Attention Highers+

By Randy on 06/04/2011
Just like the RS Anniversary event we can expect a butt load of intros and new members.
Unfortunately last time we let a lot of them slip away.
I think this was because there was so many we couldn't give each member attention.

I'm just asking that you all post on their intros/apps/hellos and give them a warm welcome.
Also to greet them in IRC and possibly get some chat going.

We're in desperate need of new members and we can't let this opportunity slip by again.

u said in application and introductions you can tell if they will be commited, are we going to up our reqs for applying for the time being so we dont get people who spend 5minutes on there app and intro

Well yes effort is important.
But with a large crowd of people joining at once it's easy to feel lost.

K ill set myself a link to the intro forum.

The time to sort can also be between the trial and time of graduation. If they get in as trials and we see trouble they don't have to graduate. I'm being strict on the gear too.

Just to confirm, can we still invite them to events if they arent exactly accepted?

I will be returning to a full member for the next two months so I will post on every intro and will be asking rachel for my mentor position back biggrin.gif

Community events, yes.
Official WG raids, if it's okay with the raid leader.
Wars, obviously no.

Some people are uncomfortable/unsure about introductions. Not everyone will write an essay, doesn't mean they won't become a pillar of the community like myself

They can come to wars to watch just not fight lolz hash.png

It's all about the personal touch.
Say hello to them when they enter the IRC, make them feel welcome, EVEN IF THEY ARE ONLY GUESTS AND NOT MEMBERS.
If they provide a first name, use it, call them by it. Personal touch.

Involve yourselves with them and they will involve theirselves with WG.

George just pretty much said what I was going to.

I'm looking to be more active lately. I will definitely be looking out for new people, but if anyone has the name John when they join, too bad, I come first! >.<
