Another nostalgia thread...

What's your earliest Runescape memory?

Mine was when I got my first 30k from killing cows and selling the hides, and also getting my first 100k and thinking I was being scammed because it said 100k instead of 100,000.

Walking by the dark wizards near Varrock to find them attacking me and yelling "Stop hitting me omg!!"

...Then proceeding to die and lose my newbie set.

I still recall my first time ever on RS, my friend was showing me around and I got lost somewhere around Melzar's maze lol

1)Getting lost somewhere in between Draynor manor/Draynor Village, and somewhere else around there.
2)Killing goblins in lumby.

He wus like 'lolz who wants a free iron 2h" an i was like wot??? and my frand was like giff to zemos and he was like k n then i wus like omg cool fre wepon lols!

• Feeling bad when I burned the bread on Tutorial Island.
• Thinking it was odd that shrimp were in a freshwater pond.
• Later thinking it was mean that we had to kill chickens in the magic tutorial.
• Also thought mining/smithing was awesome right away.
• Trying to get through the gate to Al Kharid without spending 10 gold: I thought you needed to wear a special cape, so I went out of my way to find a red one, but it didn't work.
• Almost dying to a cow and thinking that was pretty odd.
• Wondering if you could get goblin armor adjusted so you could wear it.
• Leveling mining and smithing: 1) mine a full load of bronze/tin at the mine southeast of Varrock, 2) go to the furnace in Al Kharid and smelt it, 3) go to the forge in Varrock and smith it, 4) sell proceeds, 5) repeat.
• Eventually upgraded to iron and felt very proud of myself.
• Getting lost in Stormwind for two hours... wait! Wrong game!

Friend of mine killing chickens and giving me their meat so that I could raise my cooking level to like level 20.

Wearing and carrying all of the stuff that my friend gave me, passing by Draynor and getting killed by the highway man, then freaking out because I died.

Thinking about it, my earliest memories of RuneScape are actually my first. I remember my friend CJ showing me (classic) in summer 2003 and us making my account together... I can remember going through the tutorial island in bits... there was a rat in a cage of sorts, a big ditch with rocks for the mining bit, and there was even a tutor who taught you about the wilderness in a place graphically similar to it

I have vague memories after that... one funny one comes to mind when I was in Lumbridge outside the castle wall. A guy 30 levels or so higher than me trades me and wants a bucket of milk. I happened to have one at the time so I put it up to offer and he puts up like 12k cash... I was probably less than level 10 so I was like OMAGAWDZ MONIES... we're on the second trade screen and he accepts...

Then my mum comes home and she's like "KEANU GTFO DAT COMPUTAR NAOW" so I'm like O SHIT, decline the trade and log out. I was 10 years old at the time so excuse my lack of common sense.

I think that would be definitely in the top 10 of my greatest regrets in RuneScape - not accepting a trade of 12k cash for a bucket of milk.

Errr, Dieing to the wizards, and nearly having an emotional breakdown. Getting super excited about doing the rune crafting abyss quest thing. Going in there, with my brand new, addy set. Only thing I owned..and dieing...All i do is die..winner.

Being on my brothers acct cutting yews in blue shorts and the prince top. It looked like I had no pants on. People were mean about the outfit. lol

Staying up really late with Joel and RC watching them scam people with black gold and black armor. They would wear one piece black with gold trim and the others black. They would offer to trim it for free but you had to give them the armor and 5 laws to do it. They would take off one black piece and put on the gold trim to show they could do it. I didn't understand at first but then I was like omg lol.

This was probably 3 years before I had an account.

