Something to Help Wars

By Nick on 10/11/2009
Just noticing something, and after talking with Joe about it here is an idea that would help us in wars greatly.

If all of us changed our RS names to something extremely similar such as Guard 9875, Guard 9865, Guard 9855, Guard 9857, and so on so forth, it would make it EXTREMELY hard for the other clan to pile us. They would have trouble finding the person that the caller is calling. Apparently Brut has done this before.

Now is the hard part, how many people would do this?

By Lee on 10/11/2009
I like randy's name so like

Guardian_(irlname)

Would be cool.

By Quikdrawjoe on 10/11/2009
It was something like Brut 1234XXXX

By Indivi2you on 10/11/2009
Only if lordy went first

That would make it easier for the clan to distinguish between other people.

Actually me and Jon was talking about this last night, Jak might have been there i cant remember but, yes defiantly a good idea. Im just not sure if I could take that uniqueness away from my name, its been so far its going to be hard to change it now.

I completely agree, but it only lasts a month.

By Elyxiatic on 10/11/2009
It'd work well, but I wouldn't be doing it.

By JC on 10/11/2009
I would not be doing this, though it may help in wars it is asking a little too much to have a gay ass name for 99% of the time to make it slightly harder for other clans to call piles.

I also guarantee that most of WG would never do it (myself included) and it would only work with large-scale participation, and then the people that dont do it will end up being targeted.

After examining some of MoD's members we are going to have trouble because of this tactic. They have 3 sets of names that they have using this method.

Their leader and a council member are Kiwiwithbow and Kiwiwithsti.
Their two warlords are Nintendo 456 and Nintendo 546.
Their assistant leader along with 3 members are Xililliil, Xililillil, Xilillilil and Xililiilil.

Our leaders along with members need to get familiar with these names.

A tactic even better would be to screw with them.... If we chose a permutation of the last set of names, then they would not know if they could attack us or not due to thinking we are their members.

By Randy on 10/11/2009
People are worried their names that no one is going to take will get taken LOL

But seriously they can't steal your account name so who cares

By Pminogue on 10/11/2009
i like th idea of the permutation of names lol soudns liek a good idea, the only thing to seperate is the capes.... so perhaps we name our snipes after their fall in leaders/warlords/leaders???? that way the sniper can sit in the pile unnoticed, and also get a good track of their strategy

By Mmangler on 10/11/2009
I would change only if I could immediately change it back. I have a lot of trouble with names and I am still trying to digest the current name changes.

By rachellove9 on 12/11/2009
I voted NO cause I would hate some fighting/boyish name. It make me only come on for wars. I'd never want to sign in rs with some crazy name.

By VEPHYSAURAS on 12/11/2009
Lol I hate the whole name changing system. Never would do this. Would be effective but dirty tactic. Kinda cheapens the game.

By Snowzak on 12/11/2009
I only play for wars now, so yeah, I'd do it.

In fact, just changed my name to St0kenut hash.png

By Jayson on 12/11/2009
it wouldnt effect it that much.

sure it might save us a few people having to take a good look at the names, but it will be obvious when one person is tanking with prayer up while the rest is on a pile.

By Abmanju on 12/11/2009
Omfg, I find runescape boring, as well as wars, but I would totally come if everyone changed their name to Guardian 455 or something similar, it would be SO much fun. I really think it'll mess up their piling if there's a lot of people on our side#

Count me in# (if we do it)

Oh and I think if this becomes popular, especially with the xiillliiiill repetitive names, the clan community will try and counter it with a rule in the preparation of the wars#

well idk bout you but we dont have many lvl 103's or 110's... calling by cmb lvl is actually just as easy as by name... kinda pointless to change name unless we were all 126
