Thank you again to Valdy + Zecc, for these rules + the original idea of the game.
It took a lot of games to compile.
Without such clear guidelines, it would make my job a lot harder.
Note: I took this as a direct quote from the already set out guideline.
I'm lazy #
The rules are as follows:
The object is to change one letter ONLY, and make a new word. You can drop a letter, add a letter or change a letter, but only change one thing. You have to keep it going until no one can make another word. You CANNOT play off of your own word. NO PROPER NOUNS, NO ABBREVIATIONS AND NO ACRONYMS ALLOWED! Each word played must be found in one of the 4 ENGLISH LANGUAGE dictionaries listed here.
When no one can make another word. That's the end of the game. The last successful person is the winner.
Example:
player 1-dark
player 2-dart
player 3-tart
(I) Game starts:The winner of the previous round will post
4-letter words for the next new round to start.
(II) Winner: The game outlasts itself until the winner is created because no new words can be formed from his/her word.
24 hours will be given in between each post before declaring a winner.
That is, if player A posts a word + that word isn't changed by anybody else within the 24 hour limit, then player A becomes the winner of the game.
(III)Words playing off itself + repeats:(1) You can't repeat a word that was previously used.
Ex: word words word wouldn't work.
(2) You cannot play a word directly off its previous* under the following conditions:
- Changing of tenses (past to present vice versa): e.g. Sit > Sat, Lend > Lent, Baffle > Baffled, Know > Known.
- Changing of plurals versus singular: e.g. Play > Plays, Gasps > Gasp.
- Use of adjectives: e.g. Large > Larger, Trick > Tricky, Sex > Sexy.
- Change of spelling same word: e.g. Carat > Karat.
- Cases of words obviously playing off itself under the same genre of meaning: e.g. Muffled > Muffler > Muffle, Battled > Battles > Battler > Battle
*Note: under certain circumstances where words are played off directly but does not fall under the above conditions such as for e.g. Crate > Crater, Read > Ready (clearly different meanings/words), it is acceptable. If there are disputes please raise concerns with valid reasons. Dale and I will do our best to access it, if needed by both.
(3) No professional-related words that does not exists in the English dictionaries stipulated in the game links.
(IV) Dictionaries:4 Dictionaries
STRICTLY to refer to are:
Cambridge Dictionary OnlineConcised OxfordMerriam-WebsterAmerican Heritage(V) Added exceptions - Spelling (American vs English)Both are acceptable. So long as we stick to an existing word, same meaning, English based. You may use the Cambridge link to check the American Spelling:

Basically, no french-english, italian-english, etc.
Just pure english, plain + straight #
Have fun

Starting with garrett with rump --> lump --> lumb (not a word).
However, later rump --> rum was posted.
Hence the game continues from there, and all words after are valid.

"Slav" is a proper noun though, which is not allowed.
If used in a sentence a capital is always present on the word, as it is used as a term to name somebody who's native tongue is slavic.
So slave still holds.
And i'll add onto it.
Current word: stave

|
But even you've used a capital letter for the word.
And sure it can be used an an adjective, much in the same way as "Asian" can be.
ie. "Asian fried rice" and "You're Asian!" would be similar.
It can be used as an adjective but still also presents itself as a proper noun in many cases.
Hence why I'm not allowing it.

By Elyxiatic on 02/06/2011
On page 7, 'beat' was already posted by Garrett on an earlier page.
However the link from neat -> seat could still be made without it.
Further down the page, Eugene posted 'seep' which has already been played by DZ on page 2.
However, the previous word 'see' can be tied to a page 8 word 'bee' hence the game continues from there with 'beep' from moose (which was not counted previously as it was on page 7 in the middle of a bunch of skipped words to make the tie from see -> bee).
