took a class last semester, (got a 
hated it more than any other class I've ever taken (and I'm a computer guy, IST systems major), and vowed never to program again except in flash, cuz flash is fun

Lool. i got darkbasic and darkbasic pro and just edited out stuff and put new stuff in to see what it changed.
If there wasnt an "error at command like 228112" or some other half assed error that it likes to make up for no apparent reason.. it was quite fun.

Lolol, good luck.
I was once quite into programming. Aced HTML, did some javascript and php but never really ventured into java/C++/basic etc

HTML and PHP are more of layouts and design then programming.
I took C++ and Assembly Language (a bitch), gonna take Java and Cobol soon

Flash or Html/Java is all I'll use depending on what kinda websites I feel like makin
