Needs Repeating.

By Zemus3654 on 18/08/2009
This has been said before, but I think we need a reminder. We're getting alot of intros lately, but hardly any of them make it to trial. They lose interest or even just forget about WG after they intro.
We need to make them feel more welcome and involved in our community, by;

- Posting on their intro topic, even if it's just a "Hey nice intro, good luck", Makes them feel more welcome if more people post.

- Adding them ingame and talking to them

- More public events - We havent had alot of public events lately (apart from a few from big al hashdown.gif.png) I think this is a great way for intros to meet some of our members and as well as maybe recruiting some new ones hash.png

So ya, just try doing the above^ and hopefully we can get more of our intros actually applying and graduating neko2.gif

Though I agree that this is a problem, I think its more concerning how many Trial Guardians don't make it through to Graduating hashdown.gif.png

At least if they don't apply they're not wasting council's time processing app's etc.

(If you're a trial and think that this is directed at you, it isn't, because you're actually reading the forums) wub.gif

I'll try to have some public events after the Olympics.

I would like to say that there is a major communication problem in SK WG channel, two new members that graduated has lost total interest in WG, I have talked to them and they said to me that they do not feel welcome as nobody even talks to them in SK like I said before on the forum a simple "Hi" would make a difference. Please dont flame this post. Thanks, Edie

Yes but the other problem is alot fo the newbies just idle there in IRC and don't say squat and then say they don't know anybody and nobody talks to them. Although I do agree we could do with being a bit more welcoming, the trials have to take some initiative themselves to get to know people.

Well the two members I know always came in and said Hi and that when they were idle Im just trying to bring this to WG attention this is what was told to me, I have also seen it.

By Wizard_Storm on 19/08/2009
I say hello to everyone that comes in if I'm there or not busy doing something biggrin.gif

Yeah though, more public events would be good, and not just gwd or trawler or something, spice it up with something crazy good!#!@! :} Congo across RS, that'd be fun, idk, cmonnnnn get activeeeeeeee@@@ smile.gif

Bumping this

Edanias is right, we need to make more effort to talk to the new people and make them more welcome, maybe alot of us should make more of an effort in pming people to get them making friends, this can make them loyal members and more active with events and stuff. Just because someone has gone threw the graduation process and is now a Guardian that doesn't mean our job is done we still need to maintain their intrest and keep them keen to particpate in events and WG.

Well I can tell from my own PoV, and having to get a screenshot of 10 guys online at the same time is pretty hard when noone can be arsed to add me ingame (well some can, and I prolly have 10 friends from WG, but that wont really be enough to get a screesnhot with 10 online at once), also, getting 5 people to back up your application, not quiet a cakewalk either, at leas the people who do actually pass is really dedicated, but I'd say I'm pretty dedicated aswell, and I've been thinking like "just fuck this and move along to some more zerg-like clan where it takes less effort to get in", but so far noone has been complaining even if I've been trial for quiet awhile already.

Theres also the "post screenshots of you in the attendance list", I mean, what do we have the forum avatar "events attended" thing for if that's not it? It clearly states that a council has seen me in 6 attendance screenshots already, why'd I have to find the screenshots and post them once more?

From trial point of view..

Kai you bring up a good point when it comes to events attended, but with old members returning they could just reapply straight away with however many events they had attended before they left, though this could actually be resolved by taking the event count of them down to 0 when they leave the clan.

People need to start helping new members get into our clan, it can't be that hard adding someone new and having a little chat if you see they need help, be more cooperative.

What do you mean mate?

By rachellove9 on 30/08/2009
Well I was going to make a separate post about this, but it fits here. If you were a trial or intro and knew no one in the clan. How would this lil convo in our public lobby make you feel?

19:15:58) <+Person One> he means jk he has a problem admitting his homosexuality
(19:15:58) <+Person Two> Yeah, Mr Three’s always touching my ass
(19:16:08) <+Mr. Three> i don't touch your ass
(19:16:11) <+Mr. Three> i rape it
(19:16:12) <+Mr. Three> hash.pnghash.png
(19:16:16) <+Person Two> ^
(19:16:22) <+Mr. Three> then again
19:16:22) <+Mr. Three> then again
(19:16:26) <+Mr. Three> when you fall asleep
(19:16:34) <+Mr. Three> i like to explore with my hands

I took all the names out because basically we all are guilty of some of this type of stuff. The lobby really needs to be active but not pns/homo. It seems that our current council doesn't agree with me.

I just feel that this is meant more for our private channels and pm with friends. Enough of us have our own channels that we can keep the lobby clear of offensive crappy talk.
