5. Was there anything that made you less keen to join WG? not really or else i wouldnt be joining

1. When did you first hear about WG?

Mid to late 2006.

2. What made you decide to join WG in the end?

I joined Wg because one of my good friends at the time, Valdremia, was a council member. He encouraged me to register here an Intro, and though there was a couple of months between me introing and joining it was the friendly 'community' that made me join in the end.

3. What about WG made you choose it over other clans and what stood out the most?

I never really looked at any other clans in all honesty....

4. How long did you know of us before deciding to join?

Probably 6 months before intro'ing, and another 2-3 months after I intro'd I finally posted my app.

5. Was there anything that made you less keen to join WG?

The application process was really stringent when I joined, however there was never really any doubt wether I was going to join WG or not.

I'm sorry I'm not much help with this, I never looked at anywhere other than WG

What I was looking for when I asked "What made you join WG", I meant... what recruitment method caught you. If it was a friend or a topic or whatever... friendly atmosphere and all that is great, but I need to know how WG got to you.

I have now modified the question to "What made you look into us?"

My friends quit RS so I decided I'd try out for a clan to see how it was like

It was really the first clan I considered. It seemed like a good clan, and when I decided to join a clan it just seemed to stick to the back of my mind.

4. How long did you know of us before deciding to join?
Couple of years. I knew WG existed but I never really decided to join a clan till my friends quit.

5. Was there anything that made you less keen to join WG?
The fact that there were alot of tightly knit groups. In the begining as a trial, I sort of felt left out.

A few days before the Unbreakables war, I don't remember when that was.

2. What made you decide to research/look into WG?
I was just getting on to the 'big' clan scene, looking at WG's recruitment topic on RuneVillage made me really want to join, it looked so nice.

3. What about WG made you choose it over other clans and what stood out the most?
I thought that you had a better recruitment topic than other clans, it looked more organized and overall looks like more effort was put into it than other clans.

4. How long did you know of us before deciding to join?

5. Was there anything that made you less keen to join WG?

I was clanless, I was searching in RSC Clan Discussion Posts, WG had good preferences.
3. What about WG made you choose it over other clans and what stood out the most?

4. How long did you know of us before deciding to join?
When i first heard about WG, I decided to join, but I didnt have high enaugh cmb, so it took me about 3 months till i joined.
I coudnt choose between SE, FoM or WG, but WG won because of fabulous Website and you beated SE in a war; FoM is only p2p clan.
5. Was there anything that made you less keen to join WG?
When i wanted to join cmb reqs raised from 100 to 105/107 cmb, i was really angry because i was 98 cmb (so it took me 2 month more till i joined)

1. When did you first hear about WG? Two years ago, when Tmal asked me.
2. What made you decide to research/look into WG? The numbers of the pk trip and the action.
3. What about WG made you choose it over other clans and what stood out the most? The Community, the small things that other clans dont have ; Website, Moto, friendship
4. How long did you know of us before deciding to join? Not to long, I applied a day or two after Tmal told me about WG.
5. Was there anything that made you less keen to join WG? When being a trial member I always had problems talking to people, like being afraid.. this might be due to not knowing we even had a forum or irc >.<

1. When did you first hear about WG?

Early August or Late July 2005.

2. What made you decide to research/look into WG?

Someone saw me smithing in Varrock and told me about how their clan was WG and how I should join the junior clan DG. I told my friend about this and he looked into it and joined because of the size of it. I then followed him about a week later when I got my fishing up high enough to get in on skill requirements.

3. What about WG made you choose it over other clans and what stood out the most?

Size and my friend joining. Forum activity also didn't hurt.

4. How long did you know of us before deciding to join?

A few weeks.

5. Was there anything that made you less keen to join WG?

No not really. I was pretty ignorant to the clan world and didn't know how many other large options there were. Had I known I likely wouldn't have chosen WG.


Another thing to note.
I loved the old application system where you filled in a form and it went straight to Lordship. I don't know why but it was cool.

