SwiftSwitch is not usable on a Mac. If you want, you can download something like Parallels or VMware which can create a virtual computer which can run a separate operating system. This would make you more vulnerable to attacks and such, so I wouldn't recommend it just to use SS. The same goes for SK (SwiftKit). I tried and failed. I even tried to use Crossover which can run many Windows programs on a Mac, but these do not comply.

I'd recommend you just use Tiko. Also, try to not play RS or use Tiko via Safari because for me it was always getting white-screened when I switched to another tab, forcing me to have one window solely for RS, although it's possible this was fixed what they updated Safari.

Mac is so much better than PC. People are just afraid of change.

Just yes.

In my case anyway. I used PC my entire life up until this year. I got fed up with Windows. It's so vulnerable.

The thing about Mac is everything is easy and it just flows. Most everything is customizable. You actually feel like it's your computer. There is no little box that asks to make sure if you want to do something like change your desktop. On a Mac there is no need. You click the new image, desktop immediately changes, and if you don't like it, just click a different image. Once you find the one you like, just close the whole window and you're done. Simple.

The one thing I'm sure most don't like is the lack of an actual "right-click" but when using a laptop, simply tap the touchpad with two fingers if you select the option to do that, and there is your right click. When using a desktop, the Mighty Mouse has a sensor underneath the shell which detects which side of the mouse you're clicking on.

I mean, it's simple things that make Mac so nice. When you're using a laptop, when you open different applications, the battery life changes and shows you how much time you have left depending on what you're doing. The dashboard allows you to leave notes for yourself and have all sorts of useful things without having to open up an entirely new application. I've got a sticky note for each class that way I never forget my homework and don't need a planner in order to remember everything.

I could really go on an on...

Just because it is aesthetically pleasing doesn't mean it's a better computer.

This guy sums it up pretty well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CrQjfgvqJQ

What? The looks of it? I was talking about its features.

I know how a computer looks has nothing to do with it's capabilities and whether or not it's a good computer.

Having used both a mac and a PC(with both Linux and Windows), I can tell you that a PC is much better. First off is cost - You can pick and choose components, cases, and everything else with a PC - Not with a mac, and mac parts/systems cost much more than their equivalent apple component.
Security - Sure, windows has the most viruses and everything else, but thats only because most people use windows, and so virus makers will make it for windows. If everyone used a mac, then all the viruses would be a for a mac.
Also, locking down your windows computer, like you should do, will protect you from a lot of exploits, and using common sense and a virus scanner will protect you from the rest.
If you really want protection, use Linux - Its hard at first to get working, but you can customize it as much as you want.

The thing is, most programs that used to be mac only now support windows also, so that isn't an issue, however, how many games are there for the mac that you actually want to play? None?

Meh. Just get an older computer(600mhz+ p3 or better), install windows 2000 on it, and there you go.

Well, given Apple's new addition to their OS, Bootcamp allows you to install Windows on a HD partition.

I still haven't decided whether or not I'll do that. I've already got a VPC (Virtual PC) via VMWare Fusion, but that is just for small things like my Virtual Chemistry Lab that I use for my online course.

I've also just recently made the switch to Mac and would say that Mac are much better than PCs, and Linux isn't really my thing.

Everything is just so much easier on a Mac. Granted it's not a walk in the park to get used to, but finding thins is easy. I always had a hard time locating things on Windows no matter how many times I used them. The only way to describe it is that Mac just flows.

As for the customizability based on actual hardware, Windows has got that one, depending on the computer. If you get an iMac, it might be a bit hard, but if you get the Mac Pro, then it might be easier. I only have a MacBook Pro so I wouldn't know if the parts are interchangeable. In either case, you can get so much more power from their selections it's not even funny. I've never seen another computer that gets up to 32GB RAM, but I'm just guessing that the Mac Pro is meant to be used as a server, could be wrong about that.

In either case, this isn't an argument about which is better, it's about how to help this person with SS on a Mac. Which I've said can't be done. The maker of SS also said in the RSC forum that there is no Mac compatible one. I'd just as soon turn to Tiko because it's just as good, but you may lag when you go into the IRC because Tiko is being run off the browser.
