Do you have any phobias?
By Reginlief 28 on 30/12/2010
If so, what are they?
I am terrified of large spiders and sharks.
I know one person who is scared of clowns, this commercial I saw today made me think of him:

Fear of bugs and spiders.

Crashed boats.
Not being in a boat that is crashing, but actual crashed boats on the beach. :/

I have so many it is hard to decide which are the worst ones. lol
First on my list is that I'll end up in Hell.
I think my second worst one is Cancer.
By Frozen_10 on 30/12/2010
I had agoraphobia. Well I still have it a bit but things are going much better now.
Thats all what I have.

I have an irrational fear of open water.
I hid it really well at the IRL meeting because I wanted to seem braver than I really was.
But it scares me shitless to walk into the sea.

Understandably.

Monsoons are quite unforgiving.

Reeaally hate heights, get this weird urge to jump i'm not sucidal or anything though. Don't like deep water even though i'm a good swimmer, just creeps me out if i can't see or feel the bottom.
By George on 30/12/2010
I used to have a minor fear of heights, but I was forced to conquer it in my capacity as a theatre stage manager, so it doesn't really bother me anymore...
Like Gene, i have a phobia of open water, but really only if i'm alone - long story, based on an accident I had when I was sailing a long time ago.
By Vulcan Sin on 31/12/2010
i have a phobia of the sea just because its unknown
and because i watched too many films like deep blue and jaws at a young age
another fear is snakes as idk. i just dont liike how they slide and pounce. and tbh i think the fillm jungle book set this phobia off

im afraid of the truth, that im really too awesome and everything
o and im also afraid of spider webs, not spiders, THE WEBS
By Kaneko86 on 10/01/2011
Wow...there's a lot of things I'm afraid of...
1. Spiders, scorpions and certain bugs
2. Thunder and lightning (although I actually find them fascinating at the same time)
3. Falling
4. Heights
5. Suicide and death
6. Escalators (going up is not a problem, but going down is. I'm afraid of stepping at the wrong spot)
7. Going down the stairs (had a terrible fall that caused this where I had literally fell down an entire flight of concrete stairs while running for the bus and broke half of one of my front teeth. I also bit down through both of my lips so I have deep scar on both of them. My friend says I have Post Traumatic Stair Stress Disorder lol)
8. Loud noise such as yelling (grown up with this since my parents used to fight all the time...man does my dad have a loud voice >.<)
9. Crowds and talking with unfamiliar people (hence why I have Autism)
10. Loneliness and rejection
11. Poisonous snakes
Yea... I can be a scaredy cat at times...
By Firelion08 on 11/01/2011
Putrid meat - I feel as though it's a cesspool of virus and parasites.
Putrid liquid - ,, ,, ,,
Centipedes - For their danger, mostly. They're bold and silent, with sharp legs and venomous jaws...
Open water - What lurks beneath and the considerable lack of control over myself and my surroundings.
Underwater caves - I've never experienced one... but I know I wouldnh't like it.

Aeroplanes, I find them spectacular but I just think that if one tiny thing goes wrong KABOOM Im dead.
By Twizlers300 on 12/01/2011
Not to many bug problems here in Colorado (which is one of the reasons why I love the place) but they do have spiders, and mostly those harmless ones that only range from half an inch to 2 inches. Really cannot hurt anyone, but wow am I deathly afraid of spiders. I don't know why, either.
I wonder if there is a scientific explanation to why so many humans have arachnophobia.
By Multikill529 on 12/01/2011
I really don't like deep water. Like, I can watch shows about it, and i'm fine, but being in it freaks me out, though as long as i'm on a boat or something, i'm alright. I'm also mildly afraid of heights, but it really doesn't bother me that much.

There are a bunch of double decker buses here in Victoria lol - both tour and public transportation.

Good to see this thread take off.
Seems like fear of the ocean is recurrent here. I am somewhat the same with my fear of sharks but ironically I live about 100 paces from the ocean lol, I don't mind being in water that much just when the thought of sharks comes up I want to get the fuck out

It's not really a fear but things like hand sanitizers and thicker liquids freak me out a bit. That's all I can really think of
