I did the soul searching in my bout of inactivity.
It really does hurt and makes me feel like a shit human being to leave you guys unattended.
I've lost a number of friends in WG because of my lack of dedication.
You're a second family, and every one of you matters.
So I make this pledge of ten things, which I must keep at all times.
May it be known to all of you, to my God, and to future members.
I, His Lordship, pledge:- To attend at least one planned fight every week. If one does not exist, I will create one
- To attend at least one non-wilderness event every week
- In the above two items, one must be in the American or European timezone so that the majority of WG can SEE my activity
- To spend five hours MINIMUM playing Runescape outside my WG obligations every week, on training or skilling
- To idle on the IRC while I am at work, so that clan members can approach me more often*
- To post a sign-up for every single planned fight that gives a day's notice or more
- To post win topics on Tip.it and RSC for as much exposure as possible
- To not come online while intoxicated
- To visit the forums every day and respond to all PM's that require it
- To update the clansite every month
* I will not respond for up to an hour if I am teaching.

Notice these are all personal statements. Nothing that relies on someone else. That way, if there's any failure, only I am to blame. Now, the reason you can be sure I'll follow through with this is that now I am motivated by grief.
I have lost too much on my watch. We had 80 members not long ago. The ball was rolling and I failed to rise to meet the activity standards. Gary was the last straw, and there's another I know to be leaving. When they do, emptiness will live where passion once was. I must fight to keep you guys going strong.
On a list of commitments, you guys are right behind family, friends, study, and work.
That puts you in my top five, above working out, above music, above any usual pastime. Enough rambling, I'm getting mushy. Just know that I'm sick of letting you down. Literally sick in the stomach at the thought of it.

Additionally there is going to be one major change. Very rarely do I bypass the council and tertiary input on something like this but there's not way it won't happen.
[u]Raids are no longer mandatory if you are online.[/b]
Maths raised a good point. They don't contribute
at all to our growth. It's world switching, getting bank loot. There's nothing beneficial from them apaart from that. They don't teach organisation all that much since we don't fight any major clans - we're not ready. At some stage we'll have more unplanned fights, but right now we are not ready.
Raids, now being optional, should still have similar attendance though. They are still enjoyable and we've got into the habit of having those regular times, and eventually we'll be fighting other clans regularly on them. The only reason they are now optional is because I'd rather you spend your effort on the planned fights, which are
many times more important. If you had to choose to assign your limited hours, pick the planned fights.
I'll work on getting a standardised planned fight time to fill every week. That way you'll know there's always a fight at that time. Perhaps 5pm EST on a Sunday. They seem best. I'll do that in consultation with you all.
Anyway, that's my little spiel. I pledge to give those things as the bare minimum, and on top of that, things like the Aussie raid, more apps etc. You'll notice that when I vowed to improve, I gave a set number, this will ensure no cheating or corner cutting.

Randy, thanks for this idea.
If you guys have a pledge, post so as well.
Let's all agree to be active.
