Sabre Treky - Introduction

1. Tell us about your RS history, and also about your account (e.g. how you came to name it how it is named, what you like to do etc) :
My name is Sabre Treky, and I started playing RuneScape around 2000-2001 and play straight up to around 2006. During that time period I was in The Sabres, starting as a lowly recruit. As the years went by I moved up the rankings until I became the leader of The Sabres around the 2005 time period. During the later part of my time in RuneScape, I became increasingly activate on the WG forums and ingame to the point where I was invited to basically every WG event. I just saw your highscores and I guess I am considered a ex-member even though I never actually applied. Hehe. I stepped down from leader of The Sabres and left the game in early 2006.
So, I've decided to come back and try our RuneScape again!
2. Tell us more about yourself (Your age, where you are from, gender, Hobbies, Music, What you dislike/like):
My Name is Jon, I'm 18, and I'm from Ontario, Canada. I go to The University of Western Ontario in a double major of Fine Arts and Computer Science, and I'm still debating on possibly going to Law School. I play guitar, and i'm a big music nerd. I've been addicted to basically every type of online game, Halo, WoW, CS, etc.
3. How did you hear about WG and what makes you want to join the clan:
I've always known about WG, as I was playing when it was created.
4. Are there any current WG members who you already know:
I'm sure a few of the older members would recognize me.
5. Any additional comments:
I'm still restarting my RuneScape character after being away for 3ish years, so I'm still kind of behind in what new RuneScape is like. I'll probably be a little slow for a while until I can intake all the changes. Also, most of the people I knew back then don't play anymore, so I'm looking for some new faces to talk to. Feel free to add me.

Well, I could go into great detail in endless paragraphs, but in general, when you've been in a clan like the Sabres for many many years, it seizes to be a clan and it becomes more of a family type hierarchy. It's hard to put into words, but in essence, when you become a "leader" of the Sabres, it's like your being put to the head of the 'family'. The clan is really run by the Sabre Elites, and you spend much more time during your time as a Sabre as an Elite then a leader. , In a sentence, the Sabre leader's job is to make sure the Sabres live through the time your given to lead them, where as the main goal of the Elites is to run the actual mechanics of the clan, ie, events, forums, etc etc. This is why the Sabre system allows them to last 12-13 years now (including Cyber Wars), where as you get these clans that last only a year before they die. The interesting thing about leadership roles in the Sabres is that you, and everyone knows, years in advance, who's next in line for leadership. For example, Meteor knew I was going to be leader years before I actually was, just like I knew Iron (Skoby) and Jinn would eventually be the leaders once I stepped down.
So to answer your question, I stepped down from leadership because I felt I gave what I was suppose to give and I did my part to let the Sabres pass on to the next generation.

Definitely a privelidge for us to have someone who's lead one of the oldest clans in rs/cyberwars history ('the' was just after you right?)
