The short version is my Uncle died from out of state. I'm very sad. I will most likely leave Friday and get back sometime on Monday.


This is the long version:

I just got the call, Uncle Tim passed away just now. Really sad actually cause he isn't that old. They have money and a huge house and everything, but it couldn't buy his health back.

He smoked for years and was an alcoholic and had addiction to some prescribed pain killers. He was one of these people that went to the doctor for a sore finger and asked for strong pain killers to feed his addiction.

About two years ago, he started to complain about his back hurting really badly. Aunt Cindy takes him to the doctor and they are sick of him tbh. The doctor tells him to take some Tylenol and doesn't really do much for him cause by this time they know he is an addict. Sigh . . . the problem is that this time it is for real. It took him collapsing and falling down the stairs to get them to listen. She took him to the doctors right after and the doctor calls an ambulance to come take him to the hospital.

We knew right away it was pretty serious but weren't sure how long he would have. That was about a year ago now. I'm not sure what happened between my family and theirs but really only my cousin Maggie and I talk some. Maggie was the cousin who was the Hooters girl. They are all a little wilder than us.

So this brings me to canceling my trip to Canada and going to a funeral out of state with people who may not even talk to me. Grandma called me and told me. She said for me to get hotel rooms for us cause I know how it is.

I'm not sure which makes me more sad. I called Uncle Tim while Grandma was visiting and talked to him a bit. He was really nice with me. He was really a nice guy. He grew up in KY with a huge family. Had great Christian values that somehow were always there through all the time in jail and his addictions. I'm not only going to have to face the loss of one of my favorite Uncles but feel the rejection of anything I try to offer as comfort with the other family. It is going to be such a long weekend . . . I plan on leaving on Friday sometime and get back on Monday.

I'm sorry to read this Rachel. I hope everything goes 'well' this weekend. Take all the time you need, we understand. It's really upsetting to read these topics Sorry.

I'm really unhappy to read this. Hope you manage through this terrible event okay. You will have some people happy to see you here when you return.

Sorry for your loss, hope you're alright.

Ugh, It's really bad when stuff like this catches you out, but what can you do about it really. There will be alot of people awaiting your return Rachel, take care.
