Good Gaming PC
By WizardOfGod on 07/04/2011
Any suggestions need to buy a new pc.
By Kevin on 07/04/2011
Do you play any games other than RuneScape?

Also, what's your price range?
Do you need a new monitor, mouse, keyboard, headphones, speakers, etc., or just a PC?
By WizardOfGod on 07/04/2011
idc price and prob just a tower or w/e and only scape i wanna be able to play high quality and vid.
By Mickey on 20/04/2011
I could play RS fullscren with max settings on my old PC, which had 2GB RAM and a dual core processor, so you don't really need anything too powerful.
By Raging Mage2 on 20/04/2011
RS can get played on a piece of napkin with internet connection, just be hip and get an apple or whatever you kids do these days, or if you want, make your own, because normally premade computers that are built for gaming cost alot more coin than building yourself
By WizardOfGod on 20/04/2011
i need it to hold a few other games be able to record wars and shit. Lastly download music and run fine

To be honest, just find any Dell/HP/Gateway PC at your local BestBuy for around $500 and you should be happy, Wiz.
Things I would look for in it, though...
- i3, i5, or i7 Intel processor
- 2GB+ RAM
- A dedicated video card
By Guardian Bhuler on 20/04/2011
well im getting a beastly deal here shortly it's a 1terabyte memory with 6 Gig RAM

only $600 buy a desktop they are much cheaper.
By Mickey on 20/04/2011
I wouldn't even look at the i5, or the i7 if I were you. You'd be wasting the so much power by only playing RS with it. Go for the i3, with like 2-3GB RAM and maybe a GeForce or a low-end Radeon.

I got 2x GT250S 3TB HDD, bluray drive, an actually GOOD case, i7 equivelant processor, in terms of speed capabilities, 8gb ram which is also just what I can remember off the top of my head, not at home atm. for $1100
or. $560 for my laptop = 2gb ram, 512mb dedicated graphics 500gb HDD, dual core processor, is what I can remember off the top of my head.

Please tell me you use it to play more than just Runescape

Not trying to be rude or anything but I don't think you should build your own PC unless you're really interested in doing it.
I agree, it's not hard to do (I built my PC myself) but when it goes wrong it is so much easier to have a Dell/Hp/anything with a warranty. Before you even think about building a PC you have to be sure that you can be bothered dealing with the hassle that can sometimes come with them, and if you only want a PC for playing scape & being able to record it I doubt you'd need anything better than a pretty affordable one of Dell/HP etc.
Spec's I'd look for (as a minimum):
2.4Ghz+ Dual core processor
2 Gb of Ram
250 GB+ Hard Drive (though it depends allot on if you download many movies/songs etc?)
Graphics Card is the hard bit, definitely would need to be a discrete card but something along the lines of:
nVidia: GT 240, GTS 250, GTX 260 or higher (anything in the 400 series will be fine as well). I've tried a GT 210 with RS before and it worked.... just.... I have a GTS 250 at the moment and it runs scape very well on max.
AMD/ATI: 56XX (so for example 5670) or anything higher than that.
I hope that helps somewhat.... I'd suggest finding something within your budget and posting it up here, I'm sure everyone would be happy to take a look and help.

Haha, I used to Multi Box WoW accounts when I was bored of raiding ^^? Could handle maxxed graphics on 4 WoWs lol

Like everyone here is saying, if you only want to play RS then a cheap desktop would be fine.
Also I agree with JC, there is no point in building a PC yourself for the low end the difference is price is pretty small and it would save quite a bit of hassle.
Look for something with:
Dual Core - 2.4GHz ish
2-3GB Ram
500GB-1TB HD (The difference in price is pretty minimal and I find it nice to have the space, but if you are looking to drop the price you could save a bit here)
For the graphics card, i'm not sure what the requirements are for running Runescape Full screen in HD. Maybe something like a 5450/5550?

Just recently built this pc around start of year:
i7-990X Extreme (12M Cache, 3.46 GHz)
8gb (ram dual channel)
2x GTX570 SLI
5tb HD space
Water cooling
1550w Thermatake power supply
Blueray writer
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Sound card
x58a-UD3r Gigabyte Ultra durable 3 motherboard
Cost about $2600 for all the parts and this is a top of the range gaming computer.

Would say get a Alienware area-51 alx but u could probly get a better one if u build it yourself.
I myself bought a ALX for £2.500 but my friend has made a pc that is the same specs as mine for £1,500 to £2,000 (IN GB STERLIN) i think he said. But tbh i only bought the alienware because its a ALIENWARE but seriously make your own it would be cheaper.
But i play more then just scape on my pc e.g All the CoDs, Counter strike 1.6, source PFWI, AoE ,Ld2t Diablo 2, GTA SA, IV, MINECRAFTT, Starcraft 1 & 2

Just had to correct you there
I used to think Alienware was great, they do make good PC's but if you're going to spend that much on a PC then you are
probably an enthusiast so you're better off spending half the amount on a homebuilt (as you suggest).
I actually can't ever see myself buying a 'branded' desktop again
I do wonder what the absolute minimum specs to play RS on full graphics would be (So max AA, a res of something like 1920*1080 etc).