1. When did you first hear about WG? - In around the summer of '06, I was previously in phobia, which was the junior clan to fear. WG and Fear had been allied for quite some while, i had been on a few pk trips with you guys and liked it very much.

2. What made you decide to research/look into WG? - In all honesty, it was the clan website, surfing through the pictures that where there got me excited, and i wanted to be apart of it.

3. What about WG made you choose it over other clans and what stood out the most? - The fact that i had already had a taste of what WG was, and that thrilled me.

4. How long did you know of us before deciding to join? - I would say around four months, as much as i liked WG i wasnt about to clan hop. Then after recent 'disputes' with another phobia member, i left, and after getting 100 combat i appled straight away.

5. Was there anything that made you less keen to join WG? - When i first applied, i loved getting replys to my application, however the one man i wanted to post on my application was His Lordship, it helps out tremendously if a member of high status within the clan posts on your intro / app.

1. When did you first hear about WG? When I was ranging fire giants, somebody told me about it and how they were going to join.
2. What made you decide to research/look into WG? What this person told me made me want to look into it.
3. What about WG made you choose it over other clans and what stood out the most? Community, when I decided to join everyone was very welcoming, great feeling.
4. How long did you know of us before deciding to join? About 30 Minutes
5. Was there anything that made you less keen to join WG? Just the few odd trouble makers, and the one raid when I was in DG when we got 5 people too

None really, never really looked into, want to join a clan.

Friendly atmosphere, people more my level.

Carebear attitude. (Or as i see it).

- About spring-summer '05.

2. What made you decide to research/look into WG?

- When I left my old clan, I was looking around for a new one, and WG seemed like a really sweet clan (I was right).

3. What about WG made you choose it over other clans and what stood out the most?

- People around my level, P2P fights, sound community, nice website, antiRPKing. I always thought the morals of this clan were really cool and a rare thing in clans.

4. How long did you know of us before deciding to join?

About a year. I was in another clan at the time. I joined WG after I left that one.

1. When did you first hear about WG?
Crikey lol. Uhh, must've been around summer 2004, maybe slightly later. Got word of it through the federation I think. I was only level 80ish at the time.

2. What made you decide to research/look into WG?
I could spend a long time on this, so I'll keep it simple. Basically, once my clan had folded (well, split into 2 sides and I had to write a 1600 statement trying to unite them, and failed), I decided to break free of it. WG is the next step.

However, it was around November 2005 I was looking to WG as a potential ally and tried to see if our clan fit the requirements. I went into the IRC for that. I also used the s10 forums once, to ask if it was wg that killed me in the wilderness =p

3. What about WG made you choose it over other clans and what stood out the most?
The clan site got me absolutely hooked. With its inspiring music, magnificant events, great community, and very mystic feel, I was very keen to join. Oh yeah and the ARPKing of course, as it had inspired me to help convert my old clan to ARPK. Plus, there were people more my level (me and feras raced to 100 combat previously, and were far above everyone else in our clan)

4. How long did you know of us before deciding to join?
Doing the math, around 1-2 years (very vauge because I can't remember where I first heard of WG). I actually had to wait a few days because the phpbb forums had just been set up, and I was the first to apply.

5. Was there anything that made you less keen to join WG?
Not really. But the initial 'magic' of the clan did lose its touch when I joined the IRC and it was a bit unwelcoming, and just generally not the side of the clan that's portrayed on the website.

1. When did you first hear about WG?
-I heard about WG in the Shadow elves channel lol. I was an intro to SE and they were talking about how much they disliked WG, so I thought I would look at why they didn't like WG.

2. What made you decide to research/look into WG?
-Everyone thought this clan was one of the most "interesting" clans and I looked at nearly all the main clans and WG was one of them. Many people think of WG as being full of strange people, but even though some ppl told me to go to other clans with them I decided to come to WG, and I am glad I did.

