Best skill to get 99 first?

By Ramirezr on 09/04/2008
I Want to know some of your guys or girls opinions about witch skill to get 99 first? Why should you get that 99 Skill first? What are the benefits about that skill? And what are the profits of that skill? milklaugh.gif

Well, the most helpful is anything combat related.

Most people get cooking, fletching, or firemaking because it's buyable and easy to do. But it's so common that it's not really respectable :/

I did smithing, just because it's been my favorite skill ever since classic. smile.gif Besides combat stats though, there really isn't a reason to max out most skills. Just pick one you think you could stand getting 13m experience in and go for it.

I did firemaking simply cuz i wanted a cape and it is easy, i would say get a combat related stat

99 Slayer. You're level 1 at life if u have that cape. Do it.

Agility.
You tank like a mad-hatter at wars + minis.
Untrimmed is rare amongst high levels too hashdown.gif.png

The only 'Buyable' cape that I can think of that you will profit from is fletching however it really is so common it has lost most of the respect a lvl 99 skill should deserve these days.

Technically all the time based skills of; Farming, Woodcut, Fishing, Mining, Rc'ing.... etc. should all provide profit if you train them correctly (I can make 1m+ off farming in an average day, though the XP is minimal) but they often are very slow to get 99, or alternatively cost allot.

I am going for 99 Crafting first purely because it is a skill I enjoy training, and I think that is how you should select the skill you wish to get 99 in. There is no point me telling you to go for 99 RC if you hate the skill, even if it is the best money earner in the game, so choose something you feel that you really can spend hours on (because it will take a while) and go for it.

Choose a skill that will earn you lots of cash while you're training it to 99.
Probably WC or Fletch for your case.. when yo make it big with the cash, then get guthans if you haven't and max out like a real man user posted image

I am aiming to get 99 mining at first, it is hard skill and i love it.
when i finished it, another skills will be easyer => choose some skill which you like wink.gif

You should have high goals, many thinks will be easier then. But bevare, if your goal is too high you may fall down and hurt yourself.

I went for 99 fishing then firemaking, You only see a small minority wearing fishing capes and it gets you a fare bit of money plus it's AFK trainable smile.gif Cooking and Fletching are 2 of the most easiest skills i know of and alot of people have them, i lost all respect for people who go for those skills as their first 99's as they are easy skills to raise. Go for something more time consuming like 99 Thieving or 99 Smithing/Mining, or my personal favourite - 99 Fishing, this skill incorporates all skills into it for example you need food to train Attack, HP, Defence, Strength, Slayer, Cooking, Range, Magic and just plain monster slaying. Have fun <3

This may sound really really really strange, but i say RC tbh.
You get loads of money and then u can get loads of other 99s, like range, mage all the good skills biggrin.gif and con biggrin.gif i <3 con cape

I'd suggest anything combat related, whether slayer, or just simply Attack, Strength, Defence, and HP. My suggestion would be 99 attack, as it's the most useful (i find) of the four.

Combat is needed at most stages of the game, both current features of the game and future features of the game will mainly be based on Combat. It really helps to assert yourself in public situations tongue.gif

+1.

Don't get a 99 skill because somebody says to get it. Do ti because you enjoy it, and because you think tis good to get.
I'd say 99 mining, but that's because I'm a mining freak. smile.gif

personally dont try to get a 99 skill. Work on getting 1 lvl at a time in 2-3 things you like. That way you dont burn out and hate what ur doing.

By Georgio9 on 10/04/2008
Don't go for anything until you know you can tolerate putting a hundred hours or more into it.

At the moment I'm going for 99 smithing when I have the time...which I dont right now.

By Bambaleo on 10/04/2008
hunter...definetaly. It's easy to train, easy but boring BUT you will make about...50M so hash.pnghash.png, use my advice boy. I actually enjoyed getting it. If you have any questions about it, go ahead and pm me.