My first memory was that i made an account, but I got stuck on tutorial island. I didn't even got out of the first room . A few days after that a friend helped me out ^^

I remember not long after I started playing RS I had killed a goblin and went on to kill another one, nearly dying until a level 44 came and told me to stop atting it and he killed it in one hit and I was like 'wow'

That's like 10 minutes after I got off tut island. >.>

Landing in Lumby after coming off Tut Island and wondering how the hell my friend knew where to find me in such a big place (Lumby)

I remember doing almost everything above lmao

Got lost in varrock sewer and someone randomly gave me full iron armour and showed me the way out. Still friends with that guy to this day

I remember starting out and everything but something that made me so happy was that a girl gave me a air staff when I got hacked. I was happy over 1k :>

I guess it was when I followed two guys around Runescape envying them for their Rune Baxes which was 800k back then. I spent 100 days getting 50k.. Lawl?

My very first memory of Runescape was when i started my account. I couldn't figure out how to walk because I didn't read what the people were saying. I always just skip that stuff. I tried all the other buttons like w a s d and the arrow buttons and stuff like that. Took me a while to just click

killing cows at crafting guild and getting lost in fally..lol

I remember mining at the Varrock mine. I did not know about randoms at the time and thought that the drunken dwarf was just an obnoxious player so I ignored him. Yep, I got killed by the dwarf and my first free trip to Lumbridge. I had no idea where I was. Thanks Joe for telling me how to get back to Varrock.

My very earliest was the excitement of starting the game, it was amazing. And not being able to speak to the other players

Next memory was finding a rune spawn in lumby and thinking omfg its a rune, this is runescape, these must sell for loads and picking up runes for about 15 minutes

I remember getting a mithril axe for free, and flipping shit because it was the best item I had.

I remember when my friend Markymarky69 ( Which I haven't seen in a while ) rescued me from a highwayman when he attacked me. I was running like WTFOKKKKKKK HALP HALP and he saved me lol became friends with him since that day.

I miss him <3.

I used to collect the chaos runes at Moss Giants in the wildy for money.
I used to die all the time because the moss giants would kill me.
I bought full black armour and went PKing in Edge wildy. I died and lost it. I was pissed.
I merchanted rune ess, buying it 20gp each and selling 30gp each in world 2. I made 240k after 3 days none stop and thought I was hella rich.
Tried PKing again. Forgot to bank it. Died. Quit.

Came back and tried again.

Became a legend.

back in the days i was a really horrible pker..i would lose tons of rune like maybe 10x in a row and keep going back, that was the fun of the game. i remember pking with my friends we got some drops and it became 3 on 2 one of my friends lagged and then i got killed looting

other than that on my skilling side i would mine and beg my rich friends for money

Logging out at the mine north of al kharid and being scared to log in cos my mate said the scorpions would kill me.

back in classic before tutorial island ever existed... so basically u just create an account and appear in lumby with a bronze hatchet tinderbox and cooked meat. First person u would see is an npc called guide or something it was a longtime ago. clicked on the guy and he spoke. Didnt know their were options to chose so i started typing "Hi my name is hamad can u help me i'm new?"
no reply so i kept saying stuff for a few minutes then got pissed and went off to kill a goblin.

Oh yeh another funny memory... back in classic u would see wat npcs say to players so the alkharid border guards would say "You are a friend of Al kharid u can pass for free" so i added alkharid on my friends list and tried going through didnt work.

When i thought the king scorpion in the dwarven mines was a boss protecting some rare ore.

Would mine coal for money.

Thought skulls on people meant they were poisoned.

Was so exicted that i discovered fally

Killing men in al kharid which made me all the money to buy full mithril!!!
Doing the imp quest as gnome in dun morogh, oopsssz lolol, wrong game!!!11111

I remember I worshipped TKS, Musashi22 and Gearshifter back when I was a young adventurer aswell

No-lifing cows until I was 30 combat.

Honestly, tutorial island during RSC.

Although first few memories from the "real" world,
Killing the Goblins outside Lumby and then trading with someone else and thinking he was rich because he showed me 300gp.
Then my friend who was lvl 30 at the time (this was around the conception of the game so 30 was a big deal), said he would guard me while I fished in AK, near the scorpions. He went AFK, I got into combat, couldn't retreat for 3 moves , died and then was at a complete how as to how I would ever replace my Tinderbox.

Training on men south of varrock east bank and picking up the coins until I made my first 1k
