Don't know if serious?

First off before anyone gets all defensive, I don't know if the warning was actually enforced.

I can understand warnings being handed out for bumping old topics with useless spam and getting post count and I fully respect that, as it is a pain in the ass thinking there is a new topic that will be worth my time reading over and finding out it's irrelevant crap from months to years ago...But house of random, really? hashdown.gif.png

+1 this, twice a topic has been locked in house of random in the last 2 weeks.

By Reticked on 04/06/2011
Yeah I saw one I wanted to reply to also, it's not like it ups post count or anything - and I don't see how two or three months can hurt unless it's in like hellos/goodbyes, raids or in important announcements

Lol...

"Don't bump topics that don't serve any purpose anyway, in a forum that doesn't increase your post count, because it covers up all the other useless stuff in the forum made specifically for useless stuff."

By James on 04/06/2011
Thats sorta being an ass, warn level for bumping something in the house of random? Rofl

Power trippin'

By Jayson on 04/06/2011
First of all, i see how you can see this as me taking it over board.

HOWEVER

When he bumps old topics on a weekly basis, and I warn him in pm to not bump old topics, as well as making a topic about the matter, it doesn't matter what forum it was in, he should know better.

Also Zooby, just remember you are already on thin ice, I suggest not trolling me.

By Jayson on 04/06/2011
Just to let you know btw.

http://www.wildernessguardians.com/forum/i...?showtopic=9355 was the topic in which I sent him a PM warning him about bumping old topics.

A 2 year bump should never happen.

Its house of RANDOM.....................

So anything goes in house of random?

Are you going to allow flaming and trolling and real life threats in house of random even though they are against our rules? No.

Where do we draw the line?

By James on 04/06/2011
That has nothing to do with what we where speaking about, we are talking about a mere bump from a couple months ago, anywhere else in the forum yeh warn him but not in the house of random :/

By WG_Keanu on 04/06/2011
Nothing useful could have come from the topic.
As opposed to something like THIS, which is bump-worthy.

I gave him a verbal warning to not bump any topics at all. He did it, he got warned.

There is nothing more to it.

I actually remember the hall of shame bumping...and I don't quite understand the problem there either really.

From my point of view (Doesn't mean it's technically right) it's to shame past members who have left on negative terms. If there was no intended reason for posts to be made at all about past victims to the hall then the topics should be closed from day dot the topic is made.

Seeing it from nufciv's point of view, he was making a comment about a former clan member that he used to play along side with. Which i see no real harm as i said before, hall of shame is open to discussion and to shame those members.

Where i would see harm is bumping an event that was hosted months beforehand, or bumping an IA months out of date.

But as I said this is just from my perspective and I'm not personally attacking you Jayson, was just looking for clarification from the council on where the line is drawn in concern with bumping topics.

As you say though, you have warned him and a warning is A warning.

You can voice your opinion, without trolling.

By Zooby69 on 05/06/2011
You need to check your definition of trolling. You take anything that isn't positive about you as a troll.

Thanks for the 20%.

You're escalating a mere bump to flaming/RL threats. You've clearly missed where the line is because a simple bump isn't it.