3. What about WG made you choose it over other clans and what stood out the most?
-It was the dedication the people had to the clan that made me think it would be the perfect clan for me

4. How long did you know of us before deciding to join?
-Around 2 days before I joinedI talked to Randy (just pmed a random op in the lobby) and asked him about a hundred questions and he was very helpful at explaining what kind of clan WG is. He was more friendly than a lot of the other clans ranks I asked about their clans.

5. Was there anything that made you less keen to join WG?
-Yes, I have a ton of friends outside of WG with mains in other top 10 clans. They all said that WG was full of crazy members. Many people tried to stop me from joining they thought I was crazy for joining a clan that wasn't normal compared to the rest. Normality isn't for me though I like it when it is interesting.

Having seen the WG Recruitment video on the Recruitment topic, it just seemed right. A nice community with both skilling events and pking events (pking at the time )

1. When did you first hear about WG? 3-4 years back, liked the anti-rpk idea. Couldent meet reqs so started own one in the meantime. Really funny story linked with that lol - while we were pking i was talking about how i admired wg, a few minutes later you came rushing in and owned us all l0l a totally random coincidence. A few oldschoolers may remember me coming to here on the forum before the forum before thiss :S and ranting l0l.

About a little over 1 year ago, didn't really think about joining until watching that flash vid.

2. What made you decide to research/look into WG?

I had heard a ton about you guys and had just left my clan at the time. I decided to look you guys up.

3. What about WG made you choose it over other clans and what stood out the most?

What stood out the most is that you guys are unique to say the least. I have never seen any other clan that puts as much into recruitment as you guys do. Plus you do things that no other clan does (ie going to Jagex Hq irl, haha). You guys seem to be the complete clan, not focusing too much on wars, or too much on skills, just right. Plus, after speaking with some of the members, this clan has a great community, better than most other clans if not all.

4. How long did you know of us before deciding to join?

Over 1 year, just heard stuff about you guys.

5. Was there anything that made you less keen to join WG?

Yes, difficulties with registering on forums, haha, ergo it took me 1 year to finally be able to even apply to WG. But pretty sure that it's been fixed now. Other than that, there really isn't much else that can be negative about this clan. Some people might find the application process a bit tedious though.

1. When did you first hear about WG? When Ranma joined.
2. What made you decide to research/look into WG? I was clanless and I was curious what happened to Ranma, later Valdremia basically lured me.
3. What about WG made you choose it over other clans and what stood out the most? The honor philosophy and protection of the innocent, something I personally felt strongly about since I was a dragon slayer; that's what Vald lured me on he basically asked me questions until I agreed.
4. How long did you know of us before deciding to join? Since Ranma was around, not sure how long that is exactly.
5. Was there anything that made you less keen to join WG? Being flamed by all the old school members of WG who were for the most part ex-members or inactive when I was an intro and trial guardian.

The Reputation I'd come to find about about WG and what it stood for.

About 5 Months, 3 of which were spent not playing RuneScape, when I came back I worked on training to the Requirement to join.

Yes, D-Day. I joined actually during the Phase where all the members were leaving, surprisingly.

- Didn't research it really. A friend in RS told me about what WG did and I loved the idea.

2. What made you decide to research/look into WG? Jason(Darkthief125) was in school and we ended up talking about it one day during gym class, he said you guys were really fun and a nice group who did loads of activities and all that, so I signed up! Been here ever since.

3. What about WG made you choose it over other clans and what stood out the most? Too much to list here uhh... The people are the greatest, the personalities are unforgettable, WG IS LEETSAUCE, and it's by far the best e-family I've ever had.

I had been in a noob clan before, called The Eagles, but I never did anything with them and His Lordship seemed like a cool guy, wanted to try it out.

