Change 1 Letter Game
By Elyxiatic on 20/01/2008
This idea was from a long time ago.
Oldschool members will know it.
Many thanks to Valdremia + Zecchini, the original creators of this game for having this original template to work off.
These rules took many games to complete, and I thank those who have made them, as it makes my job a lot easier.

It would be a playable word, except it was already posted on old forums.
Check in the "words used" list.
I cannot make any links between "sold" + the other words posted.

Moon
Are you allowed to take away a letter? |
Mod was the word before it, moon changes 2 letters (changing d --> o , and adding an n)
Mod was a hard word to verify, however, it does appear in one of the acceptable dictionaries.
If it was used in an abbreviated method, it would not be accepted.
However, it conveys this meaning as well.
QUOTE (Cambridge Online Dictionaries) |
a member of a group of young people, especially in Britain in the 1960s, who wore stylish clothes and rode scooters (= small motorcycles) |
Yes, you may take away 1 letter.
QUOTE |
You can drop a letter, add a letter or change a letter, but only change one thing. |
Therefore, current word: mod

Slater.

This word is entirely unrelated to "slate" and if you don't believe me you can look it up (and that's not just through selective definition selection; there's only one definition for "slater" in our dictionary and it's not even remotely related to "slate").

You have to change the substantial meaning of the word, not just make it plural.
