Quick Chat... Just another faliure by jagex?

This is a discussion, if you don't agree with me please feel free to post.

I don't like it, I find it excessively complicated.... with the slayer "My current task is" being so stupidly long you will probably have finished your task before you have actually found the monster on the list that they give you.

Things That I have found that are particularily stupid:

-"Would you like to go play" (if you want to go play something with your mates why not just pm them wanna go CW? much faster)

-Anything on the clan's tab..

-I need to slay..... OMFG that is stupid

-Any of the greetings.... its meaningless if you cant be bothered typing it. I will ignore any quck chat hello's etc.

I do however like the new level up messages (I lvl'd farming immediately after the update) and they are informative.

I agree the quick chat system takes too long to use.
Unless you remember it like counter-strike weapon buying combos.
But I doubt that will happen for half of them.

It'll be a stupid way for ppl to spam in banks + stuff.
Seriously I just like normal chat over that.
I think after 1 week only perm muted players will use it.

With the new lvl up messages, I've seen some on zybez, but I'm yet to get one myself.
They look ok, yes informative, however I think I liked the old look.
Like its ok for att/str/def/hp which all lvl up in the middle of a monster, but others such as agility idk, I think I'd rather the old ones.

i agree i got confused on how to use it when i first logged on then once i knew how to work it i would it was useless so yeah quick chat sucks badly

i guess this is a way to shut up all those muted people (LOL, how can you shut up something that cant talk)

well, lets remember, jagex cant type 1 word a minute, so, its quick for them lol

probaly will just be used to spam, and make it easier to beg lol

and it is somewhat easier to not have to take your eyes off the screen to look at the keyboard (even though i can type without looking)

Like when a certian event co-ord died today, loosing 10m+, and got "another one bites the dust." from me

but the system isnt that good tbh
unless you know like all the combos

I find 'quick' chat only useful if you can't type fast or are muted for some reason.
Well it may take time to remember all the bits and crannies but it has potential

F11 is basically a spam button.

Funny because you can hit F11 over and over to repeat the last thing you said in quick chat endlessly, and supposed you get muted for doing this. When you're muted you can still spam this way!

Epic fail.

The quick chat is just annoying .. simple as that

The whole spectrum of annoying things is needed for the people who are muted.

I disagree I think that the whole Quick Chat system is useful on a number of different levels. For one, the muted population now have a half decent way of communicating. It's slow, but it's something. Also, for the translation from w140 to the rest of the worlds, it enabled German people to talk to those who speak English.

I agree that it's much slower for the average user, but i don't really think it was intended for the average user I think it's another of Jagex' ploys to make RS more appealing to new members.

Jagex makes the game from their own angle, they don't imagine themselves as members. They do just about the opposite of what we really want. That is what is corrupt about Jagex. Hopefully they will finally listen to their members for once.

I actually enjoy pissing around with quick chat a little bit.
