Compulsory Viewing
By His Lordship on 07/08/2009
This is the one war that captures the essence of WG.
July 2005.
The Wilderness Guardians vs Dead on Arrival. There's only about 4 or 5 of us now who were there for it.
But it was life changing.
- This war was the first p2p war we ever had
- This war is the best war I have ever been in, in my 5.5 years
- It was the first war in Runescape to use ancients
- RSC continuously votes it the most enjoyable clan video to watch
- This war began our domination of p2p for the next year
- This war made us famous throughout the clan world.
- The video has helped leaders cope with difficult times, using it as a source of hope
And I want every new member to watch it.
This war has attained CLASSIC status in WG and the clan world. You just simply have to watch it.
It will inspire you.

The Wilderness Guardians versus Dead on Arrival Victor: Crashed by Followers of Malkav. Unresolved. Projected Victor: The Wilderness Guardians Wildguard Pull: ~120 people DOA Pull: ~100 people Link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QPBMKVEN Duration of Video: 7:45 File Size: 49mb |
Do not YouTube the movie:
1. Inferior Quality unworthy of this epic fight
2. All sound got removed due to copyright, and the sound is IMPORTANT
3. The music (first track by Twisted Sister) is now WG's theme song
4. You should always keep a copy on your computer for reference
THIS is what I want WG to become once more.
Its a very different wilderness, but its the same clan.
When you joined this clan, did you know what sort of history we had?
You will when you watch this video.
This movie offers a tiny insight into the history that you have become part of.
Almost six years of a single, unbroken line in the clan world.
WG members CANNOT go without watching this movie.
This movie is too important to our history and our motivation.
Anyone who was here mid-2006 or before (through our massive p2p streak and KF), you'll understand how important it is that WG knows about that era.
#1 p2p multi of the day.
Sign yourselves off once you've watched it. Post below

Testimonials from War Veterans:
QUOTE (Darkzero101) |
This war was the best, the funnest, the greatest thing I have ever done on this game. It was also my first official war with WG. You don't understand the hype of it and the rush it gave just before it would start. I had three good friends in DOA at the time too so it made me want to beat them even more so they couldn't rub it in my face.
When I think of WG I always think of that first DOA fight. It was amazing. I don't even know how else to describe it in words, you just had to be there. EPIC. |
By Chaddaman124 on 07/08/2009
I was there. Yeah I watched it. Lmao you can see my in the vid at the beginning pming Joe (Jesusislord6) saying "Lmao look at the warriors."
XD
Testimonial -
When I think of WG and wars this is the one I ALWAYS remember. I was one of the mages, and rushing up to gds was SO intense. It was funny because DOA thought entire WG were in that rush, then about 60 dots (warriors) rush and from behind and it looked like we outnumbered them 3 to 1. There were so many blue dots on the field it was crazy, by far one of the funnest events I have been to in RS.
By His Lordship on 07/08/2009
PS- If you were there, post testimonials which I can copy into the topic.
By Randy on 07/08/2009
Yeah i've seen it. I was at the rematch.
By Kyle on 07/08/2009
Damn.. if that video isn't motivating, then I don't know what is.
Love the car screech sound at the end. At the part where they had the massive ice pile, I could just imagine bto screaming "BARRAGE AND CHIN THAT SHIT".
Amazing video. We'll get back up to there someday.
By His Lordship on 07/08/2009
Thanks Randy

Oh yeah let me edit in the starting opts for both clans.
By Nick on 07/08/2009
Just watched it.
Looks like it was a great war.
I wish fighting in the wilderness was still something like that.
By Gibble00 on 07/08/2009
OMG OMG OMG
DRAGON5611!!! JOE!!! DAREDEVIL!!! ZOMG I MISS SIR JERETH!! That dude would bring his dragon mace to the raids, dude swore by it.
I can't remember if I was there!!@ I know I fought DOA. I can't find any evidence in the video that I was there, but I don't remember NOT being there. I wish we had the topic about the war still. So long ago, miss it so bad.
By David on 07/08/2009
I lost members/moved to Africa literally 1 week before this war happened...fail of epic proportions.
In any case, I've watched this video so many times it's not even funny.
Our PKs when we ran into DoA were always the best. The rivalry was just amazing.
Some epic names in that video...great guys.
By Kiwi011 on 07/08/2009
i remember being in dg on a level 1 watching the rematch way back when i was level 80 or so.
jeez, taht movie is the greatest in wg history. Hooty Hoot.
By VEPHYSAURAS on 07/08/2009
Seen it. Not even sure if I even played rs when that happened. Was mostly likely a noob.
By Colinwarrior on 07/08/2009
I completely agree. Everyone needs to see this if they haven't already. I've personally probably seen it several hundred times, and that's not an exaggeration. I've still got it saved on my other computer.
Half the times I've watched it were during the KF/golden-age-of-WG days. It was like our fucking anthem. Someone would play "We're Not Gonna Take It" before EVERY war and we'd sing it during raids.
Btw, I was at the rematch where we destroyed DoA and ended with like 90 out of 145 people. 145 FUCKING PEOPLE TO A P2P WAR! SWEET ZOMBIE JESUS THOSE WERE GOOD TIMES!
By WG Justin on 07/08/2009
lol ill sign off anyway, pretty sure i was there, that was quite a while ago though and my memory is fading
By Kwaichi on 07/08/2009
I have seen this video many times. While i have been training cmb to be albe to enter WG i have had nothing better to do than view WG web site, reading history, watching WG videos etc. lol
To be honest, i havent been even playing RS while you have been making this history.
BTW who was that guy leading with mith full helm ?

