figured it would be worthwhile to discuss his position in WG?

He has made an introduction and has told me he plans on applying around the 1st of August as he will not be as active until then.

Personally, I'm skeptical.

I know in the past he has basically mouthed off for the sake of mouthing off, with no real legitimate intention short of "I can so I will."

He causes trouble where it isn't needed and basically doesn't care how he treats others, and how he comes across.

I see this as a potential threat to our current stability.

On another note, he did in fact take the time to PM me on the IRC (might have the logs) and explain himself. He said that he does want to change this time around. He's here mainly looking to have a good time with some friends.

He didn't really come clean so to speak about his past actions, and I know he could easily be spouting off BS.

I'm also putting aside my personal issues concerning his tendency to bash the USA...not to keen on that, but that's just me and I can't use that as a clan related issue.

What are your thoughts about his coming back? I think this is something that needs a lot of input and that's why I've given our Elite Guardians the ability to give some feedback.

He did spy on us at the worst possible time to CR.

No opinion.

I'm indifferent myself.

Didn't really know him that well while he was here, but he has disappeared and reappeared a few times, I really doubt he will be a long time member again, but, having said that, I don't see good reason to deny his application.

I don't see reason to deny him either. He still has to follow the rules and not flame people. Never got along with him personally.

Dont really want him

Hes a temporary member. Once the going gets tough/WG doesnt satisfy him, hes gone.

This ^ especiallyt about the temporary member...
He only left most recently at the end of April:

He leaves and rejoins too much....
I think that if we do let him back in... this will be his last chance at happiness in WG and if he leaves again he won't be able to rejoin.

But... i'm all for letting him apply.

My only thought is that he was framed by Muggers and I still don't believe him to be a spy. I can agree with the conditions if you decide to leave him rejoin.

I see potential problems. But are they any worse than what Omar brings to us. Pete at times can be just what was pointed out on here. He also can be a great friend, good pk war person, attending events and helpful to clan mates. He's likely to go boss hunting and other things a lot of you enjoy. Imo weighing it all out, I think let him apply.

Staff just needs to be firm when the ex-members rejoin WG. If it is not okay for a new trial member to do it then it is not okay for them to do the stuff. Just get tough and let them know you won't take crap.

I personally like Petester and Omar. Clan mates are all different and we make up a very unique family here.

By JC on 28/07/2009
I have to agree with Rachy here, Pete is in the same sort of state as Omar in the sense that he has a known history of not exactly sticking with WG throughout the tough times. Of course, as I mentioned in This topic, being friends with council always helps with getting your application accepted 4 hours after intro'ing. huh.gif

I personally think Omar is/was a greater risk to the community side of WG then Pete ever will be. As we've allready discussed up here, Omar has a tendency to pressure/bully lower level'd people into training, and I can't say I have ever seen the same attitude from Pete.

I do agree with the suggestion of having a 'last chance clause' on his application, and I don't see why Omar should get away with the same sort of thing (I'm sure he has rejoined as many, if not more times, since I can recall at least 3 times previously that he has left/rejoined).

By Nick on 28/07/2009
I have seen Pete join 2 or 3 times already. I have seen him leave for CR a few times too. In my opinion, he is an extremely temporary member and just wants to use WG for it's community.. which there is nothing wrong wuth, but it can cause potential problems down the road if it is not watched over carefully.

I could care less if I see him re-join. I just think it is a bit funny of him to leave WG when we are down, and come back for the community when we are a bit higher.

By rachellove9 on 28/07/2009
The biggest thing I see with any ex member returning is that staff needs to keep control and make sure they are not allowing them to do stuff they would frown on from others.

Wasnt that proved to be wrong? Or am I mistaken?

Anyways, I personally think, give him another chance. Last chance. After this, no more. Like we did to simon. I personally like simon, but he had his chances, many of them. Same goes for Pete. If he rejoins, keep a very close eye on him. Moderate all his posts and stuff. If he steps one toe out of line, goodbye. Dont give him 3 warns. Give him 1. If he gets 1 warn level. Kick him.

Are we doing this to Omar too then? The one chance. It can not be that cut and dry. Some things happen and people learn hopefully.

Yes that was proven to be wrong and only reason he was aloud back in last time.
