Two fights a week....really?
By Tmal34 on 07/06/2008
Look guys I'm all for preparing and focusing on the CWPL, I mean I lead the damn thing so it's neat to see people care. However, it really shouldn't be WG's ONLY focus.
The WG I know and love is one that used to fight 5 or more times a week.
The WG I know and love could always pull 15 or 20 people to a matched opt fight and have a good time doing it.
So why have we gotten away from that?
Is the CWPL so important that short prep fights need to be eliminated completely?
WG is a clan that thrives on warring and there are probably 30 other clans out there that would be willing to short prep fight us. Those clans are all beatable and more importantly, all fun to fight. As it stands now we only bother with fighting one clan a week and that is just unacceptable in my opinion.
I really think people would find it more fun to at least have a couple spur of the moment fights a week, that is what clanning is all about.
It keeps us sharp for the important fights, and keeps members that can't make it on Saturdays happy.
Raid Leaders or Council: If you need help finding the fights then please just ASK! I have something like 600 people added on msn, most of which are in clans or lead them. I know so many who like to war and we should be able to always find a fight.

I agree, we're not improving by sitting here and twiddling our thumbs waiting for the war each week. None of us are bots except maybe Evil and can't maintain the same level on skill week after week. We need practice at least once and a while to refresh the memory and remind us what it's all about.

Meh. You all know I don't care for wars most of the time. Others though, want more warring. You Raid Leaders out there, give it to them.

See right here, great example of someone who has a good reason NOT to want any more fights.
Yet she is still willing to see it happen for those who like it.

The only reason I have not been getting any miniwars is because I don't want us to get too many wars that will make us not take the CWPL as important. I fear that too many mid-week miniwars would result in the majority of WG to get an attitude that is like "oh another war, who cares I've had enough throughout the week".
As for other raid leaders I can't speak for them but thats my mindset. I have a feeling theirs are similar to mine too.

Yeah I agree...that's why there needs to be a compromise.
Would 1-2 miniwars midweek really affect people's feelings about the weekend?
I doubt it.

i agree extra practice never hurts. it can only help us
By Zemus3654 on 07/06/2008
1 or 2 minis/week would be fine, only thing is during the week i have school, & the minis are always either when im sleeping or at school :@

I'm definently willing to make more fights. When I started making short-prep fights previously, I received a lot of angry clanmates complaining about it....
I'll step it up tbh.

I'd like too see more mini wars.
2 max for like EST throughout the week, and maybe throw in one for Aussies? (Even though it'd be small , 5v5, 10v10).
But any more than that + some focus may be taken off cwpl.

We didn't want to put too much pressure onto Wg while the CWPL fights where going.
We wanted to put as much performance as possible in the CWPL fights, that's why we discussed about it when we signed up, will this be a stab in the back for Wg? Will this reduce the amount we get for other wars?
We need to preserve our energy and direct to one thing, and I think CWPL is the right way to do it, along with Pro Silentium.
We'll get high in Cmb & Skills, and that is proven through our success in the CWPL.
As the CWPL continues, gets longer, Pro Silentium continues, the fights will get harder, but Wg will also get harder, due to practice in Full Out wars and increase in combat.
To be honest, a lot of people put 100% in to the full out wars, mainly because they know it will make a big difference towards the clan "Wg" publically, our public image on RSC Is getting much better, we're gathering more self-esteem, we're doing really well.
Why try to fix the fixed. I think we're fine as it is.
For performance wise, General holds a lot of Tanking practices, I will encourage him to carry on, I personally love him for doing it. I encourage others to host them as well. If you are worried about leading the event, just get a leader to do it for you.
And Tmal, Wg's changed =P

I agree with Tmal

Doing tank practices is all well and good, it helps up improve etc, however to keep our edge we need to ensure we keep fighting regularly instead of just hyping up one big war.

As has been said, we need a compromise.
Without practice, we'll fall behind. Mininwars take up, what, half an hour? In a week of 168 hours, I think we can afford at least 1.
By chip54321 on 07/06/2008
tbe and tdm are both in the same situation, maybe we could ask them for a practise every week where we just war each other. It would be a good test of skill and of course, it would help us train just a little bit. Plus, its not too important so it wont get in the way of the CWPL.
By Zlatan83 on 07/06/2008
I see cons and pros about that, but I can really see WG having more miniwars , getting more publicity as Karl said : all publicity is good publicity, and to get to know eachother better.
By General199 on 07/06/2008
I had been wondering why I was not seeing any short preps. Short prepped full out or matched ops will keep us tuned for warring each week so we should keep having them no matter what. Oh and keep training everyone.
By rachellove9 on 07/06/2008
I'm not really into the warring that much but I might attend an extra war or two each month if I happen to be on. Though matched opts I most likely get cut. I dont mind that either. Love to see you all having a good time warring.
Nolan I'm training <333 (dont love it though lol)
By Tmal34 on 07/06/2008
Abs I realized it has changed, but you understand that the CWPL is designed to basically have no end right?
It is 7 weeks, 1 week off, 7 weeks, 1 week off, etc...
Knowing that, are we really going to just fight one clan a week for the rest of WGs existence? That doesn't sound like a great way to do things in my opinion.
All I'm saying is 1-2 miniwars a week.
If you want to make them no RSC post then do it (Although I hate that

) but I think as a clan that has its roots in warring, we won't lose anything with another fight a week.
By Snowzak on 07/06/2008
Although you bring up good points, I agree with Abs' point of view for now: we've only had two weeks and one CWPL fight, a bit of stability doesn't hurt. However, we shouldn't forget that if WG fights, like all other clans in the CWPL two wars a week, we'll stay stationary.
I think that we should start having more miniwars gradually in one or two weeks, to get used to the rhythm of one full-out per week, before adding minis on top.
By Karlfischer on 07/06/2008
Completely agree with Tmal, there needs to be some sort of balance here, and right now we do not have enough wars per week. I think the extra practice would be helpful, expecially for those who for one reason or another cannot make the CWPL wars. If we do not have another war each week, we should at least organize a large inter-clan war.
