SLAYER UPDATE RLY?

Yeah, so, I dunno if anybody else is, but I'm so stoked for this new Slayer Update. I want it to come out NAOW. But unfortunately, it isn't coming out. >_> So I decided to read up on what the other players have to think about it. When I came across this topic:

"Finally.. A slayer update, sounds pretty decent.

As you've read, it's stated we'll be getting a new slayer master, new equipment and some special rewards. Here are my ideas;



New Slayer Master - As for the slayer master, I'm thinking it will be for people with a higher slayer level, maybe around 80. Also, it could go by your combat level, like the rest are. Maybe 115+ Combat for the new master with a slayer requirement of around 60-70? The new master will up the assignments and hopefully, give more metal drags and dark beasts. In other words, more of the tasks we don't get enough of.


New equipment - I'm thinking more stuff that will boost your stats during an assignment. Something like armour that boosts your defence during the task.


Special rewards - Hmm.. Maybe the slayer masters will give you " Special Rewards " when you complete a certain amount of assigned tasks without skipping. The rewards could vary from coins, slayer equipment or even charms to help even more with summoning."


If you ask me, some of those ideas sound pretty damn good. And then, to make it even better, a mod posted on his topic:

I wont bother with this update much until I am 99 strength. Training slayer with dragon scimmy is boring.

Thought we'd get a dragon pick last month and instead we got a global warming quest.

Not going to make the same mistake. I think it'll be a mediocre slayer master, and a whole mess of mediocre monsters. You'll have to kill one for the quest, and then you'll never hear of them again.

They tend to say when updates will be high level oriented, anyway.

You make a good point, I won't lie. But I have a feeling this one will be good.

Well, so far, I'm pretty upset. I haven't done the quest yet, but I was really excited once I saw the yellow "System Update" on my screen. But when I logged back in, and clicked on my Slayer Skill to see what's up, I see new pointless items, and the new master only requires a level of 35 Slayer. That's awful.

Not only that, but I was in the middle of a task when I logged out. I logged back in, checked how I was doing on my task, but Duradildo had something else to say:

"We seem to have lost your records in our recent reshuffle. I'm sorry, due to changes in our record keeping system, I don't have that information on hand right now. You will need to obtain a new task for normal service can be resumed."

So, so far: ****ty update, ruined my Slayer Task. GF JaGeX. -.-

Main things to note:

New Graphics

New amounts on the tasks (60-90 of any dragon task bar mithril!?!?!?!?!!?)

Meh. A shame about the crap slayer master, but I saw it coming. I like the new point system, a lot in fact for avid slayers.

Personally I'de love to get my hands on that new helmet, not to mention you can use 100 points to completely ban a certain slayer task from being assigned to you.

And once you have all the goodies you want, you can trade them in for slayer xp.

It isn't the high level update we were waiting for, but it has livened up the skill I must admit. From what I hear all the good slayer spots are packed at the moment. I'm gonna go ahead and get my 99 fish, then train to 90 slayer for dark beasts .
