How to not get K0ed!
By Randy on 22/05/2008
How to not get K0ed!By Kingrandy0~Introduction~Getting K0ed has come to the attention of everyone, and an issue that obviously needs work on. Hopefully this guide will show you the basics on how to not get K0ed in wars!
Note: Do not take this guide as an insult. Not everyone is perfect and has their flaws, if you feel getting K0ed is an issue, than take advantage of this.
~Getting Started~Before you even show up to the war, you should make sure your setting look like the following-

- Sound effect all the way up
- Music and environment sounds off
- Run on

- Public to hide
- Private off
- Clan On
- Trade & Assist Off
~OMG! They're coming for me!~When the opponent's pile is finished, you should see a bunch of people running at you/the clan.
At this moment, hit
1,
2, and
3.

If you are the pile, you should hear it (it sounds like steel clashing).
WATCH YOUR HP!
If you are hit pretty bad, hit
4 (very bad then
5 &
6). IMMEDIATELY hit
5!
Now you are here:

Hit
Quick prayers IMMEDIATELY! They should be setup to be all 4 prayers - Protect From Melee, Steel Skin, Mystic Might, and Rapid Heal.
Hit
2 to go back to inventory.
Now you are here:

Hit
1 to get health up quick.
Then hit
2 and hug, while clicking pizzas like mad at the same time.
This part is optional, but if you are a good tank, hit
3 when running and not being hit, and when you are binded, put back on your rune plate.
Video Guide soon to be added!I hope this guide will help you.

nice
first post

Uhm, i personnaly never turn on My rs sound, it annoys me
i just pay good attention, and i rarely get koed
By Kiwi011 on 22/05/2008
if ur 113cmb or below, start w/ pray on. Im 110 and was the 1st pile in the war=k0 cuz i wasnt expecting it.
also set your attack setting to defensive if you have the time.
Also since most of the people getting k0ed are low lvls like me. Bring more swordies. Less pizza. You will die if u have a full invy of pizza and a def lvl that sucks. Like mine.
I recommend 6-8 pizza bc usually i am almost redbared because they hit more than a bite of pizza , but thats me.
By Back to Own on 22/05/2008
For hybrids, I usually put back on a rune plate/leg as the enemy approaches for another pile.
Kite+ Rune leg/plate usually prevents kos as a hybrid

It's a good guide. Nothing i didn't already know. But things happen and K0's are often. Pretty much, you just need practice to work on it.
Good work Randy

Nice guide Randy.
Most important thing is not to get nervous and all "OH MY GOD@@@", that will only get you ko'd.
By Robertw56 on 22/05/2008
Very good guide Randy! This will really help a lot

yea, take 1 click at a time till your near your destination, or else you double back a bit and get hit more =/

Getting KOed is the clan pking sin. Hybridding is a dangerous game and you need to know that before you do it (even though it is, of course, very useful). Make sure you're competant at protecting yourself if you're going in the mage gear, and keep an eye on the enemy all the time.
This guide is a very good breakdown of what to do, to the finest detail (e.g. put rune plate on before skirt or helm, those extra points can help a lot)
By Kero2 on 23/05/2008
Id say do 2 pizzas instead of doing 5/6 because that way you get to heal alot of hp jst gotta click. Since u can eat to halves as fast as u can eat 1 swordfish n heal 4 more hp
By Karlfischer on 23/05/2008
Very good guide, but just a few things:
First of all, I have to disagree with a little bit of the order. I think you should always (unless there are rangers) turn prayer on first, and then switch gear. Keeping your hybrid gear on that little while longer helps for not getting binded. Switching gear also takes alot longer than turning on prayer, and I think leaving your prayer off for that long is quite dangerous.
The thing about switching gear is that there are decreasing benefits. Rune plate adds great defense, rune skirt adds lots of defense, rune helm adds moderate defense, and staff does not make much difference. By the time you get to rune helm and staff, your time would be better spent turning on prayer. However, switching while already in your inventory makes little sense. If you turn on prayer first, you only have to switch from your prayer book to your inventory. With the way you have recommended, you need to switch from inventory, to prayer book, then back to inventory. That time switching is precious, and you stand a better chance tanking if you can just stay in your inventory so that after switching gear you can eat immediately.
Make sure to make a note about the food, when you want to bring swordfishes and when you want to bring pizzas. For a lower level, bringing that many pizzas is a good way to get KOed because you cannot eat fast enough. It is also a good way to get KOed if you are going up against 30+ people. The general rule of thumb is, the lower your defense and the larger the war, the more swordfish you want. So say if you are a lvl 120+ tank and it is a 20v20 war, then you will want to bring almost all pizzas. If you are under 110 combat and were at today’s war, you should have brought almost all swordies.
If you are in doubt or worried about getting KOed, take half swordfish, half pizzas.
Another thing you want to note is the use of hotkeys. First of all, if you are inexperienced in using hotkeys, using them incorrectly is a good way to get yourself KOed. Practice using hotkeys in random clan wars fights or practice events until you feel comfortable using them in wars.
That said, using hotkeys can make you a second or two quicker, and that can easily be the difference between tanking and getting KOed.
The hotkeys you should know:
F4 = opens inventory
F6 = opens prayer
F7 = opens spell book
F11 = repeats last quickchat text
If you do use hotkeys while hybriding, it is important to know that if you have bind selected and use hotkeys to switch, that your bind is still active. That means that whatever you click on next cancels the bind! For example, if you have bind selected, then press F6 to go to prayer and protect melee, the first time you click it not do anything because it is canceling the bind. You must then click on it another time to activate the prayer. Not knowing this when you hybrid and use hotkeys could get you KOed.
If you are hybriding and do not have bind selected, you should always press F6 so that your prayerbook is open and ready if you are piled, then press F7 to quickly switch back to your spell book and bind.
If you get piled, then just press F6, turn on protect from melee. Press F4 and switch gear and eat. If you are being piled heavily, switch back to F6 and turn on steel skin, and then F4 to eat some more.

