(16:24:05) <Garrett_xD> (08:24:12) <Garrett_xD> Dallar?

It's happening again.. This time with my name being abused. Please look out for PM's from me. Take a look at my name in the quotebox above. Upper case I looks like lower case L in IRC. I know Kung already suffered from this earlier... Just a heads up guys. We're being attacked by phishers again.

Please always make sure when you get links from ANYBODY that you can get a confirmation on what the link is or who the person is.. If not, don't open the link.

Refer to Aragons post below on how to work against phishing:

QUOTE
Recently there has been a few phishing links going around in IRC. To prevent your nickname from being stolen, EVERYBODY should type this once connected and identified on IRC:

/ns set kill quick

You will get a message that looks like:

[12:18 PM] -NickServ- Protection is now ON, with a reduced delay.

Lordy has typed it, now nobody will be able to send phishing links as if they change their nickname to His_Lordship, it will change to Anonymous#'s after a few seconds without being identified.

This will help prevent phishing/scamming links in the future.

Banned from IRC for phishing links, distributing phished material, and ban evading. Gf me

That is a fine effort there, as if anyone in WG has enough to be worth hacking lawls.

All i can say is the number 1 cure for this problem is using a little common sense, and I'm sorry, but if you lack it, that's your own problem.

I mean like seriously, why would Dallar be sending us a pm about a private server? (And yes, i received the same PM)

This pretty much covers my thoughts exactly....

I've been getting hit really hard by phishing "Jagex Emails" but I never open them.

I guess I'm lucky because I haven't gotten -any- of this stuff, but I hope I continue to not get any.

Just remember guys as well, use a bank pin!!!!
