Motivation
By VEPHYSAURAS on 04/06/2011
I don't see much of it at wars and it is starting to give me a bad feeling like I don't want to be here. Any advice on this? Thanks.
By Vulcan Sin on 04/06/2011
I feel the same...
People just see warring as a mediocre thing....24 yes' 17 attendies....people need to commit more.
By VEPHYSAURAS on 04/06/2011
It isn't just a recent thing, it happens all the time through out most of time I'm in WG. Today's war I'll be honest when it started I got that feeling straight away and it had a bad impact. If it continues this way I just don't enjoy it like this. If people don't come and worse yet don't care while being there...
What is the point of me being there? I'm just not having fun under those conditions and I feel wronged by the people that made themselves members of this clan. It isn't just simply frustration I'm feeling at the moment.

What we need is fresh blood.
In TBK, the majority of our members were recruited in-game. If you look at our videos, the levels weren't much but the quality of the piles, spams, binds and so on were top-class. The reason being, none of them had any clanning experience before us, which gave me the opportunity to educate them to my personal standards.
Now, imagine if we do the same for WG. Ignore the fansite recruitment, and we focus on recruiting in-game: people who have no clan world experience at all. Yes I know in-game recruiting is terrible, and maybe 20-25% of the applicants actually stay active, but I find it honestly has it's long-term advantages. What we do is train these people to be the way we want them to be in terms of PvP.
And what do we end up with? A new generation of members who we get the opportunity to convert to top-class warriors. They'll get into the habits of spamming non-stop, or returning without delay, or hybriding and tanking to the best of their ability. This is one I know for sure it works - I've done it, and it took me just 2 months.
If we can get the population of such a unit to just HALF our current memberlist, then with luck, the older members will follow suit. To coin the phrase, "you can't teach an old dog new tricks"... well, let's breed some new dogs then.
And to be honest, haven't we tried everything else already?

wg_keanu, i totally agree with what you said, but i dont see how that links in with motivation. people can be top class warriors but just are not motivated, there are several examples of that in this clan.

New members will want to see WG's rise and success, and they'll work to make it happen. A large portion of our current member base is lacking the motivation to do that right now.

Basically Motivation is done in two parts and without one you can’t have the other.
First of all motivation comes from people coming. There is not much action because people don’t come. I know for a fact today as soon as I got on and I saw we had 12 people with 10mins to go. I was like great... Lost all my motivation for the war. I made an excuse to end the phone conversation with my best friend for the damn war.
Second part and this follows on. Is people wanting to come to a war. If people don’t turn up you don’t feel like turning up yourself. New people are not going to change anything. We had them. Then people turned into spastics and they went elsewhere. But why did they go elsewhere and not just stick around. Because they have no motivation to come to wars because no one comes.
The problem is without one you can’t have the other. For some reason and this has been said time and time again. No one can get their act together unless someone says OOOH LORDY WAR BLAHBLAHBLAH. It shouldn’t be for us to motivate you. We had someone leave due to "wanting bigger fights" Hell half of the clan feels the same clearly but they can’t because people don’t turn up.
Keanu id listens to you more. If you turned up.
We've now lost all our PvP staff other than myself. Even I’m loosing motivation atm. I’m sure this is the reason for both Randy and Jayson but we make an effort to come to wars and do what we can. We are motivated. But then time and time again certain members let us down.
I can’t give you any advice Vephy at all I know the feeling exactly. I’m just not going to leave and ride out the rough. Clans go through shit. Atm the shit WG is going through is frankly half the ml just can’t be arsed.
It’s not up too just us too motivating you. You have to motivate yourself. If you can’t get yourself to get to wars then post excuses like Use the SMS or More spam. You’re not motivated. Set your own damn alarm on your phone, Watch or like myself on my PC.
Every member we have in WG at the moment is brilliant. I couldn’t personally ask for a nicer squad of guys and girls. But between us we have to realise that the shit WG is going through is caused by ourselves. New members are not going to solve anything. A new member coming into a community like this just turns into the community and looses their motivation.
Going to use Vulcan for this. The guys got a carp bank. Yet he's still at every war and returns faster and does what he's asked more than people who have banks 100x his. He's Motivated. He's got revision for exams. He's still able to give up an hour maybe 2 for a war maybe a raid or another event or simply sit on irc and talk. He is Motivated. Who motivates him? Not me, Not Randy, Not his lordship. Himself
Another example. Jared. The guys new... He’s come to us at a bad time. Yet he still does things on the side helps us out with sign ups. He still comes to everything yet from his point of view he must wonder why he’s here. But he’s motivated
Finally Garrett. The guy is here all the time. Atm he has broken his wrist meaning he can’t war. Yet he still comes to mass. And every other event he can. He is Motivated.
There are plenty others. These were just a couple off the top of my head.

