How Am I Doing?

By His_Lordship on 28/01/2011
So we're about 3 weeks into my newfound activity following the announcement I made to better my leadership.

With school starting (and me being a teacher), my activity will drop a little two weeks from now, but not too much.

No suck-ups please. Just vote.
I need the feedback to decide whether "founder" rank should be a sideline job, so that WG can have a more active leader... or else if my activity is adequate, founder rank can also mean primary leader as it traditionally has.

By George on 28/01/2011
I personally think you are doing well, although it is hard to compare, since you are always supremely active at the time of the Anniversary anyway.
But I for one see you on IRC often and even more in game and on the forums, and i like the way your activity is going.
So i think you are almost there.

The only thing I would say is that it would have been nice to see the Clanniversary Recaps being posted 1-2 days after the event, unless it was your intention not to, of course.

You're doing good Gene, keep it up smile.gif

By Jayson on 28/01/2011
you're on alot, more than most, it's good.

By ZurvivorMan on 28/01/2011
Good.

By Indivi2you on 28/01/2011
I think you're just about where you should be at for a Primary leader. Doing well Gene, but the news of dropping activity in about 2 weeks is a heart breaker.

I guess we'll see what happens then.

By Garrett on 28/01/2011
im pacific, and i dont see you on very often

as a leader i think you should be active on runescape as well as forums
i also think it would be nice to be able to talk to you on teamspeak more often

By Randy on 28/01/2011
What do you mean by activity?
Idling on Runescape and IRC doesn't better your leadership.
It's about being online and making the most use of that time.

Not that you're not, just pointing that out..

By Aragon on 28/01/2011
A secondary American leader would be beneficial, it's great that you're online for the Aussie times and late Americans but during the day for Americans, not so much.

By VEPHYSAURAS on 28/01/2011
Not voting till after Anniversary.

We're not good enough apparently :<

Naa, im the first to critisize, and from what I can see your doing a good job. Keep it up.

By Nick on 29/01/2011
For being in the Aussie timezone, I believe you are doing well. A lot better than before, but not ideal for a leader. I know it would be hard for you to be the perfect leader because outside of RuneScape and WG you have many other things in real life, but a little more activity both on RuneScape and on forum posts would be great.

There is a huge difference between a Leader and Council. We have something called a Hierarchy, where a Leader is higher up than a Council. They have different expectations and abilities.

By His_Lordship on 29/01/2011
Well, I can't give any more than what I have given.
I cannot possibly lift my game without compromising my real life.

Nice ummm sharing of timezones?

By Kyle on 30/01/2011

Until somebody promising comes from the British timezone, yes, lol. Currently there's nobody who is suitable for a rank rank [with interest that is] from Europe, and considering American is SO different from Australian (-15 or something...), a leader from the American timezone would be beneficial. Also take into consideration the mix of members from all different places around the world.

I'm speaking my opinion, not what's going to happen necessarily. If you're going to have a spas over every little thing I say I'd rather you take it to PM.

This is not an attack on council, just a statement that your activity and your exp gains match that of council, therefore Founder rank should not be a sideline rank.

Darth leaves in a month. You will be the most active council member we have.

As for the TimeZone sharing, I think it is equal atm, although if Founder were to become a sideline rank, aussie unit has Jayson and thats it ohmy.gif.

Aragon, considering this clan has survived for 7 years with an Australian leader I don't think the time zone difference (+10 btw) is bad. Considering most people only sleep for 7-9 hours.

Not quite... tongue.gif Lordy has not been the only leader of WG.

oh be careful about doing that, or else you'll be marked as personally attacking people when you actually aren't

Gene,

As I'm sure you already know, I've been in my fair share of clans, teams, and what have you, and never in all of my years of being a Runescape junky have I once met anyone who gives as much to a community as I have seen you give to this one. You see it's not really about what measure of time you put into the game, it's the heart and soul that you give for the community. You've really made Wilderness Guardians a place that people have a desire to be. You inspire people not just in Runescape but in their real life endeavors as well. If you want my honest to Gods opinion then here it is:

Wilderness Guardians would not be the same without you. The community would lack that special feeling that no one else has the ability to bring upon the members of this clan and as a result people would lose faith and interest. This is your kingdom, this is your family. Take a look at the family you've built Gene. Your the head of this "household" and I don't think anyone wants it any other way.

So when you ask us to rate your performance, consider this. No one is perfect and you can't expect to walk through life without stepping in the muck now and again. It's bound to happen sometime, but that doesn't mean that people will think any less of you for it. You're a astute leader, and though you might have a few areas that you or others may feel need improvement, who doesn't have things to improve upon?

As you once said you may not be the strongest or the most influential but you are the most caring and well cut person for the job that you do here. Like a key fits a lock, you fit the position of Leader. People respect you because you respect them and you've given them what they otherwise may not have had; a family and acceptance. So I kudos you my friend, for all of the hard work that you've done for everyone who has been, is, or will be a part of this community. I thank you Gene for allowing me to be part of such a wonderful family. Don't stop what your doing because you're doing perfectly fine.

My Regards,
:Brent147