That's what I was saying yesterday, but apparantly the speed at which you eat first halves of pizzas is double that of swordfish, meaning you can get 16 health instead of 14. I haven't tested it out, but if its true it makes pizzas a better source for both speed and endurance.

I tried testing it myself...not sure if it is twice as fast or not. I timed myself eating 5 swordfish and then 5 pizzas. I was able to eat the swordfish in about 9 seconds, and the pizzas in 12 seconds. Who knows, I might have been clicking slow on the pizzas, you should try it yourself and see what you get.
Even at that rate though, it seems that they heal at about the same rate:
14x5=70/9= about 7.8 hp per second for swordies.
18x5=90/12= 7.5 hp per second for pizza.
That difference is not much, and could have easily be within the margin of error.
Still, for those who have trouble tanking, I would still recommend swordies because there is less clicking involved. It is a bit hard to hug and constantly be clicking pizzas.
By Zlatan83 on 23/05/2008
I use 1/3 swordfish, it's for when getting piled and u need to get ur hp to max as fast as possible so u avoid getting koed. Then the rest pizzas.
By Tnuac on 23/05/2008
Consider that its physically harder to use pizzas, because you'll need fast and accurate clicking. For someone new, swordies are still very much preferable.

This is a very good guide. It would help the ones who needs to practice.. *ahem.. like myself* but yeah thanks alot <33333

Gotta disagree with that one
By the time you can put pray up, you can easily put on rune legs+ plate. In the case that you do put prayer up, those little, but constant 5s on your robes will very quickly add up.

By Renegade3540 on 27/06/2008
Quick note:
Due to practice one can learn to eat 2 slices of pizzas = 18 hp in the same time as 1 swordy = 14hp
In my opinion first thing to do when you notice you're being piled = hug that wall. also your bind robes should be in your inventory when the enemy pile is coming in. Awereness of your surroundings is most important in wars
By Havochaha on 27/06/2008
Got Lag?
delete some old stuff thats on your computer, exit out of everything before a war and just restart the damn thing it makes it a lot better.

Hehe, hope I can remember that if I get piled and not panic. Nice guide though.

Most excellent guide. This will help me, I hope, die less. I am only using sword fish because I am still learning. Now, for the really big question. How do you practice other than a war or raid?

Some of you may know this some may not.
The guide is good but you missed a part about the pizza's.
It's actually BETTER if ur under HEAVY attack, to hit the FIRST HALF of your pizza's first, as they can be eaten quicker than a swordie/2nd half of a pizza, test it you'll see that it will let u eat (think it's about a 3rd quicker) and thus if u really need to u can MASS click all your first half's, no one should die on FULL pizza's without at least eating all your first halfs.
At least when i was Rsd that's how we taught newer members, First half's before Anything else as its quicker, but if ur not under that heavy attack eat any 2nd half's first as they are harder to get rid of, they eat at the same speed as a swordie but not nearly as helpful.

haha this might take some practice, god gettin koed is anoying lol
