App managers

The main reason this topic has come out is our current batch of App manager's are frankly, crap, ever since we lost Randy they have been on a slide.... with app's taking longer and longer to be processed.
Myself and dale, when removing some really inactive people found that a large proportion hadn't even been added to the memberlist, one of the main things an app manager should be doing when doing app's.
So the question is:
Is it time to ditch the Application Manager system?
If we really think it would be too much work for the council to cope with on its own I trust our current moderator's infintely more than our app manager's to do the job properly. Maybe we could make it so all tertiaries can process app's?

Personally, i was in favour of the Application Manager System before we implemented it after a while i still thought that however i no longer do, Applications are alot weaker now and still get accepted, Members aren't being added to the Memberlist's and personally i haven't seen either of the Applications managers for a while now.
I would prefer if Council got to Deal with them, because we can be assured that quality will be delievered.

No, The Application Manager rank is definitely needed - It's just who we appoint that is where it's wrong.
Trust me, If Council did it, it would be a LOT slower. Maybe not at the beginning, but trust me, it will get slower. The Application Manager rank was designed to do two things:
-Lessen the workload on Council, their job is to steer the clan in the right direction, petty tasks such as organising the applications will get in the way and you will see it as a burden.
-If people were assigned to the Application Manager Rank - They only have ONE job to do, and that is to manage applications. This means all of their focus will be on one task, meaning they won't skip procedures etc. What we have found here, is that as you do a lot and a lot of applications, you get rusty and start to be lazy, so here's a chance to renew our Application Managers by appointing new ones.
Application Manager ranks are in very successful clans and they execute the concept perfectly.
Even so, nowhere does it state that only App Managers have to do the Applications lol.
Council always have the right to do them.

You also need to be sure to check the length of any refferal, I have posted in here previously about the problems with refferals, so make sure it is not a just a one line/sentence about the person. If they expect to get into WG the "Easy way" their refferal should be at least 2-3 sentences. Please don't forget to do the google search, it's not hard, and you will be surprised what you find. If you do get a large amount of search results (50+) it may be beneficial to use the advanced search, adding key words like RS, clan etc. |
Added to the sticky in the application manager's forum which cover's their job's, so the summary was allready done lol
I guess the next question is, if we are going to keep the app manager system.... should I post up an application topic in the next few weeks to replace randy? and maybe add a fourth app manager (since bam and Gus aren't exactly the most active of people)?
I would think that we would require higher plus to apply for that position since we are putting allot of trust in them giving them the ability to access admin CP?
