Our Course of Action

By DZ on 07/12/2009
Ok, lets just take a few deep breaths and pull it together here. Putting all of the 'drama' aside, lets start going over ideas that have been presented to us by the members recently.

I. Application Managers

It looks like the clan wants us to bring back application managers. Thoughts?

Pros
- it would take some work off council members

Cons
- I honestly see it as just another rank people can get because they are power hungry
- They were faced with extreme stress last time and we got rid of them, why wouldn't that happen again?

II. Simplicity

Coming from this topic: http://www.wildernessguardians.com/forum/i...showtopic=15242

From that topic, this is what I think:

Event attendance & point system should stay. It shows who comes to events.
GuardianScore has really died down and doesn't really have a point anymore. Is it really necessary to keep?
SoTW/CSoTW I like, it gets people to train their stats and friendly competition is always good.
WG Pures, have these ever been used? I really want to get rid of this and will do so if you all agree with me.
The Outpost we still have to give more time, can't really say much on that yet.
Achievement of the week, I like this idea. It allows us to reward those who accomplish some pretty cool stuff.
Teamspeak integrated with Forums - is there any way we can temporarily disable this when it comes to allied raids so we can bring them all over to our TS?

III. Staff Meeting

We need a staff meeting really badly. I will be making a level 3 topic after this topic is made so check that out soon.

IV. Our PvP Issue

Maybe I'm the only one who sees that we have a pretty big PvP issue right now. Raid leaders are getting pissed off with members for not wanting to raid and war all the time, how can we enforce people to come?

I think a whole new change of ideals for WG is needed. I think we should put much more emphasis on warring and raiding, making all of these manditory and such. How are we supposed to go places if we don't establish PvP force?

Do you guys have anything else to add? I know that there are just 3 of us right now, but lets get it together.

App Managers.

Make it open to Elite Guardians only, but make it so the rank doesn't give them level 3 access, and bring the runehead memberlist passwords down to level 2, and limit their ACP access to ONLY application managing.

GuardianScore.
The Outpost was the answer to it.

WG Pures.
Scrapped a while ago, nobody ever does it.

TS integrated with the forums.
Huge problem I've had too. Something you'd have to talk to Robbie about, though. I have no idea how to work with that.

I just don't know what to do with WG in the PvP scene. There's only so much we can do before bickering becomes useless. When it gets down to it, it's the member him/herself that it depends on.
Sure, you can bitch out a member all you want. The thing that matters is THEIR dedication to the clan. Our members need to stop being lazy, and get their shit together.
The problem is HOW.

App Managers:
I am all in favour of reintroducing them however it will end in misery for whoever is elected as we have seen before. I agree to limiting their access, we don't need any more people with lvl 3 access...

GuardianScore should be kept, let's see how The Outpost goes.

WG Pures - never really got off the ground in the first place - delete the forum + delete the GuardianScore award for it...

The TS thing - big problem yes... it's great for security but not for allied raids + general alliance relationships.
Furthermore if we can't solve it then we can't have the massive public Xmas Kareoke that I want...

PvP - we've tried everything... i honestly can't think of anything more we can do...
If we force people to pk they're like: "wg isn't just a warring/raiding clan"...

In regards to the PvP thing,

If we have done all we can warning people about not showing up, we have to change the whole way WG operates. We have to focus on becoming a PvP clan. Should we do that? Would people like it if we do that? There are so many more disciplinary rules that we can come up with if we put our focus on PvP.

EDIT: I've removed the WG Pures forum, working on getting rid of the GuardianScore.

WG Pure forum deleted, GuardianScore removed and the reward has been taken away from all Emeritus and Members who had it.

I like the simplifying ideas. Very spot on. As for pvp, it will come down to our no size. For now we must remind people that wars are mandatory and if 5hey skip too many raids they get kicked.
