LEAVE A #@!$#!#@ING LOCK MESSAGE

By Tmal34 on 22/05/2008
Ok I have an example now and it's ridiculous.
Look at the thread RIGHT below this one.
It is locked and the last post is by Tnuac. Did Tnuac lock it? NO.

After just discussing this issue it's ridiculous that a topic would get closed and no reason given.
Now in this case we all know the reasoning, but still, it really really isn't that hard to just make a freaking post sad.gif

With power comes responsibilities, come on people work with us here.

By Kiwi011 on 22/05/2008
he said dale sorted it......that means the topic has done its job and can be closed.

By Tmal34 on 22/05/2008
Tnuac didn't lock it though.
Someone else did sad.gif

By Winddancir on 22/05/2008
o.O I have no clue why it was locked. But I guess Dale sorted out the issue?

By Parth23 Jani on 22/05/2008
Yeah , the issue was sorted out.
But the person who locked it didnt make a post saying it was.
Thats what Tmal's saying hash.png

By Yingyang06 on 22/05/2008
I agree with Tmal, a post was not indicated when the topic was locked, so for all we know it was locked by anyone because they didn't want the topic open anymore and as they have the power to lock it they did. But it seems as if dale sorted it out so it rules out the power abuse.

By JC on 22/05/2008
Dale locked it, I guess he didnt leave a reason because the issue up for discussion is solved, and it was fairly obvious that it had been.

Don't expect a lock message on every topic, far out, Tertiary's+ post count's would skyrocket then..... Just think of all the applications we close.

I will give a short explanation why the topic if I feel it requires one from now on, but don't be surprised if it's only 2 words, or if it is clearly obvious why the topic is being locked (ie. a post that is a month+ old and has been bumped unnescacarily, dont want to bring it up any further.) no reason at all.

By DZ on 22/05/2008
Is that what RSC mods are supposed to do or something?

By Spicy63 on 22/05/2008
I don't think it matters if RSC is doing or not,
It's just all around helpful for everyone else on the Forums.

By Abmanju on 22/05/2008
Guys...We don't ALWAYS have to post saying we locked it, you can't expect us to do that...isn't Tnuac's word enough.

If you understand what I'm saying, I know you want us to post a reason to why we locked it lol, but clearly on Spicy63's Topic, it's bloody obvious because it was even posted 'Dale Sorted it'; There really is no need for Dale to post saying he locked it.

What happened is that Dale sorted the issue, he just forgot to lock it or whatever, The last post justifies the reason to why it was locked, there really isn't any need to use up 5 more seconds =P, a Moderator just had to click moderator options, close the topic, done.

I can understand a topic that is full of flames, and that someone must post 'It's getting too far', and they lock it, but the example there, it isn't needed =P

There's no difference if Tnuac posts it or Dale really, fact is, you got the information: 'It's sorted'.

Guys, please note that this isn't RSC , and if you look at Tnuacs reply that it got sorted out, what more stuff can be discussed upon the topic?

Only some random spam and no needing replies prehaps hashdown.gif.png

By Dalejamesw on 22/05/2008
I actually posted above Tnuac but forgot to lock it, then i locked it, under 5 mins after posting. :\

By Mickey on 22/05/2008
You forum mods don't learn ffs hash.png

By Mager123789 on 22/05/2008
Dale is learning it cool.gif

He posted on Simons leaving topic before he closed it happy.gif

Good Job Adam biggrin.gif

By Tmal34 on 22/05/2008
Yeah DZ it's what I'm used to.
It just keeps people accountable I guess.

But nevermind if saving those few seconds are that important than who am I to stop anyone -.-

By Pazenon on 22/05/2008
Tnuac's topic is another subject. The general message is just to make moderators post a couple of words prior to closing the topic, to know why it got closed.

By Twizlers300 on 23/05/2008
I sorta like seeing a post, even if it's, "Case closed" or "Locked" as a post, rather then having a thread just closed. Not a big deal just something that would be nice to see.

By Rai Of Light on 23/05/2008
Personally, unless it was just a pure spam thread I would lock it, and give reason so that ALL parties, involved or not, knew what had happened.

Ilu guys still though, so no worries. <3

Now lock this and give a post to show you learned hash.pnghash.pnghash.pnghash.png

By JC on 23/05/2008
I think this is sorted now,

We will make an effort to post if it is needed.

~Locked <<<< See I did it.
