Ok, this REALLY has to stop.
By Randy on 06/12/2009
Rant #2 on the same topic.
At the raid with the Sabres today we had about 60% WG 40% TS.
As soon as we ran into BK/Gladz/Ni whoever and started fighting,
EVERYONE started leaving.
Just look at these pics and their time frame:

Notice how the cc is mostly Sabres.
I don't even know what to say except that we'll be having a staff meeting very soon.
By Lee on 06/12/2009
Its fucking bullshit. You either need to sort yourselves out. Or fuck off.
By Chimpy on 06/12/2009
I know some of you probably had legit reasons, but not 10+ of you.
Fucking ridiculous, all of you skippers should be ashamed of yourselves.

Well I was gonna rape you but since your Emeritus you're half let off the hook. But honestly even if it is boring for YOU stay for the sake of the CLAN. United we stand, Divided we fall. Hard to unite when everybody leaves because they're bored.

More people know me right now more than they know you. If you think that you're some sort of god figure because you were a good member awhile ago then good for you.
I'm sorry almighty one, I'm sorry for expressing my opinion, I obviously must have stepped out of line. I should've known that leaving a raid because you're bored is a valid reason, sorry almighty father o' mine.

We had epic opts when we went deep and then started raping NI.
People started leaving when we went shallow and started getting owned.

When they get killed they LOSE their pixels so your argument is invalid
But really, when we started going to shallow and taking on clans miles bigger than us with safe zones in every other direction, it did get a bit boring.
By Littledanish on 07/12/2009
time to enforce a new rule... 2 hour attendance to a raid or you don't get attendance?... like honestly that was the most ridiculous thing ever, we ran into gladz and like 1/4 of our ops was gone then within 15 minutes after that we had maybe 15 people left?... ridiculous and quite unacceptable.
By David on 07/12/2009
Emeritus aren't active members of the clan, so they shouldn't be held to the same standards as full members.
If they attend, and then feel as though they've given their fair share, they're allowed to leave because they've ALREADY said they won't be WG active anymore. Granted, it would be appreciated if they did stay for longer, they shouldn't be insulted or punished for not doing so.
I was personally called to the P2P Aussie Raid by Lee. I'm Emeritus, and was just logging on to do a little to relax because I've got finals coming up. I dropped what I was doing and attended because I wanted to. I could have easily not attended because I'm not expected to.
Either way, I totally think WG needs to crack down on active members that are skipping events. Cutting them loose is the only way WG is going to go anywhere because with them we have an inflated and poorly representative ML.
Shape up or get out is what it comes down to ultimately.

The purpose is to have fun.
But it's more fun with more people.
So short-term fun is coming to the raid, medium-term fun is returning, long-term fun is repeating short-term and medium-term fun a lot to recruit more members and have more fun.

Was there the whole time but I didn't come on TS because I was on the phone with my dad. Haven't spoken to him for one year and a half because he lives in the U.S..
I wasn't 100% focused at this event but at least I showed up and did what I had to.

This doesn't work at all. Some raids aren't even 2 hours long.
What if someone can stay for an hour and 45 minutes? do they not deserve the attendance? What about an hour and a half?

I agree with Asher (for once lmao), a set duration for attendance points on raids (or anything for that matter) isn't the solution. We need to rethink the events first, as I said before - we lost attendance after we changed the style of the raid and stopped catering for what the members want to do to have fun and enjoy themselves.
Fighting NI fairly deep when there's a good chance of ownage, a semi-decent opponent and the opportunity to get some good drops is something I'd be more than willing to sacrifice a few sets for. Fighting huge clans down in shallow with single and safe spots everywhere I'm not so keen on. Maybe others think the same?

I agree with Keanu on the point that events aren't really doing what is fun. Unless we've got the options, we can't hold ourselves in the low levels of the wilderness because people our level will be able to tank us long enough to teleport out or eat up and get to a safespot. There isn't any fun in running between BH and CWA for two hours getting maybe five kills.
The problem then lies in the fact that that scenario is what people think of when you said "raid". So people think up a reason to not go and then the raid can't actually go any deeper because there aren't enough people.
I remember a system we used back in the day, where if we didn't get enough people, the entire event was canceled. We'd mass up in Edgeville, and then the event would get called off because we didn't have 20 people there. We didn't want to have to hunt level 10 wilderness because the chance of escape is large because a single mistake is fatal. Instead we either went deep, or stayed out.
I think we should employ that system, and see how it works, even if for just a few events. Start hosting raids, and calling them off if not enough people show up. The people who always attend will get the short end of the stick here, yes, but we already know their hearts are in the right place, and I'd hope they'd understand what the system is meant to do. Then people who so graciously make the time for WG will start to get frustrated, at which point they'll understand how the first group felt EVERY raid - getting ready for basically nothing. The goal is to get enough people to realize that they actually ARE hurting the clan by not attending events, because as it stands there is no clear repercussion for skipping an event. Maybe a verbal or forum warning, but that's just to the individual. If they start to see events getting canceled because there aren't enough people, they'll know it was them and one of two things will happen:
1) They change because they feel guilty
2) They leave because they feel guilty
Both are in WG's interest.
By Mmangler on 08/12/2009
I read some very good information here. Raiding seems to be an open ended experience with some pretty flexible goals. I believe there should be a set mission and a set amount of time for the mission. People make time for these events and in some instances cannot stay longer. Unfortunately, sometimes that is at the time of fight. I believe people started dropping out after an hour. Was it because we went shallow? Started dieing? I suspect it was the time but who knows.
By Quikdrawjoe on 08/12/2009
The best part is people feel guilty enough to post excuses but the people not posting excuses are often your worst cases.