Well I was a leader and creator of a small clan of 65 (ish) members at that time above and when the clan was about to close I knew I wanted to be part of a big clan.
So I guess at the time the community spirit and all the help and friendly aspects of the (then) council, especially Mr Tmal

3. What about WG made you choose it over other clans and what stood out the most?

The kick ass website. That is what really stunned me, I was amazed, I loved the music - Celtique Medieval tbh you gotta tell me how to get that onto my computer, I want it!! I used to go specially onto the wg.com website just to listen to it and look at the event pictures and stuff

4. How long did you know of us before deciding to join?

Around 5 months, since I was still the leader of TU/TR/BP (the small clan- don't ask)

5. Was there anything that made you less keen to join WG?

Nothing to do with you guys.
I was a little concerned at the time that I wouldn't be a good member, I was paranoid I dunno, but Tmal straightened that all out.

Well. i started to play rs again. and i didn't know what to do on rs. so i decided that i wanted to be in a clan. than i went on RSC.

While i was on RSC recruitment page. There was the video. the IRL video. I liked it. than the Clan site was amazing. (which i haven't seen before)

So than when i was lookin for a clan on RSC. i saw the clan WG. and i took a peek at it.

I was browsing clan fights on google and I came across the WG website. The front page itself was so good I read everything in it (and this was the old website).

I actually didn't explore much into other clans, I just read the website and decided it was good enough for me.

Nope I thought it was the perfect clan at the time. Still think that.

1. When did you first hear about WG?
My brother and I found the site together. It looked nice, and after reading up on WG, we both liked it. I played RS much more though, so I ended up joining.

EDIT: Oops. Misread the question. I heard about it sometime in January 2005.

2. What made you decide to research/look into WG?
Website was attractive, Informative Website, Arpking sounded like a nice thing.

3. What about WG made you choose it over other clans and what stood out the most?
Arpking, Community.

Think it was three months. It was just the time it took to reach the requirements.

Last thing i joined to meet and talk to some Aussies

From Mustangred1 in June '07; I had known him through Pest Control for about a year and we randomly chatted and had added each other. He insisted one me joining his clan, and I wasn't into pking much. Eventually I went to try it out.

I almost joined RoT lol. They had the same home world as WG (27) and they appealed to me. Then Cody convinced me to join WG.

A clan in general. I was kinda worried about joining this huge thing. I had never been a pker and I didn't know anyone. Soon after Cody introduced me to everyone and I fit in quickly.

I was a noob looking for a new clan i had just been in a RSB clan which had closed i was looking through some clan rating forums and i saw Wilderness Guardians pop up a few times.

2. What made you decide to research/look into WG?
I looked further into this clan as the name intrigued me and i had heard it was a clan with a potential to go very far.

3. What about WG made you choose it over other clans and what stood out the most?
I felt very welcomed into wg when i first joined the IRC and such. The thing which also stood out to me was the awesome flash website.

4. How long did you know of us before deciding to join?
Not very long id say a few weeks at most.

5. Was there anything that made you less keen to join WG?
There was some flaming in the IRC and some arguments that just seemed to suck all life out of the room and almost made it feel depressing in there at times and it did nearly make me leave.

I got def on this acc and i was looking for a clan and i just remembered about the clan i was in on my very old main which was WG and it was a good clan so i decided to rejoin

The activity and the people. There was more events being held then any other clan i had been in and the people in this clan were nice and reall generous, and a Great COMMUNITY

On this acc, i was 1 def for ages and i got 70 def about 3 months ago which is when i joined this acc.

I was looking into clans and such, and found an amazing WG site. My brother and i both really loved it (Huge props to Lordy for the Site).

It was over 100 cmb requirements, which i thought was very nice back in the day. The site really appealed to me, the events i saw, the testimonials.

Well, i knew about WG since summer of 2005. And i joined in early 2007.
So 1 and a half year. Throughout that time, i quit runescape for a good year. When i came back, i hurriedly went and trained my combat to 100 and joined immediately.

5. Was there anything that made you less keen to join WG?

The Combat requirements... Lol. I wanted to join, i also wanted 100 combat. But it was the only thing that stopped me from joining. I didn't dislike anything about WG. It was just a matter of time until i joined.

When I saw your mainpage I was in love. That made me very interested.