By Havochaha on 07/08/2009
I have seen this before many times.
WG first clan to use ancients in a war.
Havoc Angel first rs player to use ancients in a war.
^^^ I love that guy
By rachellove9 on 07/08/2009
That was amazing to watch. I noticed alot of the names in Green for like lvl 90s.
When did WG change the cape color? I was really surprised that it wasn't what we have now. Was that because they didn't have team capes back then?
By Sir Chall on 07/08/2009
Lol how times have changed XD good vid.

The yellow cape just used to be our team cape. When I re-joined we'd switched from that to our current cape.
I still remember watching the war prep video for this even though I knew I wouldn't be there.
It was SO elaborate.
Gear was explained piece by piece. The strategy was just mind blowing.
Favorite part of the vid is easily the part where you just see a massive amount of WG rush from the south west. The little team of magers runs in, does a shitload of damage, runs back a bit then WHAM full force of WG taking on a crippled DoA.
FINISHED
By al0ysia pk on 07/08/2009

By Eregion2 on 07/08/2009
I can't watch it at work but quickly, I remember the DoA war when we split into three attack groups and came at them from three directions staggered by like 30-45 seconds between each rush, was that this war or the other one? I remember we fought DoA twice.

I'll watch the vid when I get home, good times.
By Bobster125 on 07/08/2009
ahh, they were the good ol' days in RS.
By JC on 07/08/2009
Watched....
Lol @ Robert
By His Lordship on 07/08/2009
Rach, when teamcapes first came out, I chose 17 because there was a yellow flame on it, and I wanted us to symbolise a mass charge of flames like a wildfire, clearing everything in our path. There was no purple at the time, but when purple came out we switched to it.
By George on 07/08/2009
LOL at Ravip who says "i'm taking pictures don't attack".
Was he WG or DoA??
Completely ownage war... lol when Robertwb69 dies

And

when reece says "stop standing around WG"
V. nice war, shame it got crashed

Sometimes I feel like Jekyll and Hyde!!!!!!!.......BUT NO WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE@@@
Such an epic war vid.. nothing could probably top this when WG and DoA were the first two clans to use ancients in a war.. so many people in WG at the time.. This is the glory and power that WG should be at, like Lordy said..
By Bassism on 07/08/2009
Didn't need an excuse to watch it again.
I love that video, makes me wish I'd joined WG 3 months earlier

That was one of WG's noobs. We had him lead so when we rushed and they tried to KO are leader they wouldn't of been able too. XD
By For Sooth on 07/08/2009
Watched, but I think we can do better for a theme song.
By Groedius on 07/08/2009
I was here i think in march 06 not sure if this was before this but ive heard of and seen the DOA war vid and that many times before lol.
By Tnuac on 07/08/2009
Seen it several times before but man, it never gets old
Edit: lolol, just realised i had 'were not gonna take it' paused on spotify to use as a workout backtrack. What a song
Edit2: Just gotta say, I love the charge when the solo comes in. On the map it looks amazing. Shame all people did was run up then stand there doing jack all. In that sense, we're a lot better now.
By chip54321 on 07/08/2009
was unclear who was leading the whole fight, but that was an amazing war, wish i was around for that.
By 30 Str 0wnz on 07/08/2009

How did he last so long in mage gear? I have tried mage gear and I would not have made it through the first song. Well worth watching and I hope someday to last through one song.
By God Reports on 08/08/2009
I watched it, epic. I remember the old rs days now lol.
