By Randy on 10/04/2011

Seriously surprised it wasn't crashed lol
The outcome was obvious from the start really.
They had no organization and were all low leveled... we pwned.
Our pull was incredible and the transitions were pretty good.
Only complaint: There were A LOT of you not listening.
I clearly called a pile in the middle of GDZ and a good amount of you were spread around it etc.
Fall ins were a bit slow as well.
We still feasted and had a good bit of fun.
Thanks for coming

I was finding it hard to find the people you were talking about in the centre, so i was just auto casting on random people while i got a click on them.
I think there was a bit of slacking due to the easiness of the fight tbh

agreed with raging, thats another reason y i decided on not joining clans like df/solace, cuz it would be to big and hard to find piles in gdz

I noticed a few things:
1. Being F2P, I was always running out of run. It's hard to find and chase down piles while walking.
2. 1V30 in F2P is overkill, and not the most efficient use of our members: As soon as a pile was called, the person was downed. We spent more time forming up than actually killing people. I think next time we should divide up into a couple of channels, have a couple of callers so we can get more people killed in the same amount of time. I figure 10-15 would be fair for f2p, perhaps 6-10 per pile in P2P. We'd want to set TS up so the overall leader could give all the teams instructions, as well as each team leader calling piles.
3. Location location location: We need all callers to keep up a constant verbal string of location, name and any other information. It's hard to find someone if you don't know their name which happens easily if you get distracted in the midst of the war.

30 isnt overkill
They were just low level and couldnt tank

Dont be so harsh on the people who werent on the pile. Theirs always people who have trouble finding the pile at times, because of the scale of the fight, so might aswell hit someone else. I am one of those people.

Having been in warring clans pre-wildy removal, I have to strongly agree with this statement.
It's easy enough to get pissed off at people who aren't attacking the target you are, but you also have to remember that there is mass confusion in fights, and sometimes it's decently hard to pull a single guy out of a pile when the only thing that is being called is "west!" Where is west? West of what? Sometimes people need to get their bearings, and while they're doing that I think they're much better off fighting down someone else while looking for their target than sitting with their thumbs up their asses.
I'd also like to make another comment on the issue of the rage-bind that really turned me off of PvP. this "hybrid" style that's heavily worshiped seems to be ineffective when you're trying to be mobile in rune. Casting binds while trying to melee someone is going to fail 98% of the time (which was the case). Instead of trying to make everyone hybrid binders and cost them three spaces of food, why not set aside dedicated mages with a rune set for tanking who are practiced at binding, that way everyone else isn't worried about shuffling through their spell books to bind, clicking their str pot, trying to find a target, trying to chase the target, trying to fall in again, re-shuffling through their spell books, rinse, repeat.
Tl;dr: It's my strong opinion that the mass confusion caused during the fight was from poor directions and complications with the hybrid system. Perhaps we, as a clan, should take a bit to debate the necessity of a two-style system with all builds, and take a few days to rename cardinal directions and things like that to fixed landmarks (calling pentagram instead of "center" for instance) since not everyone will be at a position relative to the name caller?
Either way, I had fun.
