IRL Meeting in East Coast
Need expressions of interest.
The options are New York, Washington DC, and Boston
I'm leaning toward New York.
I'll be in NYC from Christmas up to Jan 05
And I'll be in Boston and DC in mid December.
Who would go to an east coast IRL meeting in one of these cities?

Unfortunately i could never go to that this winter break im possibly moving to Nashville.

East coast definitely. I would prefer Washington, D.C., New York, NY, and then Boston. All three are great cities but expensive. I have been to all three. All are expensive and terribly hard to drive around in because of the congestion and the parking problem. Washington is my preference because the public transportation is the best of the three. Boston is okay. New York is the worst because the subways were originally separate companies. Therefore, if you were going north to south you may have to take one train part of the way south, get off, walk a few blocks east or west and catch another train south. It is pretty fragmented but the cabs are relatively inexpensive. Washington trains are well organized and you can get almost anywhere without too much trouble. Lodging in all of the areas is expensive but I was in DC two weeks ago for $68 per night close to one of the stops. So I definitely vote for DC.

Also, a travel advisory for Washington, D.C. Do not even think about flying into Dulles. It is along way to Washington, D.C. For NY, I suggest flying into LaGuardia as opposed to a smaller city like Newark, NJ, which for some flights is cheaper but NOT NY it is about $500 more. My company had me fly into Newark once and it was $700 as opposed to $200 for LaGuardia. They were paying but it was a big kachung.

DC is fine, anywhere in East Coast/Midwest is ok with me. Pretty much any date December 11 - January 4. Though one of those weekends I won't be around. I'll know dates better in early December.

I really wish I could go to the East Coast one...but I know I wouldn't be allowed as I still live with parents :<.

`Hell yes, I will come to DC on the date listed it's on the week end and there is plenty of time to drive to DC. If you happen to be on the way or sorta on the way I may be able to provide you with a ride. I will likely find lodging near the transit line and a short ride from Georgetown. Also, no offense, but if you possibly could attend with a chaperon send me a message through Joe. I, gasp, can identify with you parents because I am older than I once was but younger than I will be...

Also, I must mention that the Awakening sculpture is in Washington, DC. Its a bigger than life size metal sculpture of a giant rising out of the ground. Perfect for an IRL picture. To give you an idea of size, you can climb up into the hand. Notice I said you. I couldn't quite get enough speed running up the arm to the hand but could with a a boost.

Cool DC as long as it's a week end because of work or school. I got vacation so I can go almost any time and hell, your in NY so long that I could go there too. Lordy, how long are you in DC and how long in NY and when during your east coast jaunt are you going to Niagra Falls (across the border from Buffalo, NY) and better yet how are you getting there? The weather in that area is miserable.
