But when your time comes, there's a real good chance your health care provider is going to go through your entire life history to find something that YOU did to cause your sickness and get out of paying for you. Then what? No help for you because nationalized healthcare is evil remember?

People are ALREADY saying Obama has failed. We gave Bush eight years, but we can't give Obama six months? He hasn't even done anything monumental yet except for put the stimulus package into motion, which is constantly facing opposition. People are freaking out about all the money being spent, when most of it hasn't been spent yet. A lot of the plan is being worked out now (as in what exactly to spend on) but even the fucking planning is facing opposition. People blame him for spending money that hasn't been touched.

I honestly can't understand why countries with National Health Services are in a minority, I mean seriously, the protection of human life and ability to be healthy should be an absolute right, not a privilege.

There are free clinics, but compared to the major establishments and hospitals, the treatment provided is severely inadequate.

I know the UK's NHS isn't perfect, but I gladly pay my taxes despite rarely having gone to hospital in my life. In fact, I was discussing this the other day, and someone I was talking to made a very good point, saying that if they had the money, they would go private, in an effort to support the NHS allowing whatever facilities they would have needed to be available for someone who cannot afford to go private.

I don't have a huge interest in political affairs, but Healthcare is one of the things I have a vested interest in, I find the thought of healthcare being a business rather than a service frankly disgusting.

Now I don't know the ins and outs of the American system, nor am I claiming to, so if I have anything wrong please correct me.
