Porn posting and a potential solution?

Okay, this is just getting worse. I had 2 within 30 mins of each other today.

Basically my idea would be to have it that your first 5/10/20 posts require moderator validation. Why is this a good idea?

-We can filter any people spamming to get 25 posts for their app (see the guest forums where a guy posted on month old topics to get 25 posts recently)
-This will stop porn posting entirely.... 5/10/20 valid posts wouldn't take long to achieve if you were a real applicant for Wg, but a bot/porn poster isnt going to bother really

I know this could be considered a deterrent for applicants, but tbh if they can't be bothered getting 4/10/20 posts for WG they shouldnt really be intro'ing/apply'ing should they?

We could also have a note when registering an account notifying them that the first 5/10/20 posts will require Validation by a moderator, which may take several hours (we do have active Mods almost all day tbh?).

Do you think this will be too hard (Validating their posts)? too much of a deterrent?

I think this is a very good idea.
The only downside I can see as you mentioned is the time problem.
I'm wondering if the mods/event leaders have time to do this every day several times as well as their current duties.

But otherwise a very good idea and I support it.

I agree with this. Even if the amount that has to be checked is something so low (like 5) it would stop a lot of the ones that register, post, and never come back.

We have enough active tertiaries/mods/whatever and council to easily check the forums on an hourly basis if necessary. Most of the new posts would be in times that we have more than 1-2 of us on. Right now, it's me and Evil. Gorge checked in for a few minutes as usual. Cam sometimes checks in. By the time I log off, others will be near logging in.

This is an idea that I really like. Even though it may seem like a lot of work, with all of us working together, it won't be. Think about it.

And, as Lordy has said before, its not the dedication of the applicant this will affect, its the mentality from the process

I agree and I like ur idea, TDM have this system , but they use it for non registered.

We could probably use this for Clan friends and Ex Members , that A Tertiary leader needs to validate their post inorder for it go get on the forums.

This will throw people off talking, and ultimately applying.
Having the odd porn is worth it, if it helps our chances of securing recruits.

Of course it does for you Lordy. But What about if someone clicks the links and get keylogged? and its a member of ours?

It's not the odd porn. It's almost every day! They make an account, post once, and never use it again..

If you are honestly silly enough to click a link which has been posted by a person posting pron with it, has 1 post count AND isnt using his or her rsn.

True Cam, but we shouldn't be having so much. Even if we have it to where only the FIRST post has to be checked, that would eliminate 95% of them.

Yes Cam, but some "newer" people on our boards don't know or may don't see that.

I decided to spam this topic up again because I think we should take this into more consideration unless you guys dont mind letting people watch porn and clicking stuff on these forums and waste your time moving them.

Strongly approved. I would check this 1-2 times a day happily. It is a big and unacceptable problem. Potential members seeing this posts could be offended by the porn. We wouldn't want that.

But at the same point, how hard could it be to let the Mods check all the clan-friends posts before they go on the forums, TDM uses this system and it works fine for them.
But on the other hand considering Abs wanted to delete the Moderator Rank.
