What do you have to offer as an Event Leader?
I'm not going to make this a story but more of a conclusion with the several things I can offer as an Event Leader and a little bit of info.
-Activity: I am event active and active in irc, forums, ingame, wars, raids and i try to help as much as possible.
-Event Hosting experience: I have hosted quite some events for WG and I think they were quite succesfull but I'm always open to constructive critism to help me improve the events and make it more fun for the WG attenders!
-Recruiting: As mentioned in the big anouncement 2 there would need to be a new event leader who also takes care of recruitment. I myself have recruited quite some ppl and I'm always looking for more. I can convince people that wg is the clan they are looking for.
-Not afraid to work: I helped before with council and I will always volunteer if I have the time or I'll even make time for it. One example: Skill olympics ending exp's for Tbe and WG.
-Pretty known with allies: This can be helpfull for making bigger allied or public events. I have hosted some already (For example: The castle wars event)

WG needs imaginative Event Leaders, someone who can think up good events. Are you this person and have you thought of any events already? (If so please name and describe them).
I have some in my mind that I am looking to make them availeble for our members but i need to do some more research in those things.
For example I would like to use some of the things in the special shop for races or hide and seek.

What puts you above other people applying for Event Leader?
I am pretty sure that I hosted more events then most ppl in WG so that makes me having a bit more experience in things like that. I can solve problems, I'm also a quick learner, I'm quite friendly if I say so myself and I just LOVE WG and I really want to help WG.

Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you inactive?
I might be a little bit less active during the exams but not that much.

Is there anything else you would like to say?
I would like to wish everybody who's apply'ing a meaned goodluck. May the best one win my friends.

One problem with leadership is a tendency to start strong, then fade out into inactivity. Will you promise to uphold your duties continously throughout your service to the best of your ability?
I Promise to uphold your duties continously troughout my service to the best of my ability.

P.S. I will edit spelling mistakes and other grammar mistakes out after I got someone to help me
Thanx to whoever supporting me and I hope to make you guys proud.

So as you can see, I have atleast 3 hours a day that I can offer during the day to either host an event, or just do duties.
+ When I get home lol

What do you have to offer as an Event Leader?
Experience. I have been in WG for quite the long time and been to quite alot of events. I will be working down from the start of our events catalog and hopefully hosting the majority of the events listed, as well as creating new ones to be added.
While I will be held responsible for making events every week, which I will fulfill this duty almost religiously, I want to work heavily on our trial guardians seeing what I can do for them in order for them to graduate. Because as we all know, it really sucks loosing potential members, as of right now they make up 22/70 members on the memberlist.
Didn't think of that did ya tongue.gif

Have not thought of any already as I just decided to apply ast night at 12 midnight, and it's 9:33 am the next day now.

What puts you above other people applying for Event Leader?
I'm 6'3" 'nuff said.
But as I said before I have experience, and unknowningly or probably knowingly, I have been "tusted" (I'm taking it, or it would have been revoked) in a small position of power for quite some time in #wg. If you don't know what I'm talking about, give it some time.

Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you inactive?
Exams, but not that much.

Is there anything else you would like to say?
A vote for Sooth is a vote for WG.
You wouldn't vote against WG would you?
I promise you immediate updating of the event attendance (Unless situation warrents)

One problem with leadership is a tendency to start strong, then fade out into inactivity. Will you promise to uphold your duties continously throughout your service to the best of your ability?
Sure, unlike Randy who dips to bandcamp.
Only some wierd circumstance would make me inactive.

Boom goes the dynamite.

What do you have to offer as an Event Leader?

1. Experience - I have lead WG in a number of roles, Raid Leader, Council, and Head of the Skills Sector, and I'd like to think I was very good at all three, so I have knowledge of all aspects of WG, including Skilling, which is where Event Leaders are required.  I'd like to think I have a good idea of what skillers like to do and the events that best fit them.

2. Attitude - I believe I am one of the most mature people in WG, while still being able to have fun and a laugh with people, I always understand responsibilities placed upon me as an Elite Guardian and above, and always act to fulfill them.  I always have the best interests of WG at heart and always act to the best of my ability to protect these interests.

3. Activity - I have recently come out of RS retirement, and while not as active as some members (ludo tongue.gif) I maintain a constant level of activity, both in game and forums, that means I am never out of touch with WG for more than a day.

WG needs imaginative Event Leaders, someone who can think up good events. Are you this person and have you thought of any events already? (If so please name and describe them).

PVP Dragon Slaying - Not really sure if this has been an event before or not, but it involves slaying green dragons in PVP wilderness.  It can be a good source of money, as well as decent xp and EP, followed by 76ks shortly after.

What puts you above other people applying for Event Leader?

Experience - As far as I'm aware none of the current applicants have experience in a leadership position in WG, and may not understand the pressure it puts you under.  Despite the pressure, I also have experience creating and leading events as well as all the other responsibilites that come with a leadership position.

Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you inactive?

No - If anything, I may be going back to college, but that will be nights maybe 1 or 2 days a week as well as work, but I won't be working crazy hours hopefully.

Is there anything else you would like to say?

Good luck to all applicants! - I think every person I've seen apply so far will be an excellent Event Leader, and I look forward to the results.

One problem with leadership is a tendency to start strong, then fade out into inactivity. Will you promise to uphold your duties continously throughout your service to the best of your ability?

I promise - If I ever thought I was performing a substandard job, I would post my 2 weeks notice (Or whatever Event Leaders do) and allow someone else who could do better take over.

Thankyou for reading my application.