dont worry vephy im feeling the same way. maybe if our leader was active we wud have some motivation but instead were worried over June 20th which he created :<
By jaredspurr on 05/06/2011
kat this has nothing to do with lord, it has to do with everone that says ya ill be there then dn't show up, or if ur studying for exams its saturday u can't miss an hr to an hr and a half at most for a fight, shows that alot of ppl dn't have the heart. when i first joined we pulled 30+ now we can't even pull 20 wat does that say about the members?
By Kat on 05/06/2011
Our leader doesnt attend any fights. Hes leading a runescape clan and yet he doesnt play runescape. Our members dont fucking attend events, dont attend wars, dont make raids. Council tried to do there best and yet most get treated like shit. i really dont care anymore about the members who slack off. i cant wait till june 20th. w00t
By Reticked on 05/06/2011
We should go back to the good ole days where fights were not only fun but hilarious - people spammed in game, said silly things during wars that took some of the seriousness off of it, and I always felt like we weren't there just to win but to have fun doing it
ENCOURAGE FUN
By Kat on 05/06/2011
i agree with keith
By rachellove9 on 05/06/2011
Girls just want to have fun, fun, fun, til our daddy gets home . . .
Yeah fun is by far the best thing for the clan.
TBH, we have like 9 members in Aussie which is a tough timezone and those guys get up for us a lot. Cheers to them.
Next consider that we have like 42 member list atm. This means that with all the timezones you can not expect to get pulls of 35 to 40 people. We do have people in Uni, exams, jobs, ect. . .
I'm recruiting in game and having a great deal of fun in the wildy just hanging out and chatting to people. I may not get a single recruit but I can at least say that I did not just sit behind this screen and complain. I actually am out in the game and trying to recruit. Some of you ran into me. lol It may be a silly thing to do but it is better than doing nothing at all. Start now and help me recruit.

Should I have gotten out and pushed the train back home then?
Or maybe paid another £130 for a peak-time ticket?
I was delayed, I let the staff know, and tried to make it back as fast as I could.
Does my inability to predict the future render my suggestions invalid?

You're totally going to make it as a council member blaming everyone else.

Exactly who am I blaming?

oh please do not start fighting. :[
By VEPHYSAURAS on 05/06/2011
Well there may be no definite answers here, but the self reflection is good in this topic. I can take a bit from what Reticked said for the last war. Things just felt kinda dead. Making it more silly might make things more interesting and less serious.
Recruitment is a part of things but it really is empty handed if the members are learning by our bad example. We also can't sit back and blame a higher authority or another member. What is the point of this?
I can remember a Council member at the time I worked with I thought I could trust. He would always complain about Gene or members not pulling through for us. He ended up really doing nothing himself but complain to me and I worked more. This is not the answer. We have to work on things ourselves but not alone and not quietly. Especially not against each other.
We are the Wildness Guardians but we are also friends. Friends shouldn't let each other down or complain about each other.

Don't be silly...i don't even have a bank lolz
Also it seems RDK are hot on us...that should motivate some members...it seems they want a rivalry...and it's a bit heated atm...so if that can't motivate members then...
By Wayshow on 05/06/2011
i get de-motivated when i die too much x_x
also... i forget to spam....

its hard to pay attention when its 4AM in the morning -.-
By Quikdrawjoe on 05/06/2011
