IRL Meeting 3 - USA/Canada

I'm travelling all around the USA and Canada with my friends from November 20th to January 5th.

I need to know who amoung you would be interested in meeting up as a clan, and who's of legal drinking age. Now, I will not be meeting you one by one so I have to organise two or three meetings.

One west coast, one east coast, possibly one more in central or Canada. I don't know. First I have to see who'd go.

Each IRL meeting would be a day trip, and would be followed by one evening where you'd join myself and my IRL friends on a night out if you're 21 or up. But you can at least come along in the day.

If you come along I will be selling WG T-Shirts for cheap. Lets say $15 USD since I no longer have to pay for postage. DON'T WEAR A WG T-SHIRT ON THE DAY. If two or more of you are seen wearing one it will look so nerdfest. Seriously, WG T-Shirts are banned.

And you decide to do all this in the WINTER? YOu won't even get to see all the beautiful national parks because they'll be locked in with snow :<. Nonetheless though I can give you some must do's while you're in the country, as far as national parks go. In the USA that is, Canada idk .

Oh yeah..and I'll be 20...soooo...close enough to the drinking age. If you go to Canada near me (I'm in Michigan, like 15 miles from Canada), I'd for sure hit up some bars with you cuz the drinking age is 19 there

Hell yes, Joe is right. We would love to attend with the only limitation being school or work. I would hope that the IRL would at least straddle a week end because it would reduce the the impact of work or school. Now, have you considered the weather. I have come to the realization that you are well traveled but winter in the US can be brutal and the farther north in the US crossing into Canada is even worse. With that said, virtually anywhere in the US is possible. Though travel to a major city in the southern part of the US would be a better bet in winter than the northern part.



Also, I can legally drink alcohol anywhere where its legal. A drink with other people from WG would be epic.

You should start posting how far you're willing to travel rather than say "Habe it in state X" because I'll get like 20 different states and I'll end up just not bothering to hold one.

Well i'd say i'd travel like 4 hours max from Toronto. But i would never go if it were in Detroit or the likes. Worst place ever to go.

Honestly, the best thing to do might be to plan the trip and then give WG members a chance to see where you'll be around and you can alter it around that. Don't want you to make plans about what people say now, especially when they could back out of it.

Im willing to travel as far north in cali as LA, so options are: Los Angeles or its outlying counties, San Diego or its outlying counties. Id also be willing to travel to Las Vegas.

I'm in North CA. Sacramento. Lack of car and some one to watch kid means that if I go to San Fran, I'd have kid with me and it would be a day trip only. I'd also be on you all about language in front of her... Or worse, SHE'D tell you to watch your language.

If it was in Sacramento though, I could possibly drop her off back at home for the evening/night, and go back out. Public transportation sucks, but it works.

I live in south Alabama and it would be around school time so the only way I would be able to make it is a day trip that would be within about 2 to 3 hours, if my parents permit. Can't drink, only 16. I can drive though, and I do have a car.

Southern Mississippi, southern Alabama, and the panhandle of Florida. Pretty much my distance.

it would be awesome to have you by the east coast. since its going to be for winter. washington dc would be a suitable choice.

I live in northern california. As do 1colonel, winddancir, and some other WG. I'd say I'd be willing to drive 90 minutes to any place. MAYBE San Francisco, which is about 2 hours away.

If you have it in San Fran, you HAVE to go to Yosemite, it's to pretty to miss. Also Sequoia NP is nearby as well I believe, Also very neat.

I live in Atlanta, GA. I hear a decent amount of people live in that general area. I'm willing to come out with you guys but I'm only 16. Do come to Atlanta. Seriously.

Oh and I can't drive. If anyone would be willing to pick me up I'd play a little for gas.

Joe and I talked about it and we did not say how far. Well, you are coming from Australia and crossing the US. We can travel just about anywhere in the US and depending on when--school and work are a factor. Also, I can provide transportation via an automobile to those in need within reason. WG IRL--epic.

