Bebospacebook question

By Tnuac on 04/04/2008
Yeah, i have a question about those 'internet social network' things.

I'm not as up-to-scratch as you youngsters with this new fad, but got drawn into getting a facebook becaue of school leaving year, etc

But I was wondering about the 'wall' or whatever you call it (where people post stuff like "omg hi havent seen you for 20 mins how u doing wanna cum over n stuff? xxxxxx") - are you actually supposed to reply on your own "wall" or post it on theirs? The second doesn't make sense, but it seems people do it =s

Walls are lame. I made my Facebook account just a couple weeks ago, so I'm new to it too, my friends had been bugging me to get it.

Just use private messages dude, it's way sexier.

I never actually understood that either hash.png
(About myspace thor)

I dont see the point of those things if you can just have msn :S
You can actually have conversations instead of leaving a little comment like every 30 mins hash.png

It's just a more fun way of doing it, more public etc. Also if you're not on MSN, you may aswell leave your comment on their Bebo/Facebook for when they get on. It's always nice to come online and find you have new comments to reply to smile.gif

Also, to answer the thread topic, On theirs tongue.gif

You can do that on msn too though (leave messages when they're offline) hash.png

True, but it's not public and it's quite nice to have a public messaging system as well as a private one smile.gif

What you do:
1. Delete your social networking account.
2. Jump with joy.

Sorry, I have an intense dislike for all social networking sites, especially ones intended for teenagers. If you can't be bothered to learn how to make your own website, you don't need one.
If you need a way for someone to contact you, or a profile with various bits of contact info, an account on any forum should do fine. Or, simply send the info when you email someone.

I especially don't like MySpace, because its anything you put on it can and will be kept forever, more or less, even things you have deleted from your profile.
Sure, you may say, but saving all of everyone's data takes lots of space and would cost a lot - MySpace is backed by News corporation, who has enough money to do it.
Also, there have been cases of employers looking at the MySpace accounts of potential employees.

So, if you are going to have a MySpace account, be *very* careful about what you put on it. It could be the difference between getting a job and not, or at least not getting the best wages.
