Keanu Joining

There is simply no way I can deny him.
He loves WG as much as me, if not more.
He lives his online life in our culture.

He loves us so much we think he's strange.
He knows the history better than most members and gives more time than most members.

And instead of us seeing him as an ideal member, we see him as a freak.
This is VERY wrong.

He has so much potential. Who are we to extinguish his love?

Remember, I, His Lordship, was very similar to him:

* I use to raid with a bucket next to the comp because the excitement made me feel like vomiting
* I've written essay after essay on WG politics, history and other related matters
* I've skipped school days for WG
* I've cried over WG when I was younger

That's naming a few.
His obsessive passion can be turned into something really positive.

If a single member insults him for being so passionate, or puts him off or if there is even a whisper of trying to get him out of the clan, I am going to expel them without appeal.

Quite frankly, most of you people have no idea how good he is for us. In old school WG we would have welcomed him with open arms and praised his dedication... A WG where people plot to deny him acceptance and call him names behind his back...

That is a community I don't want to know. Remember that we are one of the oldest clans in RS and we *used* to have such a welcoming community. Ask yourself if you're contributing to it or hindering it.

God I miss the old days when people like Keanu were seen as the clan's greatest asset. Come on guys. The community needs to go back to how it was. Let's be more tolerant.

Keanu's dedication can really do something great for WG.

The fact that he's stuck through his goal of joining WG for so long, dealt with everyone slandering him, annoying him, calling him a troll, etc etc..
and yet, he still has all this love for WG?

That's dedication I've never seen before in anyone. I couldn't have done that myself.

I'm emeritus for a reason, not to deal with Keanu.

There's something special about this guy. We threw a lot of shit at him and his dedication stands unwavered.

If he can be that dedicated, we HAVE to reward that. He's got more dedication than I would have in his position. We are so privileged to have him at our doorstep.

Guys, the time for abusing him is over. He's proven to us that he loves us no matter how much some of us may hate him. That attitude almost brings a tear to my eye.

I've always treated him the same as everyone else which is normal. I talk to him occasionaly and he is cool to chat with. Don't call me a bad person for this but remember when he randomly turned into a troll for a week? It was very unexpected.

Saad, what I'm asking for is more than tolerance.
I'm asking for a shift in values.
I want WG to realise our old community has vanished, but it's jusat under the surface.

Scratch a little and we can be a much better community, like how we were.
You are very old school yourself. You should know that we used to treat members much better.

K well I treated him fairly, until he turns the table. He didn't have a great start with me, and guess what. First impressions stay.

If you really wanted to makes a difference to WG, you'd try again.

Reminds me of Fight Club where they have to stand outside for three days. He's done even more than that and deserves our respect if nothing else for accomplishing it. Not many people can or will stay that committed even if he is a bit rough around the edges. Who isn't?

He trained from lvl 3 - 100 cmb JUST FOR US
He made that IRC + RS applet JUST FOR US
He HAND-DREW a signature for the Zybez Clan Competition JUST FOR US. It took him around 6 hours.
Plus - he made a skills olympic banner FOR US.

If you don't like him much, that is your prerogative, but just stay away from him, be civil and DON'T make him feel unwelcome.

cause wg has just fucked me up in some ways that r not understandable.

I thought he was very weird at first, hes grown on me though, I'm glad hes joined WG.

Hi, good gesture post of thoughts, just that it can sometimes has its drawbacks.

Which means, while the intention is to highlight points and values to announce, inevitably there's an element of "protection" involved. Then in turn it becomes viewed as "bias" if you continue to provide this kind of "support". IMO.

From experience, building relationships at some point was any journey necessary for anyone regardless if they are or not already well known before joining.

However, it is to be left to each individual to work with other individuals. I don't think anyone or advised support can do that for them - for long even if must. It applies the same to any other people, be it say if they are bullied or ridiculed etc.

The tougher the group or rougher the patch to "join" (whatever the reasons), the more arduous and unpleasant of course it gets but if the ice can eventually be broken, the knit is even stronger with strengthened values. It's like a kind of physics in social relationships, you cannot deny that. And the individual will learn to grow even much more than if otherwise, if you let them.

Seemed like he had some rough patches and so this post. For his benefit and long term relationships to build, whatever's worth, it is best to leave it to individuals. I'm not sure a gesture like this how much it will help but more often it can make it tougher despite the well intention. At least IMO.

Anyways, he seemed full of energy for this clan. Nice to look out for those values, even nicer to let them be the judge of that. ATB.

Just be nice to him, he is more dedicated than most members. I don't think ranking means a damn in the clan anyway. Anyone can host events or make changes for the better in the clan.

Every member of this clan should be respectful and polite to every new member regardless of your personal feelings. No one is asking you to become his best friend. I personally think Keanu is a breath of fresh air. He is funny and personable without even the slightest bit of arrogance (which is something I cannot say about all our members.)

He is also enormously dedicated and loyal to this clan even though he has every reason not to be.

So grow up wee gees. Consider this a learning experience for real life. Sometimes you will have to share the playground.

For my part, I like the guy. Too bad he doesn't play WoW he'd be a great raider.

Keanu has been nothing but a great member. You should reconsider your own dedication if you think he is just weird.

He is a great person, providing WG with a great member. As long as he doesn't troll or constantly make posts about random shit like he has in the past, I will be completely content with him.

At start i had crazy thought about this guy. But after helping him out abit and seeing his activity its a great guy.

lol I see him as a bit of a weirdo but I understand what potential he has. Lets hope he can help to flourish WG for the next few years. Maybe he's what we've been looking for. o.O

do what you think is best for the clan lordy and maybe keanu is the best for us atm. I don't have anything against him, he's just a little annoying that's all.

We have had a lot worse than Keanu in this clan, at least he doesn't run around crying for attention like some of our ex-members, i won't name any but I'm sure you can guess a few.

You know i read these post and i begin to see that this is how i was from 2006-2009 with 'The' And i wont lie i still love 'The' Clan, But its not the same anymore. People in staff screwing over members they dont like for dumb reasons. Thats not cool. And to be honest thats why i will never go back to 'The'

But this brings me to WG. I plan on putting as much work into WG as needed and as im aloud to help bring this clan back to the top. I want wg to be back in the top 10 clans. Heck i want wg in the top 5

With members like me, Keanu, Warior2025 and some others we can do this... We just need those of you that arnt so active right now to get active again and be ready for the walk back up the ladder