I still vote for warmer though because the cold is a DRAG.

If you ended up going to SoCal I would only be able to make it in the South Bay -.- (Redondo Beach, Torrance, Hermosa Beach, etc.). And I don't think you guys are beach-goers so :\

USA travel tip. Flying from a large city air port to a large city airport is cheaper than flying from a large city airport to a small city airport. From large to small can involve the cabin attendant asking how much you weigh so they can balance the plane properly. Unusual, yes but it has actually happened to me too bad I didn't have my agile top and agile legs at the time. Oh, sorry that the game not real life. The line is beginning to blur (jk).

I'm willing to go awhiles away to go to a meeting. Problem is I'm 16, but since I have to get 50 hours of driving for a license, and I'm a lazy son of a bitch, I don't have it. So that combined with that I have school going on means I don't really get a say in how far I can go to get to a meeting. Just depends on when/where the meeting is, and how generous my parents are feeling at the time. All depends if it's during christmas break, in the middle of school, if I have tests coming up, if my parents are planning on going anywhere. Honestly I can't even make a prediction so don't worry about it, if I can make it I will.

I'm texas, so lets try to get close to there. Ummm, im not sure how far i would be able to travel. considering where u decide to meet/how much the plane costs/ I'm only 17 and still live with my parents, I wouldn't be able to go very far.

I am on the east coast Pittsburgh, Pa and can go as far as Ohio. Pittsburgh International Airport is awesome! Lots to do in the 'burg.

Tbh Lordy, if you came to Canada, I would do Anything I Could to come! Even if it meant booking a Bus ticket to come down mate.

Lordy. Come to washington D.C/ Maryland, on the east coast. I'm not of legal drinking age, but i can hook you up with some chronic that will make you see dragons.

This would be interesting. From what I have seen, we have 1 KY, 2 GA, 1 AL, and 1TX so far. I am MS, so we are all within several hours of one another. Honestly the most central place would probably be mobile for the 6 of us, (sorry for whoever was in TX, and kinda sorry for KY), which is about an hour from me. I am willing to go further than that, but it is the most central area.... though I gotta say we could always meet at my house on the MS Gulf Coast and 21+ could hit up casinos after the meet.

It would be great to meet you guys, lookin' forward to it.

So San Francisco is a possibility and Canada. I have been to both though San Francisco is pretty far and I would probably fly. Now, Canada on the eastern side I can drive. In fact I was just in Montreal and Niagra Falls, Ontario. Its not just the driving in snow. Its the distances involved its a good eight hours to Niagra Falls and possibly an additional eight to Montreal in winter aargh. Also, the more notice that I have the cheaper the fare will be so when things firm up let me know. For those of you without transportation, depending on where you are it is possible that I may be able to provide transportation. Also, I know all of you are adults but if your parents require a chaperon I possibly could chaperon.

Too bad the west coast one is in San Fransisco (and not Seattle), California is a little out of my reach during the academic year. But consider Vancouver or Victoria (BC) for the Canada trip, there is a *chance* I *might* be able to make it.

Yeah that's another thing, if there is snow and ice I can't drive my car, it's too light and slides all over the road in winter.

O btw, idk I can't drink but if enough under 21 yr old kids(18+)would there be a possibility of going to a hookah bar for some fun.

Travel advisory. For those in the US, if you plan on going across the border to Canada, You will need a passport or an enhanced drivers license. The latter is issued by some states that share international borders like New York state. Also, it takes time to get a pass port so if you need one get one.

New York, Washington, Vermont and Michigan (on the U.S. side)
British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec and Manitoba (on the Canada side)

Offer enhanced drivers licenses which make crossing the border much easier If you are in one of those states/provinces and plan on crossing, I highly recommend one.

I MIGHT be able to go to San Francisco. The only problem is that parking there is like impossible.
