War forum layout

By Elyxiatic on 15/02/2011
I know we have a lot of trial raid leaders, but no wonder you're pulling terrible to planned wars when your war forum is looking as terrible as this.

user posted image

Circled in green is the standard that all topic in the forum should represent. It
a ) Tells me its upcomming
b ) Tell me what type of war it is (f2p/p2p/matched/fullout)
c ) Tells me the date of the war;
all before I open the topic itself.

With so many war topics in the forum, I want to find the war that's coming up first, but atm, to do this, I have to open every single topic. No wonder your pulls are terrible, if people are checking the forum the night before, I honestly can't be bothered spending 10 mins to find the next war.

Following on from this, every single one of those war topics has a really poor layout. I do NOT want to scroll through a whole page to find out the rules/times/location. Honestly, go to the forum, open up one of the war topics, and you have to scroll through a whole page to even get to the times. Banners are stupid at the top, this isn't tipit/rsc, if I wanted to see our clan banner I'd look at the top of the forums.

Spacing on these topics is terrible as well. You do not need 50 spaces between lines when you're stating the rules of the war. Basically, the things I need to know are -
a ) Times of the fight
b ) Who we're fighting (inc. memberlist)
c ) Rules
all in 1 condensed space, so I can read it on 1 page.

The part that I do like is the sign ups and war times. Spacing is perfect and its just plain + simple. Make the whole topic like that please.

Support. Agreed. Have the same feelings. Would help greatly.

wars need to be spammed, mass PMs need to be send out, warns need to be given to those who don't sign up/skip/say yes but don't attend. (I did the last, where is my 20%?).

I agree, it looks shithouse and like any old topic if you don't keep some kind of format to it..

Also, the recaps have been looking bad since I've been back, no dates, or details in title just a few words

Mass PM's to everyone. It works for the people that just check their PM inbox and nothing else. If people bitch about it they arent committed enough to be here.

Agreed on all points that you mentioned

My bad on the tipit war. Hadnt finished sorting it yet i just wanted to get it on the boards before i closed irc and i had to trail through logs until i found it again.

At least my first one was right.

As for the Format of the actually posts. That was what We were suggested by Darth and then we just edit. I can write a new one up thats alot more simpler if you wish though.

Look better?

Yeah thanks kyle, looks at least a bit more condensed.
If you're making a war, try not to put banners on the topic, but include the memberlist of the other clan.

By Woof on 15/02/2011
I like that a lot more Kyle (derp mistake), and just a link to the member list is suffice for me.

I'll take some responsibility for this.

However, if you look at the events tab at the top of the forums, I always put [WAR] in front of any wars, along with a general description of the fight. The time/date is there if you hover your cursor over the event, too.

There's a problem with the clock on the events tab.. the minutes section (when it gets down to single digits) has no zero. It goes from 10 minutes to 9 minutes.. not 09 minutes. "3 day, 12:1:19" seems wrong. it should be "3 day, 12:01:19".

You can still understand it, can't you?

I can't fix that, regardless.
