star wars way better, only thing LOTR has on starwars is music. Lotr movies=long+boring. Starwars is just graphically cool+good sound effects+crazy amazingly cool.

its just plain bloody epic the battles are far more entertaining than a guy sat in a shakey simulating machine with clearly a fake background shooting lasers that look like they were made on ms paint at toys on strings.

This topic is sacrilegious to the hash. Anyway, Lord of the Rings is a fantasy epic that could have been handled better, but overall was outstanding. Star Wars, amazing special effects but really bad acting and storyline (generally speaking).

About a Month ago, the Orignal Three Starwars and The LotR Triology were played on...Spike and TNT at the same time.

Star Wars had more viewers tuned in.

Personally though, I like LotR better.

Both were pretty good, but I like LOTR better
Battle scenes were more epic. Though I have to admit the movie is pretty lengthy

Return of King was cool, but WAY to long and Ep3 of SW was amazing.

Ep1- Ok, not great but better than fellowship
Ep.2- LONG AS HELL
Ep.3- AMAZING

Well Star Wars has twice as many movies and has been around for 30 years to build a fan base.

LOTR is way way better in terms of graphics, emotion, story, music, humour, battles... everything really. It hasn't had the time to become a "classic" like Star Wars. Star Wars also has mass merchandise. They didn't make a lot of merchandise to accompany LOTR... there was a fair bit but not nearly as much as Star Wars.

My vote is safely for LOTR.

Love Lotr, the Music is great, the action is great, the acting is fantastic, the scenery is just absolutely amazing. They create that ice pudding with icing then there's that CHERRY, it's just so amazing, Peter Jackson made such a perfect and fantastic film that no one else could do. He limited the amount magic (which is the only thing I disagreed on) so that it doesn't go into Harry Potter too much. I would definitely love to see more of Gandalf fighting with magic.

But seriously, it's a fantastic family film, I've also watched like the 10 Hour behind the scenes for each film. It was hell long lol, but there was a lot of stuff I didn't know and the crew, cast, looked like a fantastic community that did indeed bond with each other over the years. Like for example, did you know that..what's her name, I forgot everything now lol...The blonde girl, with the white dress, who was the princess of Rohan or something, Elwyn or something lol, she was going to have sex with Faramir in the bath or something lol but both of them objected to Peter about it (but you know they wanted to do it really lol)

P.S. Every single Lotr film won more than 5 Oscars, I'm quite sure. I think Return of the King got a total of 11 Oscars. That's bloody brilliant.

Also, I prefer longer movies especially in the cinema, you're there for like FOUR hours with your mates, so much more fun

LotR had a great story, J.R.R. Tolkien's stuff serves as the basis for lots of modern fantasy, but damn, Han Solo was a badass.

Both are very good movies, but I definitely prefer Star Wars. The clones are awesome lol.

Well, I can't really say - I haven't watched any StarWars movies yet(although we do have some of them on DVD).
LOTR however, we have all three movies on DVD, and we watched the extended version of them all - AWESOME.
The music was nice, lots of action, complex plot, nice camera work, and it was just plain awesome. The ending was a bit sad for my tastes though...
