Events forum changes

By Kevin on 12/01/2011
So, in case you haven't noticed, I have done some tweaking with the organization of the events forums. This was all done in an effort to get more attention to our PvP events and our competitions. Overall, I think everything is much better organized.

Anyway, here is an overall summary of what was changed:
  • "Private Events" forum re-named to "Raids, Wars, and PKRIs". This forum is to be used for all of our mandatory PvP events.
  • "Competitions" forum created. This forum will be used for any competitions (posting challenges, boss hunting comps, etc).
  • "Skill of the Week" and "Combat Skill of the Week" moved to "Competitions" forum as sub-forums.
  • Description of "Competitions" forum will now include the 'Champions" of the previous SOTW and CSOTW. This will hopefully add more incentive to win - having your name for all to see for two weeks smile.gif.
  • "Private Events" sub-forum added to "Community Events" forum. This will be for any event that a member creates that they don't want to be crashed by the public (ex. 76k games).

The "Event Recap" forum will continue to be used as it was before, in case you're wondering about that.

So, there you have it. Hopefully nobody is too confused happy.gif

Comments/criticism welcomed.

Nice changes, but i'm willing to bet money that this:

Will not be updated...

Just seems like you've made more forums and sub-forums which just makes it more effort to look through and make sure you've checked all of them. Also harder to remember where something should be.

Well, here's how I see it...

Instead of events, wars, raids, and competitions all being in one forum (like it was before), it's now easy to distinguish where to find PvP events, normal events, and competitions.

The only reason it would be hard to remember where to find something is because you're not used to it yet. Of course it might take a while to get used to it, just like with any change, big or small, in someone's life.

I noticed it as soon as I came to the forums today, I like it better this way.
