I get frustrated too at times but I know that's the state of our clan and we will have to live with it. I don't think it'll help telling people that coming to events will benefit us at all. People only come to our "small" events to get the events required for graduation. There are always a few loyal to WG activities but no where enough to make the event succesful.
Now I won't attack you and Mark's events because people enjoy them and find them most interesting of all normal events but like mentioned above, you haven't been doing anything else but hosting boss hunting events. You must show creativity to catch peoples attention.
My last two competitions (Mortal Kombat and Heavens slayer challenge) took days for me to plan because I wanted things to go differently than normal. Although the competitions don't look like much of a hard work, they are. It's all about getting fresh ideas and showing them to the members. My slayer event had like 15-20 active participants and I expect my Mortal Kombat tournament to exceed 15-20 as well.
I have listed some things that might help you:
- Be creative (Don't just host a firemaking event at G.E. like I did a week ago.. People won't attend because it makes no sense to light a fire. Although I disagree because it shows our ingame activity it's the not the way for our members to go)
- Be flexible (Listen to what people has to suggest. It's always for the better)
- Send PM's (I do this and I often get people to notice things they wouldn't. Sad story but sad truth)
- Let there be rewards (People love rewards; it doesn't have to be friggin' expensive all the time but in competition that lasts for a long time I tend to be a little generous as it get's people to attend
- Host events a week before event start (People will see your topic and they will have some time to find out what it's all about)
- Be helpful (If people don't understand your event you must take your time to explain it to them)
