Secondary teams

By Kevin on 08/12/2010
I need some clarification on what type of teams our members are allowed to join.

I don't think members should be allowed to join teams that do any PvP other than CWA.

For example, Jordan is in FF, yet we see FF on a regular basis in the wilderness. That sends a mixed message to our members in my opinion. Plus, teams like FF and AF have mandatory fights.

I don't know if any other members in teams like FF/AF, but I've gotten a couple questions about whether members are allowed to join them or not.

So, I'd like some clarification, and for us to possibly change our stance on this.

I'm not really happy with our members being involved with any clan/team that has the possibility to take away from WG, that has always been my personal stance and will remain to be, members can very easily say no ill make sure WG is my number 1 priority but we all know that we have/had members that skipped our events for ones that interested them more, raids included.

I've allowed them to join teams as long as they aren't constantly ranked and don't have mandatories.
I didn't see much harm in it as long as WG gets top priority.
WG could not possibly increase its wilderness presence without upsetting some members who don't want to go out that often.
We've found a good balance. If it isn't enough for a few people, there's no harm in them joining a team, unless that team becomes more important to them than WG. They need to represent WG first and foremost.

If they skip raids or our big events, that should be addressed and eventually punished if it happens after they are spoken to. I've not yet noticed it happening but I might be blind to that.

Oh and if FF has mandatories, Jordan can't be with them.

FF does have mands, I asked Blazer the other day. I'm not trying to target Jordan, but given that he is a raid leader, wouldn't it make more sense for him to host more raids instead of finding another PK team?

Seriously, Jordan needs to not be with them. Who wants to approach him?

I have no problem with doing it but I think Justin or Gene would be better because you two our our pvp council people.

Yea ill speak to him when I get back tomorrow, going out for the day/night.

This is sorta new I believe, JC gave permission to me to post this here.

(19:51:32) <[JC]> Should a WG member really be advertising a PvP Team/clan in their quit message?

(19:55:47) <Rachellove> I see what you are saying.
(19:56:11) <Rachellove> He is in so many channels all at one time.
(19:56:36) <Rachellove> Kevin just posted in lvl 4 about teams so I'll add this to the thread if it is okay with you?
(19:57:12) <[JC]> Go for it, I don't mind at all neko2.gif

I noticed a lot of GMT WG members were in that IRC channel. Slayz0rr had op.

Apparently Slayz0rr* created it. http://runehead.com/clans/ml.php?clan=ewok

He's in AF, so he shouldn't be allowed to join WG. A bit confused on that Rach.

Also, Jordan is still in FF. I'm guessing Justin didn't tell him he had to leave.

By rachellove9 on 21/12/2010
Gene talked to him and I did also. Sorry about the confusion.

By rachellove9 on 22/12/2010
Talked to Jordan. He told me Justin did talk to him and that Justin didn't really have a problem with it. The team has not conflicted with WG. Gene gave Jordan the original permission to join it also because of Kill Orgy. Jordan likes the team and told me he hosts more raids than any other raid leader too.

I think his self view is different from the one we discussed yesterday. This is going to be a problem. He has been raid leader longest and has many supporters. I'm not sure what to do with this but I did tell him that Justin was to talk to him about leaving that team. That part I think is pretty clear. I read a few bits and pieces from this topic to make it clear to him. No mandatory team attendance and that Blaze said they have mandatory. He said it is not the same time zone or something too.

Now I have started the way with this for the next step.
