well whenever you fgts update attendance you leave out emeritus. wanna know how i know?

cause since i resigned ive been 524 events attended. and that was like 3 months ago.

idc really except just 1 war which i've been to like atleast 5+ since then and i want that 46+ wars badge.

Emeritus are still part of the clan, stop neglecting them

I think its because when you update attendance, the emeritus box isnt ticked, so the emeritus names dont show.

but the people marking attendance should still be ticking off every name on their list

Maybe a pm to staff that do the attendance for the event that you attend. Bringing it to their attention at the time would be helpful. I'm sure it is somehow an oversight that can be fixed.

I spoke to Gorge about this while I was still emeritus, I wasnt getting attendance, and he said that it was basically up to you to make sure you get the attendance points. So make sure you take ur own pics.

What angers me the most, and im sorry to the emeritus, is that you have no attendence reqs anymore for emeritus, yet you all still moan that your not getting your attendence points? I tried to stay off this topic, for aslong as I could..IF YOUR ACTIVE ENOUGH TO TRY AND CLAIM YOUR ATTENDENCE COME BACK TO YOUR PREVIOUS GUARDIAN RANK, AND GET THEM THAT WAY.

Ohh and also lee, me ranting shouldn't stop you from doing your job. It's not about emeritus being active or ranting about these things. It's your job to do it, and you aren't fulfilling it.

Inactive Emeritus complain about EL/RL not doing their job correctly. EL/RL not doing their job complain about Emeritus being inactive. Guardians get involved and get bitched at whichever side they take. Council say they're doing their part and don't actually address the problem going on.

I like this. It makes up for the lack of drama while Gene's away.

I think, we should all calm down & rethink things.

JC was obviously drunk when he made that message, well, hopefully anyway lol.
And Joe is right, it's given to anyone with Higher Guardian if they choose to go into retirement.
Emeritus is for people who can no longer play runescape like they did when they first started playing (5 hours a day or so), they probably only come on to check how things are, check updates, maybe Kingdom. People who have contributed to the clan (Which explains Higher Guardian rank) and still wish to be a part of it, that's who Emeritus is for.

This could just be a technicality misunderstanding, like Jadi (who is an ex-event leader) has said that the Emeritus box might not have been turned on when updating attendance, so the people updating the attendance thought that since the name of the person they were trying to update was not listed, assumed that that person was not a part of WG.

I feel that even though Emeritus is for retired members, we shouldn't be telling Emeritus to not come to events, in the end of the day, Emeritus is stil a part of the clan and WG, Lordy, previous Council and current Council has depended on Emeritus before, so I feel that they should have their attendance updated as well. Since it is likely that Emeritus will come back to Wg's main ranking system some point along the WG train, we should encourage that thought.

We shouldn't be putting any blame on anyone, just deal with the matter at hand. Saad feels as though his attendance hasn't be updated, so someone should update it, I'm sure they has been screenshots in the recaps to prove this.

And if anyone else is in a position like Saad, they should speak up to one of the Staff.

Sorry for double posting.
But I feel the need to retaliate to accusations that say I am "lazy" or "not doing my job"... yeah thanks Steve because you were ever so active as Council... ./sarcasm.

I am currently in my ANNUAL period of activity. Stage Managing my school's senior play. It's a really big deal here and this week is the performance week. This is whyh i've been around far less these past 2 weeks.
After next weekend i'm back!

So if all the council are denying not doing their job then WHY do we even have this problem? It doesn't make sense.

^ Agree with Steve on this one. Council's a big responsibility but when you break it down into the essentials, it's not something that you gotta give an arm and a leg for. I don't know about WG, but I've been High Council and Leader of clans in the past and for a clan that can probably support itself and sustain the community without any leadership at all, it's simply a matter of dedication. I've talked to the councils on many an occasion and the tasks aren't difficult, they're tedious. Accepting applications, maintaining a good flow of events, showing up to them to retain an active RS status, moderating and staying active on the forums, IRC and TS... It's more whether you can keep doing it than IF you can do it.

But yeah, being given the responsibility of keeping a clan alive isn't that impossible, but if you fuck up it becomes a lot more serious.
