Runescape... will we ever forget?
By Randy on 15/11/2009
I had an urge today to go onto my first clan's forum and see how everyone's doing. Although they no longer exist and the forums are empty, they keep one thread going where we all keep in touch. Almost all of us joined that clan when we were 13 or so, and now we're going to college and beginning our adult lives. But it made me wonder..
Runescape has taken up a large majority of our lives (and will continue to). Do you think in 20 years from now you're going to see a video game advertisement on TV and be like "Hey remember Runescape? Oh and The Wilderness Guardians?!"
Reflecting on my late childhood and teenage years, I spent most of my free time on this game. I can't see myself ever forgetting it. Discuss!

I wonder how long RS will be around and if I'll still be playing it. How could you forget about WG/RS if you've spent so much time in both?
By Fullmetal792 on 15/11/2009
I won't forget RS, but I highly doubt I'd see a commercial 20 years from now and think, "Hey, do you remember runescape?" let alone "Do you remember that clan The Wilderness Guardians?" Actually, if that happened, I'd laugh... really hard.

I'll never forget runescape. for basically 6 years, its been my favorite game for the most part.
today, i found this invisionfree website locater that finds old forums and i spent like 30 minutes trying to find my old clans. i was amazed when i found them because at the time, the req. were like 60 and i was like "ZOMG THATS SO HARD TO GET!!!11!shift+one!11" and its so weird.
I only keep in touch with 1 old clan member and he hasnt played rs in like a year. its sort of depressing when i think about it because im the only one from my original clan (like 100 members) who still plays.

I remember the first clan I ever joined it was called DLA, for Dune Liberation Army. It was for a game called Dune 2000.
The game had been ruined by server instability and lack of support for the game when EA took it over. Eventually everyone stopped playing. I was one of the last people to quit. I still go from time to time, see our old website, and to try to find out old forums. Brings back some good old memories.

I remember hearing about a Runescape commercial on TV once. If I remember right, it was in like Denmark or some country in Europe.
WG should TOTALLY advertise on national televisions LOL! we could buy like 30 second super bowl commercials!
By WG_Keanu on 15/11/2009
Probably not. I'm nostalgic enough anyway

6 years, loads of clans... one hell of an experience
By Bambaleo on 15/11/2009
most likely you're just going to stop thinking about it that often but you definetaly won't forget it, that's impossible. You've spent like 3 or 4, maybe even 5 years playing it...You will think about it when you listen to a certain song or see a certain slogan on tv.
By Reticked on 16/11/2009
I don't think about it ever lol, but if someone asked me what online games I played I'd remember it. DRUG FREE FOR 34 WEEKS

http://z7.invisionfree.com/Saradomins_Chos...dex.php?act=idxThe place where Killer50, Snowzak, Knight Seek, myself, Topa Top, Eilorendil and Stud05 are originally from. (Don't quote me on Eilorendil, I'm not entirely sure if she was a member of WG before Mmapkers.) All members of old-dg and WG at one point in time.
Bookmarked for nostalgic purposes.

Far into the future now we may have all of forgotten runescape when all of a sudden on a TV advert you hear the lyrics of "Were not gonna take it" Then you shall remember lol
By sgtswordfish on 19/11/2009
rs has been quite the joyride. i enjoy it because it gives me the leisure to focus something on the side.
will i miss it, possibly not due to the fact that by that time i would have moved on or continue to play as i do now.
By RobbieThe1st on 20/11/2009
Wow, yea. Its been a while. I just checked and realized that I started on rs over 5 years and 9 months ago. That is a -long- time.
And hell, no way I'm ever gonna forget WG.
By Abmanju on 20/11/2009
Will never forget these 5 years and how they changed me.
Thanks WG#

By Ka Pineapple on 21/11/2009

By Dallar on 21/11/2009
Of course it will never be forgotten if you spent your whole childhood on it. It'll be one of the only memories you'll have from now
