Future Applicant system
By Zooby69 on 15/02/2011
Do you think WG taking on a Future Applicant system, like most major clans have, is a good, progressive move, and agree that we should have this system.
Yes or No.
I think the future applicant system will allow us to weed out inactive members/allow for lower leveled members (100? 105?) to join us early and get to know the community, raid with us, get comfortable with the idea of clanning as a whole. Also it will make our memberlist more accurate, not having 15 inactive trial guardians, which allows us to gauge what clans we should be fighting.
Opinions?

To join community yes.... Raid/war no. Practice war yes.

I could tell you who will be active based on their applications alone.
By Bambaleo on 15/02/2011
i actually don't see a reason why we should not have it.
WG would not be the only one to profit from this but also the applicants. They would have a chance to take a better look at WG...since we had a few members leaving a week after accepting their application.

I voted no.
The trial guardian rank is meant to do the same thing, except council are allowing many members through past the 30 day trial period, which gives us many inactive members.
I think the trial guardian rank should just be reworked to make it better.
This can be done by being harsher on activity. Make it 5 events in 2 weeks instead of 30 days. With the amount of events we have on offer, this is easily achieved, and then we know the member will be active.

^^ this
..i know im only a trial guardian but thats just what i consiterd this rank to bee when i applyed..a future app kinda thing..not a full member yet but still consiterd part o the clan for a short period to prove that i can be a good/active member

Voted no, just need to crack down on the inactives more harshly and not let so many shitheads through. Just because they post a graduation, doesn't necessarily mean they are a good member.

This has always been a problem and I agree totally, just because someone makes the requirements for graduation doesn't always make them suitable.
With the new stance on 'trolling' I hope staff keep a close eye on Trials and have pretty much a zero tolerance stance on them causing issues.
By Armybuilder1 on 15/02/2011
I voted yes but only if the trial rank is scrapped as they are the same thing. Trials need to be redone if you want them to work as a good application system
By Lee on 15/02/2011
Have them do a continous blog of there activty for a month, then at the end of the month and only if they have the levels can they then be assessed if they are active.

I'm not sure what it was, was a long time ago, didn't we used to let them join as skillers until they got high enough combat, because we tried it I thought and had lots of lower levels joining, eh not sure.

Tweak the trial guardian system that we have right now. We need to set our standards a bit higher. 30 days is way too long of a time to meet the requirements to graduate. If we want to move forward as a PvP clan we need to have higher standards.

This. As I've said from day 1, we're too lax on our members. I've tried to push change, but the only ones who listened are the ones who don't need it.

I think it needs changing to separate ML's as some can just pull us down, and also some just go inactive from day one and it takes staff a while to eventually give them the boot, as they have toi wait to confirm inactivity.
Also i have noticed we need to be more strict on graduation time, alot of TG are over there month now

Yep, that was during the 'sectors' bit though and that ended up being a fairly big failure in the end.... I know Gene wouldn't be interested in trying anything similar again.
I think a separate Trial Guardian memberlist isn't a bad idea really, as Vulcan points out any action taken due to inactivity takes time and it could potentially give people a better idea of our 'strength'

Exactly this.
I don't feel that bringing in a NEW system would be at all helpful.
Just change the trial system to fit with what we need.... simple.
