Lets focus

By Randy on 14/01/2011
We have about 99% of our week to be silly on Runescape.
Come showtime it needs to stop.

Remember when there were "no talking" rules IN-GAME AND ON TS? This kept everyone focused. They were always listening to leader's instructions. During the Solace war people were singing cotton eye joe and doing emotes and shit - it's not funny, it's distracting and bringing us down. Kyle: You told them to shut up and they didn't. At this point either warn them or mute Teamspeak. I'm all for having a good time but wars are serious and when we lose it lowers morale so take the smiles off your face and you'll have a bigger one later.

We need to make what's important mandatory. I'm talking about MAGES, snipers, anti-snipers, checking for a balanced number of different styles, and spears. We're being lazy. EVERY F2P war we run out of binders and EVERY P2P war we run out of mages. Always.

Callers: Take a deep breathe. Just be clear, that's all. Think about how "Get on Darth he's spamming!" sounds to a member rather than "Get on Darth the mage to the far west!" Try to avoid the spamming thing and what they're wearing. LOCATIONS are the most important, especially in P2P when everyone's spread out. You don't have to do any of that advanced switching stuff because WG just isn't ready for it.

If a member gets KOed repeatedly or is generally sucking at something (like never getting on TS or never returning) please tell help them. Just like in 300 a unit can be defeated by its weaknesses.

Also, it's obvious we're getting a lot of new members that have absolutely no PvP experience. We need like a tutorial or something that's not a 10,000 word guide.

We need to start hunting down clans. Rivalries can really make a clan stronger by motivating the members. When we head out on raids with no goal it either ends up with us fighting welf, getting little to no action, or getting cleared by a top clan. 420 is shit, just saying.

Me and Aragon decided we're going to mute TS for every war, for a start..

Alot of people avoid maging cause its a pain in the arse when your a target. Then you feel like shit cause it gets to the end of the war and your being piled. Your all out of food and everyone is just like 'wow tank it please'. No food cause their always getting sniped. I had this problem today and felt like shit for it.

I reckon everyone that has 99 Def + Mage should be required to mage. Regardless of their ability to tank. I know that I'm not an amazing tank and the fact that im 91 Def and one of the only magers is a pain.

138's must mage.

Quitting at it is not the solution.

Where does 99 summoning and prayer come into this?

But alas, i'ld be really unhappy if forced to mage. I don't enjoy wars particularly - but i've really made an effort recently to attend them all, even though their at bad times for me.

If forced to mage, i'ld just 100% put anything real life above them - I don't play games to not enjoy them. Even if it's just doing extra-work.

I don't like maging and I bought 99 so I wouldn't have to mess around with it at all.

(I don't mind f2p maging though tongue.gif)

I don't mean 20 of us in robes all maging at once.
If you bring it you can start with melee and if our mages get downed we'll have you as a back up.

By Aragon on 15/01/2011
In PvP I agree if you have a Yak you should mage because you have the ability to yak back kills and your robes before you die. As for Clan Wars, it's not good to waste so much inventory space, but we did have a lot of Mages the first round...

Anywho as Kyle said, we're going to mute TS during wars. If anybody has a problem then talk in the clan chat or in #wg. I took away everybody's channel admin so only ranks can talk during wars when necessary. Randy I left you with yours because you're a quiet guy and since your only intentions are to do good for the clan I left you with it.

I agree with muting TS for wars.
If you can't call then their no point other than being a distraction.

Please make sure you have a list of callers though, like giving me talk power for example would be useless since I couldn't call today. Just make sure whoever is calling knows.

By Armybuilder1 on 15/01/2011
The only problem i can see with muting us all in wars is that well. As we saw with the third round. If you all the callers die. then no one else can call...

Must admit sorry randy teh cotton eye joe thing was my bad.

Everyone should be Hybriding anyway. Anyone with 90+ mage should be maging no matter what. Raids are different again personally this topic should stick to warring issues than raids.

I know some people believe in the thrown in at the deepend mentality to tanking (which personally i think is where wg's big problem lies) people need to be guided into it. Fight some weak clans just to practise tanking on. Find some rubbish teams something like that and just leave callers mixed in with new guys and some of the usual warrers.

Or maybe (dont know if there is) We need to set a defence level requirement for WG?

But Randy's right We need something better than just a 10k word guide on warring. A few vids with commentary might be helpful. (got one im working on atm that ill put up soon sadly its not a wg war but the method is the same)

Perhaps it might be good for once a month to have an interclan war to get everyone tanking the smaller numbers getting them ready to what they need to do so they can do it on a bigger scale.

By Aragon on 15/01/2011
We'll unmute TeamSpeak if it comes to that, or temporarily voice one or two backup callers.
