HALP

Basically...every time i start up my laptop, windows explorer just crashes...and restarts..over and over. Only way I can use it..is by safe mode..and thats it. I've ran virus scan after virus scan. Disabled majority of services that are un needed. Removed all no essential startup programs...nothing...still does it..HALP

I aslo had that problem. I Had to send it to some people to get it fixed.
aparently there was something that had happend to my hard-drive(hard disk or whatever you call it)

Back up computer to external hard drive.
Reformat.

Assuming you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7 (the instructions would be slightly different for XP, but the command is the same):
In the Search box (in the start menu, in Safe mode)
Type: COMMAND
Right click it and choose Administrator
In the command prompt type: sfc /scannow
Or choose "Start Safe Mode with command prompt" and then type: sfc /scannow
directly into the prompt (its the only thing that will load in that particular safe mode option)

Comes up with unnable to repair some files, still does it. Already tried that twice. Lols.

I don't know what OS you are using, but this worked for Vista and most likely Windows 7 (but I've never had to do it for 7)
If you have the OS disk (preferably one that has the same service pack version).
Boot into Windows (let explorer crash) then, assuming the disk autoruns (if not, try in safe mode) choose install, then chose upgrade/custom (i don't remember the exact option, but the goal is to take advantage of the Windows Anytime Upgrade feature to replace your system files). Make sure you upgrade to the same sku you are already running (so you can use your same product key).
^ Note, this will wipe out any system restore points, so if you haven't tried that already, do so first.

Back up anything important and restore Windows. Works a treat for the less tech minded people.

when my comp breaks down i just scream at it and bang on its keyboard......yes i have a lot of bottled anger <3
very effective for ppl who dont know ANYTHING about computers.... and very effective for ppl who need to vent their feelings lol <3