Uh.. quite some time maybe.

Probably the thought of being around with a younger bunch of people, seeing how I haven't been doing so throughout my RS life- but I wanted to feel how's it like. Up till now, things are still fine, it just takes some tolerance at times but life's like that.

But if you wanna talk about the whole idea, being more combat-based in game, at the start, I have always looked to join big clans with high combat averages/reqs who have made big names in the scene. (Eoh/Di were like the talking point in RSCommunity last time, that's why I never thought of joining any other)

A friend sent me a link to a pic on the website. Then the site name caught my eye, and I looked at the rest of the site. September 2007.

I liked the honor... I wanted to be a part of it.

Googled for top 20 clans - because I was curious after reading an article written about Dynasty. Almost like an advertorial, the care taken to such. There's some alienated passion I know not about. WG was on that list. I read every one of them and WG was different because of ARPKing.

Never looked for it in purpose. I didn't know a clan of such exists. Answer continues as per above.

ARPking - it means willing to stand ground for doing what's right. Not for the sake (purely) for just fun and power - these things, you find easily anywhere. Makes no clan unique to emphasize on what everyone does, with no deeper purpose. In a nutshell, when follow suit, it is purposely meaningless. I felt WG was different.

Yes. Crews & Gangs. It splits general cohesion and I had several tastes of it enough to say, it is absolutely detrimental to a clan's totality. An experience I've totally went through as a trial during the hey days. Seen enough.

3. What about WG made you choose it over other clans and what stood out the most? I've never looked into joining a clan before WG, but this was the first clan I had ever seen with a "real" website. And I found it amazing because I had been an Anti-RPKer my whole Runescape career, so I felt that it was a perfect match.

5. Was there anything that made you less keen to join WG? Drama, and more drama. People that I used to consider friends (Sainath, Clucky) who were actually quite terrible people.

I heard a lot of nice things about it and later on when you got the website I really liked it and I was amazed by how nice it looked and I just trained my ass off.
I had nothing else in mind in rs for like a year.

WG was the only alternative.
I had heard really greate things about the clan such as the rule to not PK skillers in wildy and such.
I really liked the fact that WG was one of the friendly clans.
Not like other clans that didn't care about each other just so that they could win.
WG felt like the best "home".

As I said, for about 1 or 2 years. It's really hard to remember. Even though it may sound like a big gap I can't remember..
I joined the WG forums in like February 07 and I trained really hard, some of you might remember how nooby I was.
The first impression I got from the clan was amazing.
I loved the clan and I got honored when you - lordy - commented my intro.
I met so many new friends...oh...good memories.

There was actually nothing that made me less keen to join.
Just that I was a bit scared of pking

1. Was looking at rs top10 clans/googles rs clans and Wg was the top one.
2. The site looked amazing and the morals of anti-pking sounded amazingly cool.
3. I was a noob and didn't care for other clans. I just joined tunescape b/c i wanted to understand the clan life then I joined dg like a year later when i met the reqs and it came back to life. The great community in the guest forums and how nice people were and the amazing website stood out the most for me.

After witnessing wg members helping ppl in RS, meeting and actually talking to WG members (Koshh, for one) and cruising your web site.

The community and mission of the Guard to protect the innocent!

I decided then but it took another 7 months to train up to meet the combat requirements. I wanted to be able to add something to the clan, not be a drag on it.

5. Was there anything that made you less keen to join WG?
It did not happen until I was a member then I found out how hard it was to get to know members. If you were quiet, followed orders and did not say much no one cared or noticed you. You could set records and no one noticed, no one cared; that made me take pause. I found that the value of members was not based on their skill in Rune Scape, but rather or not they were popular. I think total level should be recognized right along side combat skill!!!! Too many chiefs, not enough Indians. And chiefs not willing to follow when needed.

But I love this clan and have stuck by it since I joined in August of 2006, in spite of some extremely trying circumstances occurring irl for me, but again no one noticed. I am sad, but I will always hang in there with you guys!
