Leadership-Member

By Mickey on 03/06/2008
Well, some of you know, I did infact lead a clan. Lately, since Gene left, I've been feeling a bit, well wierd. I'm starting to want that leadership position back. I went from leadership position, to a normal member. That is EXTREMELY HARD!!!@!@ Lately I've been thinking that I should just leave WG, before things turn out like the last time and I multi clan. I just miss it so much. I miss the respect, the power, the experiances and the mistakes. I learned alot from leading a clan, some things harder to learn than others.

I'm just realy confused and I guess the only person who knows how I'm feeling is Lordy.

Please help me guys, I realy can't help it anymore.

Tbh I wouldn't know what to say. I've never had the experience of being a leader and such. I will respect you if you do decide to lead your own clan. Sorry I'm not saying much. 12:37 AM and i'm out of it.

Don't really see too much of what anyone else can do for you.

If you want the rank back, then leave WG and make your own clan. Its completely your choice and you shouldn't have other people push you into doing something you don't want to.

By Bambaleo on 03/06/2008
maby one day you will manage it to become a council member of WG, or even the leader...but if you want to lead your own clan no1 will stop you. Do what you think it's right for you smile.gif of course we all respect you and we would be really happy if you would decide to stay with us.

Offer good suggestions, make readable posts and be as active as possible. Those are my advise.

I have also led a clan in my history before WG back in RSC.

It is totally up to you whether you prefer leading a clan, or just being a part of it as a member. I sort of know how you're feeling. Just think about it, and don't rush into a decision.

By General199 on 03/06/2008
This is a decision that is up to you. If you feel as though you need to lead a clan, you need to go ahead and start your own clan. I think the best way to go is to be good, make good posts, keep active, and do all good things. This will better yourself if chances do come around for a leadership role.

I get the same feeling all the time.
It caused me to leave EH, because there was no upward mobility.
It causes me to occasionally feel like running for council here.

It depends whether you care more about satisfying your friends in WG or your urge to lead though. None of us can answer that for you.

Maybe make and lead your own events, work your way to an Event Leader position.

Patience & Hard Work. And avoiding posting this, but tis too late.

By Quikdrawjoe on 03/06/2008
Give it time, eventually you'll either find the desire to lead cools or if it remains the same you may want to reconsider your decisions.

By George on 03/06/2008
I created a clan and obviously lead it before I came to WG.
I disbanded it shortly before applying for WG.
So I know exactly where you are coming from.

However I worked for my position, and after joining at the end of June 2007 I was a skills leader by September 2007....
Your hard work will not go un-noticed if you put in the hours.

By Tnuac on 03/06/2008
I can completely understand. I was a leader in my old clan.

I just saw being a normal member as a break, it was good to see it from the bottom again and could stay there. But I worked up and became council, which was also fun.

Only thing i'd say is make sure you don't multiclan. Its one or the other.

gain a position here. why leave after all these months for some new clan that you probably would have like 20 members join, since most people in RS are in permanent clans now

By George on 03/06/2008
Oh yeah just a bit of info.
Most new clans, I think it's like 90% fail in the end.
Apart from a select few, obviously all the big clans nowadays started off young.
But do you really have the determination to keep a clan going even if it is clearly dying?

I thought it was constructive... but meh.

if you want power, you need to do something in order to get it........ex-be on irc, make friends, be friendly, schedule events, get lots of respect from people......be leaderlike.....

By T Dwag on 05/06/2008
Hmm its your choice. There's always pressure to leadership, if you really love this clan though then stay. That's what I did and in the past I didn't feel appreciated, then I was chosen as a raid leader, hand picked. Your time will come Mad just wait for it =)

I had this same problem in my last clan. Fairly early in my career in it i was promoted to a rank equivilant to an Event Leader here, then after another month promoted to High Council (Equivilent of Council here). I was damn good at my job however after a while the staff sector of the clan seemed to become saturated, and i decided to step down back to member in order to try and achieve balance.

Eventually all of the inactive staff were cut and the balance was restored, i was obviously still then very well suited for the High council rank, however as i stepped down i was sure they would not consider me again. (Then in the same position you are now, limbo). I like you had options: Leave the clan or stick to it. I eventually found that the best thing i could do was to simply do the best you can. Recruit, keep peace (never get into arguments), defend the innocent, welcome new people, help out at events, spread a good name of the clan. That's what i advise to you tongue.gif As it seemed to work for me. Within 2 months i was back up at High Council and another month after that Leader of the clan tongue.gif

Good luck madd with whatever you decide <3

The main reson I wanted to make a new clan was so that I could be with my friend who realy only ever enjoyed the clan I made. He is in the IRC sometimes know as Bedds. I have enocuraged him to join and I think that he's thinking about it. Also, please pay no more attention to this topic as I have mde up my mind and I wish to stay.

I know this is kinda a bump.

But, when you said that no one except Lordy knows how you're feeling, I have to say, that thats no true. There are tons of former council members still around, that you can talk to at any time.

Most council members stick around after their time as a leader. Just off the top of my head, people who feel the same way are probably Twiz, Owen, Zach, Tmal, Jenny, and even myself.

Don't think you're alone in feeling that way. I'm sure any one of us would be glad to talk to you whenever you feel this way. Glad you already made up your mind though, just had to add this in.
