They can be killed and burned for various rewards. You must have done Shades Of Mort'ton in order to burn shades and enter the tomb. Also, we recommend you to permanent cure the shopkeeper Razmire (use serum 207 on flaming fire altar with sanctity over 20% and do the "In search of the Myreque" quest, which provides you with an easier route to Mort'ton. There is a bank in the town below Mort'ton if you have done the quest In Aid of the Myreque. If those who haven't done the quest (and don't have the bank) want to let others who have bank some items for later, it could help as you won't take as long banking in Canifis or carrying large amounts of noted items/cash. Sacred oil is tradable, so others can bank it for you if you would like. The first part was held last weekend and during this event the attendees collected sacred oil and put it on logs to create pyre logs (See table below). Get ready for both these events by stocking up on what wood you can burn as pyre logs! With the new shop updates, you will not need to stock up on sacred oil or building supplies. Here's a list of what firemaking level you need for each type of log, what shade you can burn with it, and the exp from it. Start collecting your logs for great rewards!  Pic from RuneHQ Sign-ups:

Thanks to all who came.
We met at Yanille Bank in World 77 (The Temple Building World) and walked to the house portal in Yanille and took my canafis portal in my house.
We then took the shortcut under the canafis pub and took the little swamp boaty to Mo'orton.

Pyroclastic had never been before and instead of deciding not to come (like many people), came along and I taught him how to do it and he had fun!!
This was my first time burning magic pyre logs (since I got 80 firemaking yesterday, specially for the event), so I was ready to get major loot!!
Thank you VERY much to those who came.
I will be hosting another one of these events (both parts) for the Americans, since this was at 5am for them and non-surprisingly hardly any of them came

To be honest Kiwi, it will take quite a long time.
It's probably like 10-15 minutes per 28 oils.
I am sure I can give you like 5, not many though