~Owen

So that's all of them.
POST AND DISCUSS.
Also - PLEASE ACTUALLY READ THE APPS? neko2.gif

They're all good applicants, I mean really good. Each has a strong suit:

Ludo - active as hell
Sooth - obviously structured, so will be a good worker
Owen - shitloads of experience

I personally would like to see Owen take the position for the following reasons:

He's got more experience in WG leadership than both Ludo and Sooth combined. Granted, everyone deserves their first chance at a Staff position, but Owen will REALLY know what to do, and how to do it. That aside, he's becoming more and more active, on the forums, in-game and the IRC.

One thing I know Owen has, and something that really isn't discussed in the application is - maturity. He knows how WG works and knows how to fix it, even if the solution is tough love. He doesn't toss around bullshit, and that's something that is REALLY needed as a Staff member. He's also not a softy, so when the abuse starts to come down, he won't pussy about - not that Sooth or Ludo would, but it's something we can't count on 100%.

I mean, you really just can't go wrong with Owen. He knows what he's doing.

Now, my main reason for not wanting Ludo to get the position came up when we were talking about August promotions and how he was apparently ASKING for a promotion...that's just really not a good sign. I mean not that he's not loyal to WG, but if you're really in it for WG, your rank means nothing - you'll be rewarded just by being the best member you can be and going over the top. Reminds me just a little about the situation we had with Big Al and him not being recognized for all the things he did (whatever they were...). Look where he ended up?

I think Ludo is a great member, and he has the traits of an Event Leader (active), but not those of a Staff Member.

When it comes to Sooth, my main concern is his attitude. He's a bit of a troll and that's really not something we want representing our Staff. I know we all do it a little bit, but he does it fairly often - something I doubt would change if given the position. That and in his application he basically admits that applying was a spur of the moment thing. Granted he was able to put together a rather impressive application, but applying for Staff isn't something you just go "Eh, what the hell." It's something you want to do.

Bottom line for me is, Owen is really our best bet. He's not as active as Ludo but he's active enough as it is, and I'm sure if given the position he'd be willing to put forth the effort to be even more active when possible.

Ludo has been a very dedicated and helpful member.

Owen has been a leader in the past and has plenty of experience, but im leaning towards Ludo.

By DZ on 15/09/2009
Is the clan voting or is it our choice?

By George on 15/09/2009
It's our choice Sean, as usual with Event Leaders + Raid Leaders.

David. Ludo was only asking for a promotion to HG because he wanted to apply for Council to help WG. Doesn't excuse it, but he had a motive.

Owen is dedicated... but his university will again start in under a month.... will he be active then?

My choices are:
Bassism
Ludo_Slayer
For_Sooth

By Lee on 15/09/2009
Owen has graduated = no uni.

See, I would prefer ludo over owen. Owen is our only candidate that can possible step up to raid leader. Which is annoying...I need to think, gimme a few hours.

Regardless of motive you don't ask to be promoted.

It's like going up to a teacher and begging them to change a grade so you don't fail a course. If you did enough to pass, then you're set. Likewise, if you do enough to get promoted then you will be.

Keep in mind I'm not saying that he'd make a horrible Event Leader, just the opposite. He'd be great for the job in terms of activity, but I personally just don't feel he's there yet for the whole other aspect of a Staff position that really isn't covered in the application.

Owen on the other hand has shown the despite only being an Elite members he's able to contribute a lot in aspects of Staff that aren't covered on the application. He can do a lot of help for the Council by doing screenings of members and such because he's done it already, then just let Council know what's what with new intros. Doesn't have to do all intros, just like 1-3 whenever he has time to help you guys out. It's not something you just go "HEY let's try this," and dig up info. It's hard to learn and he knows how to do it, so that gives him a plus as well.

By George on 15/09/2009
Lee brings up a very good point....

I was going to open RL apps soon after....
Perhaps i should talk to Owen and see if he would prefer to apply for RL, (that DOES NOT mean that he won't stand a chance at EL)....
But if he is a pro RL (which he is), then why waste that talent.

I'll talk to him.

~George

By DZ on 15/09/2009
Good thinking Gorge, I was going to suggest it (talking to Owen). I would much rather see Owen as a raid leader but if he prefers to be an event leader that's his decision.

By George on 15/09/2009
Talked to Owen.
He says that he sees himself as being a better EVENT LEADER.
So the application still stands.

So I need your votes now please.

I vote:
Bassism - 1st
Ludo - 2nd

By Lee on 15/09/2009
Owen - 1st
Ludo - 2nd
Sooth - 3rd

^ What the previous four posts say

By VEPHYSAURAS on 16/09/2009
I'm a bit divided on it. Since Ludo worked so hard to become event leader. I can't really vote at the moment but it is a toss up for me personally.

By George on 16/09/2009
Well so far its unanimously Owen, but if anyone feels really strongly against him then we can discuss it further.
Veph, post your opinion today please?
Ludo will get staff eventually I am sure of it.

By David on 16/09/2009
Exactly, Ludo will get Staff eventually, but I think it's just not now. We all know he'd be good at the RS related stuff, but I think he just needs to organize a little bit and he'll be set for Event Leader when one of us departs.

By VEPHYSAURAS on 16/09/2009
I'll go this order on this one to be lil contrary. Since Owen has already clinched it.

Ludo
Owen
Sooth

By Bassism on 16/09/2009
Thankyou for your confidence, and I completely understand your concerns over me being a Raid Leader, however, I just don't feel I'll be as good a Raid Leader as I was. Maybe with some practice I would get back to that level, but I wouldn't want to take that risk.

Thanks guys, I'll make you proud.
