Please don't undermine

By rachellove9 on 17/08/2009
I am very disappointed in who ever decided to have a raid during the first day of our Olympics. It is one week long and you have 51 other weeks to do your raiding. It really peeved me when I sign in for a second to say hi to a friend and David pm me about you all being in a raid.

I was thinking wth. I didn't come cause I have little time to skill for the Olympics as it is. A person wants to do their best for the clan, but yet some people just have their own agenda. I don't know who's decision it was, but it was a bad one.

Don't give me none of the crap about missing your morning raid. Because that just doesn't matter at all. You have all the other weeks. Stop undermining us.

I go to check my fishing xp gainers and guess what . . . they were not good. I'm very disappointed that the staff isn't all behind the Olympics.

Please stop undermining.

I think if the raid isn't mandatory then it's up to the person if they feel like raiding, they should be able to make there own decision as it's nice to have a break sometimes

We had a couple of people not raiding. Didnt force them to go.

I already said, this olympics will not stop me raiding. Not a chance. Unless you suddenly made this a mandatory event, where I have to fish and farm for 29 hours a day, You have to be kidding me. Not a chance. You tried to make it so that we couldnt raid during the skill olympics, I looked at the teamspeak meetings, I went crazy at darth, and darth was like WTH. I never said it was FO'SURE. So yea.

Ill close this, any more discussion about it, pm me. Ill gladly take critisim.

Wow Lee you have a bad attitude towards this. No one said that you had to skill all the time. It is one week out of the entire year. I'm not saying to stop raiding all week. It is just a shame to see such little support from you in a clan event.

What has the past Olympics and Raids been like? I don't recall raiding the week we had them before. I don't think not raiding all week is a great plan. But did you really have to do it the first day?

Not everyone has the same interests as you do or that I do. Can't you just work with this.

To be honest if we are concentrating on the skill olympics and winning it then it is probably best not to raid theres nothing saying you cant raid go raid with someone else or whatever you want to do Lee. However Rachel is right in a way were trying to encourage the olympics and not doing that by screaming at people to come to a raid on msn wacko.gif

Here's how I see it.

I think calling the raid on the very first day of the Olympics was a slight lapse of judgment on Lee's part. Yes there is nothing to stop us from raiding at any time during this week but I think it's safe to say this week long event is important to WG. No, it's not going to be publicized or gain us any intros but still, it's a major clan-wide event and it's not to be taken lightly. So calling a raid right when the event started might not have been the best thing to do, however he was NOT in the wrong.

The thing is this: The Olympics is not a mandatory event. People weren't forced to sign up. Those that did, did it voluntarily.

These people have the CHOICE to raid, or skill. They DO have an obligation to their respective skilling teams, because they volunteered to join so they've got to produce.

People that like to raid, but are on a team (like myself) have the RESPONSIBILITY to make sure they produce for their skill by putting enough time towards their skill.

Lee didn't do anything wrong by hosting a raid, he only did his job. Where he made a mistake was not taking the Olympics into account.

I think Rachel is right that we do need to take this more seriously. We need to make events that cater TO the Olympics, not detract from it.

Granted, we can't just call off raiding entirely because it's such a HUGE part of the clan. But we need to just lessen the amount of raiding we do do because of the events of this week.

No. Right whoever unlocked this topic, Is an idiot. No bullshit. Fucking undermind me. Thats fucking BS.

I closed the topic, because I did as I was told. I kow not everyone has the same attitude as me. I never forced the raid? Didnt make it mandatory. We bonked Distortion. Simple as. We killed alot of people, in a clan, that said we are dieing. That we are a useless clan? I think thats a good enough reason.

My skilling, has nothing todo with raiding. I skill when I want. I will still have decent gains for every skill im in. Simple as. Darth already said. Raids wont be cancelled. What difference does it matter, if its on the first day, or the last day?

I will still skill. Whats 2 hours out of skilling? Nothing. ok like..40k fishing xp. If we lose by 40k. Ill apologise, and its my fault. Diddums.

Once again. Locking. Rachel, an issue, Pm me. We shall discuss there.

After talking with Lee about this, I think there was a HUGE misunderstanding and I think it was my fault.

Rachel, you said that you were ticked that the first message you got when you logged on was that we were raiding.

I think that may have given you the impression that it was a sort of "mandatory" event or that we were purposely taking people away from the Olympics.

In reality Lee had just told some friends that Distortion had flamed us, and that if THEY wanted to they could go out and hunt them. He never TOLD people to come, or anything of that sort.

I think I am to blame here as the way I worded my PM to you made it sound that way and all I meant to do was inform you.

Lee never intended to TAKE people from their Olympic activities.

I'm going to re-lock this topic.
